Kittredge Cherry

About Me

Kittredge Cherry is a lesbian Christian author and art historian who whose ministry put her on the cutting edge of the international debate on sexuality and spirituality. Her website, JesusInLove.org, offers spiritual resources for queer people and their allies. Rev. Cherry was at the forefront of the sexuality debate at the National Council of Churches (USA) and the World Council of Churches as National Ecumenical Officer for Metropolitan Community Churches. She served as clergy in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community for 7 years until Chronic Fatigue Syndrome forced her into a more contemplative life. One of her main duties was promoting dialogue on homosexuality at the National Council of Churches (USA) and the World Council of Churches. A native of Iowa, Cherry has degrees in journalism and art history from the University of Iowa, and a master’s degree from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. Her books include Jesus in Love, Art That Dares, Hide and Speak, Equal Rites and Womansword.
