About Me

Jon Easter is a native of Indianapolis and is proud to be a product of Wayne Township schools, the Indiana University School of Education, and the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism. During high school and college, Easter found the topic of politics and government extremely interesting. He cast his first Presidential vote for Bill Clinton in 1996 and has been a Democrat ever since. Easter is a member of the Decatur Township Lions Club, the Decatur Township Civic Council, the Decatur Township Civilian Fire Merit Commission and is the President of the Decatur Township Democratic Club. He has served as a union representative in the Wayne Township Classroom Teachers Association and is a past President of the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters. A teacher by trade, Easter lives in Decatur Township. For fun, he's often found honing his argument skills on message boards, updating his blog (not enough), and playing golf. He is an amateur historian on the Civil War, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (nowhere near Donald Davidson level), and the Presidents. He also loves to travel. Easter has one older brother and several nieces and nephews.
