About Me

University of Belgrade earned respect and tradition through 200 years of work. Furniture and Interior Dept - Wood Processing & Furniture Design, was founded in 2004, as a part of Wood Processing Division, with the mission to educate new type of experts for design and industry who would have both technical and artistic training in order to respond with high quality solutions to modern needs, fulfilling tasks from design concepts, throughout design and production process, up to improvement and marketing of design products. The Department is highly committed to Modern Art, Sustainable Design and ecological means of building, and activities are mostly oriented towards developing new products with emphasis to Sustainable Design solutions and savings in raw wood material, which resulted in many prototypes awarded and published in various Wood Science and Design magazines, and many of them became a part of 'Savings in Raw Wood Material' Project, sponsored by Serbian Ministry of Science, which carries out in cooperation with the Furniture Quality Testing Laboratory at the University. The Department holds regular exhibitions and design workshops, promoting sustainable creativity.
