Paul Umbers

About Me

Hi, my name is Paul Umbers and I'm an IT Professional working in the Calgary, Alberta area of Canada. I've worked in the IT industry for over 20 years, 11 years with IBM and the last 10 as an independant consultant. Right now, I'm working for Elluminate, Calgary as a Software Architect. The blog name, Internistic, comes from the name of the company I used to run in England before moving to Canada. It refers to a branch of medicine concerned with internal diseases & ailments. My business partner and I chose it because we specialised in rescuing failing projects and solving problems with existing systems. It seemed appropriate for the work we were doing. I liked it so much I've kept it as an operating name here in Canada.
