About Me

I have published many articles in a variety of publications. The magazines include Opera America, Scene, Asymmetry Music Magazine, Open Spaces, Opera, MUSO, Seen and Heard - MusicWeb International, International Arts Manager, American Record Guide, Symphony, Opera Canada, The Lutheran, Odyssey, Classical Voice of North Carolina, livePDX, Down Beat, Modern Drummer, PSU Magazine, The Budapest Sun, Sforzando, and Seen. The newspapers include Crosscut, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, The Oregonian, The Columbian, The Portland Tribune, The Register-Guard, Willamette Week, The Hollywood Star, The Portland Observer, The Jewish Review, Northwest Examiner, and The Northwest Neighbor. I am a member of the Music Critics Association of North America (see www.mcana.org), and I live in Portland, Oregon with my wife, Kathy. In my day job, I'm a Sr. Technical Writer at Insitu.
