About Me

I have been involved with state humanities councils since 1977. A humanities council works to improve the institutions (families, schools, community organizations like libraries and museums) that help people shape an understanding of the human condition. Our work is educational. It promotes the rich development of human potential. Why? Because life can be more interesting. I want to live in a state where every baby is read to, don't you? I want to live in a place where the museums make me want to come back with friends, don't you? I want to live in a place where the libraries help me get together with people to talk about books. I also want to live in a place where I can sing with a symphony orchestra and spend mornings in June dabbing pollen on beautiful flowers! My garden interests are at daylilylay.com
