Introduction Hi! I'm Karin! I'm currently getting my Masters degree in disability studies from the University of Leeds in England. started this blog while spending the summer in Washington DC doing an internship program through the American Association of People with Disabilities. I firmly believe in disability rights, and that disability is not simply something that needs to be cured, but rather a valid life experience. This blog is about my journey in DC, and beyond to learn what it means to be disabled in a world not exactly built for me. This is about the journey of finding pride and strength with other people see tragedy and shame. This is about claiming my identity and not having it thrust upon me by other people. Here I will give voice to what is often left unspoken, the good, the bad, and the awkward. Here in this space, I will figure out exactly what it means to claim crip. I also run www.ceepstyle.tumblr.com, a predominantly photo based blog about the intersection of disability and fashion. If you have any questions, comments, or you would like to talk to me about writing a piece for your site, business, or organization, please feel free to contact me at Karin.Hitselberger@gmail.com
