About Me

Cool Justice is the column by Andy Thibault, popularized by the book, Law & Justice In Everyday Life, and the opinion pages of The Connecticut Law Tribune as edited by Vince Valvo from 2000-2006. A second installment of columns is on-line @ www.andythibault.com. The column was inspired by the old "justice stories" which ran in The New York Daily News and the work of writers including Jimmy Breslin, Edna Buchanan, James Ellroy and Raymond Chandler. Thibault, an adjunct lecturer of English and a mentor in the MFA writing program at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, also teaches a blogging class for the English Department at Northwestern Connecticut Community College. He is a licensed private investigator, professional boxing judge and consulting editor for the literary journal Connecticut Review. He delivered the 2004 Pew Memorial Lecture In Journalism at Widener University, Chester, Pa. Thibault serves on the board of the Connecticut Center For The Book, an affiliate of the Library of Congress, and chairs a fund that has awarded more than $182,000 to young writers in Connecticut.
