Introduction	I lose my sting when gently brewed. Having escaped the chains of academia, (I have a Phd in Literature and a passion for fairytale scholarship), I am having a hiatus. It's always been my dream to return to a life in the country, and grow a heap of vegies, herbs and flowers, watch the chooks scratching around in the dirt, and my girl-child running wild. For now, I am in the green heart of a city, but still determined to live the dream. I bake bread, do lots of yoga, sew our clothes, and grow an organic, permaculture container garden. And thus with a pile of books teetering beside my armchair, and a bottomless teapot of chai at my side, I am attempting to live a creative life amidst the ups and downs and general chaos of existence. I am not averse to long midnight conversations, and dancing a ridiculous version of the tango, and I like my brew with a dollop of darkness as well as honey.
