Introduction Back to summer Laura!! Though some unfinished business still lingers a bit at work . . . That should be done by the end of this week and then it is full summer Laura!!!! Making jewelry nearly every day and might sell some at The Twisted Shamrock. I am currently training for my second trail race in the UP--no bears got me last time and I hope that tradition continues. In my summer mode I am "vacation Laura". That means possibilities are endless: I can sleep in, get up early just to go for a run and then go back to sleep, collect rocks from the beach and make jewelry from them, try out all the trails in lower MI, drive nine hours to the UP and then take three days driving back down. Run a race with my brother. Read whatever books I want, whenever I want. "Take the day off" and hang out at one pm with my family, go to yoga with another teacher friend. Every day is Saturday.
Interests Being with my family and friends, Running, traveling, reading, yoga, painting and making jewelry, swimming in Lake MI, parasailing, sleeping in, staying up late and watching movies, karaoke, planning lessons, writing
Favorite Movies Idiocracy, American Psycho (Bale's best movie, by far), Bug, Letters from Iwo Jima, Atonement
Favorite Music 80's and classic rock!!! Especially Pat Benatar, OMD, Sisters of Mercy, U2, The Cult, Patty Smythe, and anything that helps me run faster. Finger 11, Evanescence, Def Tones
Favorite Books Usually whatever I am reading at the time-but if I had to pick, I would say Chronicles of Narnia-- only because I read them all over and over as a child and I still love them--so they have been my favorite longer than any other books. I would say that Kite Runner is amazing as is Dogs of Babel. Any book that just sucks me in and won't let me get anything done except read is good. I really liked the Red Tent because I enjoy historical/cultural fiction.

Your people want to make a statue in your honor. What will it be made out of and what victory will it commemorate?

towers of student papers and student writing awards for the Scriptor. Victory is theirs, but I helped.
