| Introduction | I'm a writer, mother, wife, author, daughter, sister, friend, and not necessarily in that order. I studied Magazine Journalism and Feature Writing at Rice University, and, with God's help, have authored three books and contributed to more than 20 other works, and dozens of publications. I am honored and humbled to have received two Amy Writing Awards; most recently in 2012 for my work in the Beaumont Enterprise, and in 2001 for my work in the Dallas Morning News.
