A sixth-generation Texan, I have lived in Texas for a total of 35.5 years, in Louisiana (4 yrs.), Minnesota (2 1/2. yrs.), and Georgia (9 years and counting). I have spent most of my adult life teaching at colleges and universities in each of the states where I have lived.
