| Introduction | I was born in 1949, the oldest of twelve children, son of a CIA bureaucrat and grandson of blue collar workers. I'm a lifelong political activist and writer. I live on a farm in West Virginia, where I wrote a column for seven years for the Hampshire Review, the state's oldest newspaper. In 2000, it was named best column by the West Virginia Press Association. My writing has appeared in the Charleston Gazette, Online Journal, Common Dreams, Buzzflash, Tikkun and many other websites.
