Introduction	I'm a fundraiser-cook or a cook-fundraiser. Either way I have two great passions, and that's philanthropy and food. Both are about making a difference and about nourishing the body and spirit. Both are about giving. And when done with passion and lots of love, the results are always fantastic. I'm proud to be a Filipino-American, and I believe in the power of positive thinking and in the connectedness of all people to each other.

Favorite Movies	On cooking: My love for cooking and making people happy through food was nurtured in childhood, cooking with my family and relatives for big get togethers. Others have their Italian grandmothers as their muses, but my muse is my father. He is good at anything he sets his mind to, and cooking is one of his many talents. He is an alchemist, a little here, a little there. It's always delicious, and his big smile when people compliment him on his food makes me smile too. Living in Japan and Italy sparked my interest in different world cuisines, and I'm always on the lookout for flavorful, colorful food and for people who cook with love. For me, this is the difference between average and incredible home-cooked food. In this blog, I'll share a lot of good techniques for cooking that will make recipes successful. As for the ingredients themselves, I encourage you to use them as a base but change them as your heart and mood dictates. While I've put down measurements here, nothing is fixed in stone. In fact, I rarely follow my own recipes. Enjoy your adventures in the kitchen -- your family and friends will thank you.
