About me

Interests Throughout the 1980s and early 90s, I was a production assistant, and, for a while, director at the BBC. Mostly in the Music & Arts Department in Kensington House. These were the high-days of documentary film-making. We travelled the world light, not, with 35 large silver boxes of film equipment, big square maroon boxes of precious film stock strapped down every which way, and a clapperboard. In those days everybody shot stills on Kodachrome 35 slide film, for the best reproduction quality should the images be needed for publicity purposes. My photos were sometimes used... in The Observer, Time Out and City Limits I remember, and on an album cover of African music. They have been stored away ever since, long forgotten. Now, finally, I'm cracking open each box and digitising them with my phone camera. All that high quality is gone, but I'll slowly add to this portfolio with the aim of eventually getting some proper prints made. Each new box is chosen at random.
