| Introduction | Katee is a recent graduate of New College of California’s Culture, Ecology and Sustainable Community program, emphasizing in Ecological Agriculture. She believes deeply in focusing on localizing food systems for community food security and in the empowerment of herself and others by doing so. A passionate young agrarian and food systems activist, Katee seeks to act with integrity and humble appreciation in any endeavor she seeks out. She has a deep sense of beauty and aesthetics in her work, and aims to live with simplicity, grace, and inspiration. Katee’s most recent endeavor will be a trip to villages in central Nigeria, where her skills in food and farming education will be used to teach food self-sufficiency by installing a community garden with culturally appropriate, nutritionally-dense crops. After a sabbatical to the tropical food forests of Hawaii, Katee will return to Sonoma County to continue the work she has begun around community food security, particularly in the realm of school garden education and local food activism. |
