About Me

I am a classically trained violinist, a pupil of John Kendall, Shinichi Suzuki in Japan and Cleveland Orch Concertmaster Daniel Majeske. I have performed under Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Masur and Seiji Ozawa, and for dancing greats such as Rudolf Nureyev. As an independent musician I have been on stage with people as diverse as Rod Stewart, Burt Bacharach and Vince Gill. I have taught youth groups internationally and through MacPhail brought students on two international tours. With colleagues I help to found and direct Philomusica of Minnesota. I have (3) college degrees including an MM, and the equivalent of an MFA.. Schools of study have included the U of California, Washington University, St Louis Conservatory, Southern Illinois University, Atelier Lack and Harvard GSD. I am the father of two fantastic daughters, each of whom is a unique, marvelous and caring individual in their own right. I am also a very proud grandfather. I have never been arrested for any cause, and have never initiated a lawsuit of any kind. I am interested in positive, non-violent and progressive changes that benefit all people. I remain a staunch believer in fair treatment and human rights for all.
