Introduction	I've lived most my life in small, rural towns. I came to Raleigh, North Carolina to attend college and I did that cliched "I came to the big city and never left" thing. So, here I am on the other side of 30, living just outside of downtown Raleigh, the capital city, with two dogs and a small backyard flock of chickens. I want to be a writer and a farmer. I'd move to a farm tomorrow if we could pull it off. Well, I'd turn my current back yard into a farm if I could pull that off too. I'd have some goats and pigs out there next week if I could convince my husband and didn't think our neighbors would turn us in. My current interests have always been at the back of my mind waiting for an opportunity. So, when I met a man who was urban chicken farming in a nearby town, I jumped at the chance to acquire a few chickens. My best friend laughs at me and says, " I never thought I'd hear that coming out of your mouth" as I discuss "the dynamics of my flock."
Interests	Between raising two dogs and a flock of backyard chickens with my husband and six-year-old son and writing, my life is pretty full.
