About Me
The female red-winged blackbird is neither red-winged nor black; instead, she is "dusky brown," "blackish-brown and paler below," "brown and striped all over." Also: "The striped female looks strikingly different than the male and could almost be mistaken for a large dark sparrow." I can pass as a sparrow, but the blackbird colors come through strongly when I'm seen on the slant. And you might be surprised at which set of colors I display.
