| Introduction | Arfa Syed, a UMUC alumnus with a B.S. in Marketing, is an educational advocate and enthusiast. She believes that higher education encompasses much more than textbook learning, rather helps individuals discover themselves, their passions, work ethic, and important life lessons. In the past, Arfa has served on several college boards, founded two educational publications, and was selected as the scholarship night speaker to encourage donations towards education. Arfa is now a student advisor in the University System of Maryland and enjoys enhancing the collegiate experience for students. Arfa also holds extensive experience in marketing which she is currently applying towards several educational programs and continues to be engrossed in studying how marketing and education has changed through social media and technology.
