Introduction My introduction to food began in Alaska where the relationship to the earth and nature is part of life. We spent our summers fishing, gardening and berry picking, followed by hunting season in the fall. The product of our labor would be canned, dried and vacuum sealed to sustain us through the long winter months. As an urban dweller, my relationship with food has changed but I still believe in the importance of eating "real" food. I am currently studying to be a holistic health counselor and hope to transform lives by improving health through food and nutrition.
