Introduction | Vlasios is a quantitative and computational economist. He has more than 10 years of working experience in Greece, UK and China. Currently, he is working as a Senior Consultant for Defra, UK. He has been involved in the analysis of the Avian Influenza and Foot & Mouth disease outbreaks and Bluetongue virus in UK as part of the National Emergency Epidemiology Group (NEEG) and the Rapid Analysis and Detection of Animal Related Risk (RADAR) teams. His academic career started in 2004 while tutoring on a number of modules at School of Informatics, City University London. In 2005 he joined the School of Geography, Birkbeck University of London as Lecturer and Course Director of Applied GIS. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Business Analysis at the London Metropolitan Business School where he teaches a number of quantitative business modules and he researches the use of spatial statistics and economics in Retail, Market & Financial Analysis; Knowledge Economies & Innovation, Business Intelligence and Operations Research. |
