About Me

We completed the Great Loop around the eastern United States on our sailboat Pelican, a Jeanneau 43DS, over the winter of 2003-04. After a few winters covered by snow, Pelican was ready to migrate south again starting at the end of August 2007. Instead of doing the Loop (traveling through the rivers from downtown Chicago to Mobile, AL) we'll do the East Coast route this time (from Bayfield, WI through the Great Lakes to the Erie Canal, down the Hudson River to NYC, then through the Intracoastal Waterway with a stay in the Bahamas (hopefully the Exumas) before we retrace our route.
