I have been birding since the summer of 2003; I have been blogging about birds since June 2005. I started this blog in June 2005 as a creative outlet to write about my bird observations. For eight years, I lived in Washington, D.C. Most of my blogging until recently focused on birding and environmental issues in that region. While this blog will continue to have some DC-centered content, I am shifting my focus to New Jersey. Here you will find posts about my bird walks, profiles of bird species in the Mid-Atlantic region, news stories about birds, occasional book reviews, and opinions on other issues.
