Introduction Tahmena Bokhari is an educator and social worker. She has worked with governments and community organizations, as well as directly with women and families, on issues such as settlement, health, poverty, gender inequity, diversity and inclusivity, and international development. She states, "My work so far has been entrenched in 'the local' yet much influenced by 'the global'. It is my belief that individuals do not function in isolation but are reflections of the social structures in which they live. If we create better social structures then we can influence, promote and create better individual experiences. In turn, individuals can further influence our social structures. This promotes a cycle of positive change."
