About me

Gender Female
Industry Museums or Libraries
Occupation Librarian
Location Champaign, IL, United States
Introduction I have been working as the Newman Hall Librarian for a year, and I love it! I have a beagle named Rosie (who is the craziest and sweetest dog), and I'm a neglectful oboe parent.
Favorite Movies Classics with Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Katherine Hepburn, you name it. I have a small collection of Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy movies.
Favorite Music Classical (Beethoven, Liszt, etc), some jazz (not the instrumental stuff... more of the classics like Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra), Gregorian chant and classic polyphony (Thomas Tallis and William Byrd).
Favorite Books Anything by Shakespeare, J.R.R. Tolkien or C.S. Lewis, Thomas Howard, I love saints' lives and writings (I highly recommend Julian of Norwich!), poetry (T.S. Eliot and G.M. Hopkins)... basically, everything! My personal all-time favorite is Jane Eyre.

You've successfully slain the dragon! How will you toast your marshmallows?

Very slowly! Find a nice part of the fire where it's still hot, but the flames have died down. Then patiently rotate until they are perfectly plump and golden brown all around. If they accidentally catch fire, then you can have them! :) And we're not playing around with any silly graham crackers... marshmallows belong between two pieces of chocolate (preferably dark).
