Now that I have some time to do it, I find this blog has been "sleeping" since I last wrote. No new comments, no clicks on my publicity banner on the top of the site... Anyway, I've been sick for 1 1/2 months now. Finally I'm getting better and after a lot of exams they only showed that it was a virus. Which one it was, we will never know! So, if Brisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467902139093521187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9966505.post-1133715879537844202005-12-04T17:00:00.000Z2005-12-04T17:04:39.536ZCO2 emissions in PortugalAccording to a study, Portugal will be in the future the country from the EU with the most high rate of CO2 emissions! This is a very bad view for a country taht signed the Kyoto Prtocol! What can be done to stop this tendency and reduce the emissions? Because the fine will be extremely high for our country to pay if it doesn't reduce this. How can we then convince the Americans to sign this Brisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467902139093521187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9966505.post-1126734274848420982005-09-14T22:40:00.000+01:002005-09-14T22:44:34.853+01:00Lizards and SnakesI've never mentioned that my main job is studying lizards, the smaller ones. I really like studying them. I'm a bit afraid of snakes, though I'm sure in the future I'll have to pick some as I'm included on a team of herpetologists. Herepetology is the science that studies Reptiles and Amphibians.
I just want to warn people that those little lizards they find in their homes and walls aren't Brisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467902139093521187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9966505.post-1123001319233080462005-08-02T17:22:00.000+01:002005-08-02T17:53:28.696+01:00People who brag about things they don't knowIt just makes me sad when people use the media to talk about things they don't know about. Today I was watching TV and this man, apparently a reporter, was talking about a paternity test which had a wrong result and caused a marriage to end. I'm not saying he was wrong to bring this case up. I'm aware that some labs have some bad professionals on it and probably this was a case like that. But Brisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467902139093521187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9966505.post-1108944405983612142005-02-21T00:04:00.000Z2005-02-21T00:06:45.983ZPortuguese Elections - Finally some hope! :)Finally we got rid of that "jet-set" prime-minister! And the left side of politics got a lot stronger! Congratulations to Portugal!!!
Let's hope the new prime-minister will keep his promise of investing in technology and science!Brisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467902139093521187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9966505.post-1108831272543616852005-02-19T16:37:00.000Z2005-02-19T16:41:12.543ZFree Offers: Why Only US and UK?While surfing the Internet you can now apply for thousands of free offers. But what's more frustrating to me and I'm sure a lot of people worldwide is that most of them are only valid in US or UK. OK, sometimes also in Canada.:) Why is that? I know they have to pay more for post expenses but what if the person who applies for these offers is willing to pay those expenses? Sometimes, I just don't have enough time to read all I want, but I remember that some years ago, one of my greatest wishes was to read all the books that exist. Of course now I know that it's impossible but isn't it a wonderful dream for a child to have?:)
My favourite authors (at least those I can remember) are: StephenBrisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467902139093521187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9966505.post-1106775014478193252005-01-26T21:29:00.000Z2005-01-26T21:32:56.346ZPaid-to-Read and Ads I decided to try to make some money using these sites. I'm just starting but I'm enjoying the experience. I've even made a site about my favourite programs from the ones I've already tried. Of course I don't expect to make a lot of money but just some little help will always be welcome!:)
By now, my favourite is this one:

That won't surprise anyone who drives everyday on our streets. But here's a case that someone told me some days ago that shows how people just don't respect the most basic traffic rules! That person who told me the story said he saw once a car that was stopped at a red light, with one more car between him Brisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05467902139093521187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9966505.post-1105468570915998462005-01-11T18:28:00.000Z2005-01-11T18:36:10.916ZAbout animals' thoughtsIt's a common idea to think that we're the only "thinking being" around the planet. Well, in my opinion this is completely false. Animals think! I only need to look at my dog to see that! Whenever she's mad at us, she turns her back to us. Now, is that an instinct or she thinking "they don't do what I want, so I'll protest"?

Portugal is a small country in the Iberian Peninsula, in Europe. It has about 10 million inhabitants and belongs to the European Union sice 1986.
The climate is temperate, though there's some variation from the North to the South and from the coast to the mountains.

This is my first blog! Quite a great way to start this new year of 2005!
I hope I'll have lots of readers and that they won't run away from here at the speed of a click, saying "Ahh, what a terrible and boring blog!" I really hope you'll enjoy it as I'm sure I will!
