Donna did a fabulous job scrapping her Disney vacation photos. She knew that YMBD's Acrylic Album was the perfect medium to showcase all the fun she and her family had. I love her strategic placement of photos and embellishements, especially the rub-ons that you can see from either side of the pages!

I did this layout yesterday and I thought I would share it will you all. It's a letter that I've written to my Dad (he passed away in May 2003 from cancer, just before his 57th birthday).

I've always loved this photo of him, and I thought it was perfect for this layout. It was theraputic for me to do this page, telling my dad in his "letter" all the things that I'm feeling at the moment about my life and how he still fits into it, even though he is gone.

Playing with Water Colors & Journaling Tags

to embellish any of the tags & labels from our shop?

All our tags & labels are laser printed, which means you don't ever have to worry about the printed areas bleeding. In fact, the printed areas actually repel & whisk away the water color paints, making it super easy to stay "inside the lines". Which is perfect if you want to do some really fine, detailed painting (or don't have the steadiest of hands) making it super easy and enjoyable!

And because they are all printed on sturdy 110 lb cardstock, you don't have to worry about the paint warping or curling your masterpiece!

So dig out those water colors and get paiting!

Our Jazzy -- Update

For those of you who read my blog for personal updates, I know you've all been asking for more pictures of Jazzy! Again, because I can't be directly posting them all over the net, I've done a couple more layouts with her pics that I can share with you!

As for an update on how things are going? Very well. It's a challenge, I won't sugar coat it, but we are falling more and more in love with her every day, and we truly are blessed that she has come into our lives. She has settled in so nicely, and I honestly can't remember what it was like before she came! This is surely the most fantastic journey my husband and I will ever embark on together, one that I hope lasts forever!

Online Crop: Huge Success!

I just want to thank everyone who participated in our very first Online Crop, and making it such a huge success!

Our Gallery is brimming with incredible talent, with over 250 projects uploaded over the course of the weekend. I really hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

The Online Crop Gallery has now been locked and moved to the Contest Archives Section of the Gallery. While you can no longer upload any photos, you can still leave comments and share the love!

The Online Crop board has been moved also. You can still read and post to the threads here. Don't forget to periodically check back for the announcement of our next Online Crop!

The DT and I will now be hard at work tallying up all the ballots, so be sure to check back on Friday June 6th when we announce all the Crop Winners!

YMBD's first ever ONLINE CROP starts tomorrow! Beginning at 7pm EST Friday, May 30th and running all weekend long.

We have been buzzing about it for weeks now on the forum, and we are so excited. In fact, the anticipation has been getting to us, so much so, that we've posted a couple of Pre-Crop Challenges for those of you wanting to get a jump start!

We all have those moments when we have several photos of just one event that we want to include on a page, and just cannot decide to cut any of them out, so a two-pager is definitely called for to fit all those photos on one great project!

Where have I been you ask?

Well, the last week has been a super busy one for me. If you've visited my shop lately and ready my shop announcement, you already know why. For those of you who have been sat here wondering why I haven't blogged in over a week, I'll tell you....

My husband and I have been registered as foster parents for quite some time now, with the hopes of adopting in the future. We have been waiting for the perfect "placement" to be presented to us and it finally happened last week and very quickly too. As of the 22nd of April, I've been a proud foster mommy to a little 3 year old girl! This is our first child, so as you can imagine it's been quite the adjustment for us.

I have taken a few weeks off from the shop (although orders can still be placed, they will not be shipped until the week of May 12th) so I can dedicate all my time to getting to know this little stranger that has come into our lives. I think she deserves to have my full attention at the moment, and although it's been a lot of work (and I'm totally exhausted), it's so worth it! We love her so much already.

Earth Day - Recycle It Challenge!

Tuesday, April 22nd is Earth Day. We may not always be 100% diligent when it comes to recycling, but I know most of us try! And that's what counts. Because every little bit, really does help!

And this month at YMBD, we are combining scrapbooking with recycling and a challenge for a prize! How cool is that?
