Yesterday, I spent some time on the phone with a representative of a company that conducts audits of utility bills. I hope to learn more about the company's services in the coming days. I spent part of the day working from home on a variety of matters. I reviewed a recent city revenue and expense statement (Oct. 08 to Aug. 09). I am pleased to report that revenue is generally up from the previous year, to the tune of $140,782. Today's services marked the 70th annual homecoming at Chickasaw United Methodist Church. I helped with this morning's Kiwanis pancake breakfast at the Civic Center. The event was attended by many citizens. This type of fundraiser allows the Chickasaw Kiwanis Club to support its charitable activities. I attended a great meeting of the Mobile GOP this evening. The event featured the state Republican Party chairman. I spent some time talking up Chickasaw. I was pleased to see Rep. I attended the Library Board meeting this evening, after rushing from the courthouse. Great things are happening at the library. We received a $7,000 grant for reference materials, thanks to APLS. This is in addition to the $65,900 grant to replace the roof of the building. The latter grant was made possible by Rep. Randy Davis and the governor's office. The library continues to be in good

I did some work from City Hall yesterday evening. There, I researched the current cost of the city's "land line" phone service. I then sent my findings to several other officials. This should give us a good frame of reference for deciding whether/how to upgrade the city's phone service.

I sent several e-mails this evening regarding tomorrow's Council meeting. Also, I stopped by a utility pole on West Lee Street that has long had an unsightly plastic sign hanging off of it. I cut down the sign. Remember, every piece of trash you pick up is one that you don't have to look at every day.
