Two nights in Boston area this weekend: Our monthly throwdown, listed above (9/9 at the Enormous Room), special guest DJ C. We are bringing some serrrrious sound system reinforcements, so come get down without fear of technical glitches! Party wil be at least 50x more fun than the flyer!

And more importantly, Sunday, Sept 11th we're spinning at a Hurricane Katrina benefit organized by them Honeypump dudes. It's at Great Scott, 1222 Commonwealth Ave, Allston, MA, and we're playing along with DJs Knife, Drisky and D-Wiz... 18+, $10 donation--which is the least we should be doing anyway.

Ok, here's the deal. The Certified Bananas site is undergoing some changes. From this point on you will be able to download the mixes for the current and previous months to your heart's content, but after that point, they'll be coming out of free mode.

The good news is that we've put in the work to design some kick ass CD versions of all the mixes. We're talking original artwork for each mix, hand-screened yellow discs, packaged with love by Mr. Vandal and Sneez le Skeez themselves. Just click here to speed over to our new storefront, where you can get your hands on the cds for all the previous mixes. Our rates are extremely reasonable, as you well know from experiencing 7 free mixtapes thus far. These things might even be worth something someday!

This was the view from the booth at the Enormous Room last Friday when Caps and Jones came through. It was a killer night--Caps and Jones are the motherfucking dudes for real, people. I can't stress this enough. Amazing as DJs and even better as peeps--anyone in New York with half a brain should be attending their Saturday night jam on the regular. Much thanks to all the other folks that made it happen--Chris, Carly, Courtney and the other folks at the Enormous, and of course all our friends who came from near and far to shake that shit. Much appreciated everyone, and we promise to do it again soon.

Stay tuned for major, major updates in the next couple weeks, folks. A ton of dates in August from Toronto to Boston and in between, new web steez, and maybe even some CB product to hold in your hands.

You may have never thought to ask, or may have been wondering all along, but two years minus 4 days ago, Certified Bananas was born. It happened at Rough Trade Record Shop (Neals Yard location) London, England. After arriving at Heathrow earlier that morning, Young P was tired. When he looked up from his record browsing, he thought that the Vandal was just a hallucination. But he was real. Somehow, Providence had converged on London. They laughed and then stole some champagne later that night to celebrate. We thought we'd take it back to the Isles for july two double-0 fizzle.

Oh my, oh my...

I'm gonna get right down to business, because we've got stuff going on right now besides this new mix. Of course, as mentioned in the last post, we've got this party going on Friday, May 6th in Cambridge with Catchdubs. This shit is gonna be fire, so let's tear the fucking club up.

Now all our Providence folks have to show up THIS THURSDAY, May 5th, at the Smith Hill American Legion, 285 Smith St. Providence, RI. It's a collabo Certified Bananas throwdown and Ian McAlpin birthday jam, but don't be afraid to come out if you have no idea who (acclaimed director) Ian is--shit's just gonna be a regular old gettin' crazy hoedown, and we're super excited. Come on out, Providence--don't let Cambridge show you up. Flyer with full details coming later today...

And of course, the main attraction is the new mix of the month. It's the April Mix, although people seem perturbed that the mix comes at the END of the month it's named after. Happy motherfucking spring!

Honestly, has anyone in the Northeastern United States been outside today? Holler at your weather. Anyway, we've got a few little tidbits to offer as the April mix bubbles and brews. We'd like to officially announce our next party on May 6th, at the Enormous Room, 567 Mass Ave, Cambridge MA. We'll be spinning alongside kickass Dj/rap blogeratti kingpin/all around good guy Nick Catchdubs, rocking from 9 PM until they shut us down (2 AM). Chris is gonna take his shirt off.

We're also working on setting up a party in our hometown of Providence. Anyone have a good idea as to where we should play in Providence?
