RECAP
Last month we were notified of a local family that had been targeted with a number of Hate Crime incidents, including the breaking into their mailbox and the spray-painting of the word “Nigger” on their car. The family’s Property Manager, the Local Police, and a local TV Station (KVVU, Fox 5) were notified of this incident. All chose to ignore it. We swung into action, notifying the Center for Media & Public Affairs (CMPA) in D.C. and the King Center in Atlanta, GA. We organized a peaceful protest at KVVU, and circulated a Press Release to local and nationalMedia. The Protest was scheduled on the 37th Anniversary of the killing of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
II. Results of Outreach
Matthew Felling, Media Director of CMPA was rude and dismissive with Steve, and actually hung up on Ruth. Perhaps they weren’t interested in this incident because the victims were not famous celebrities. The staff at the King Center said that they were“outraged” at the incident and would be supportive, but they didn’t send a letter of support in time for the protest. A local FM station interviewed Steve & Ruth the evening before the protest, with live feed over the Worldwide Web.
III. The Protest
The day of the protest was cloudy, grey, drizzly and windy. Nevertheless a few people (including Steve & Ruth White, their dear friend Judy McGee, and Pastor Rob Boyd of the Green Valley Baptist Church) gathered near KVVU to pray. Pastor Boyd had to leave to keep an appointment, but the rest of us hauled out our signs (which had messages like “Mississippi of the West?”) and began walking. Many cars going by made u-turns to get a closer look, and people started peeking out the windows of KVVU to see what was going on. Soon their Program Director (named Larry) came out to talk to us. Larry promised that if there was another Hate Crime directed at this family, KVVU would do a story on it.
IV. The Results of the Protest
We definitely were encouraged by the effects of thisprotest. Although our numbers were small, we made a big impact on the local community and media. Our message got out clearly, and people heard us and agreed with what we did. The family appreciated our efforts, and was encouraged.
Steve WhiteCo-Author
“Life Through the Eyes of An InterracialCouple”www.aplaceforusnational.comrfrazierhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00045426922148908285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9487618.post-1109855516450724682005-03-03T05:05:00.000-08:002005-03-03T05:11:56.453-08:00You're Free to Murder in our Country if You're Under 18!By Steve White
The Supreme Court just struck down the Death Penalty for those who were under 18 when they committed their crime. It seems some of the liberal justices were worried that we might seem like savages to the rest of the world since (they say) we are one of only two countries that executes minors. The vote on this decision was 5-4, with Justices Antonio Scalia and Clarence Thomas among the dissenters.
I have news for the Self-esteemed justices: they needn’t have been so concerned with what the rest of the world thinks of us. We’ve NEVER executed a minor, to my knowledge. The average stay on Death Row is 10-15 years, so most inmates are well over 30 by the time the appeals are exhausted.
Right after the Supreme Court handed down its verdict, I began to hear some details of the case on radio. Seems a young man named Christopher Simmons (17 at the time) conspired with a couple of buddies to commit a burglary & murder. Simmons apparently told one of his friends: ”We’ll get away with it; we’re underage.”
To make the story short, Simmons and his abettors broke into a house, grabbed and hogtied the lady in the house, drove her to a distant location, and threw her off a railroad trestle into a river. Fishermen found the body a short distance downstream and the Coroner determined that she had been alive at the time she was thrown from the trestle.
Justice Anthony Kennedy (speaking for the majority) expressed the opinion that the death penalty would be “cruel and unusual punishment” for a minor. Excuse me, Judge, but what about the CRIME?? Wasn’t that “cruel and unusual” for the innocent victim??
This reminds me of the vicious Reginald Denny beating, which took place during the Los Angeles Riots in April of 1992. The Denny was driving his truck down a Los Angeles street when he was mobbed and savagely beaten by a group of young black men. Those accused got excused with very light sentences. Among the excuses we heard from their attorney was that the criminals were in the grip of “black rage,” and that is why they beat an innocent man to the ground, smashed his face with a large cinder block, and then danced around his bloody and mangled body. The sickening image still haunts me.
I feel the same way now. If criminals are not responsible and accountable just because of their age, they will feel free to do just about anything. It’s clear Christopher Simmons felt that way. What’s the worst that could happen? They could spend the rest of their lives lifting weights, watching TV, eating 3 square meals a day, and just generally having a good old time at the expense of society.
I don’t know how it will be possible, but we need more realistic and knowledgeable judges appointed to the Supreme Court. It may be tough fighting through the inevitable stalling and filibustering tactics of the Democrats, but for the good of our society, we need to get it done. That’s my opinion.rfrazierhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00045426922148908285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9487618.post-1109809274897572232005-03-02T16:21:00.000-08:002005-03-02T16:21:14.896-08:00A Place For Us NationalA Place For Us NationalSteve Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06343188292905108225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9487618.post-1107874290729938802005-02-08T06:51:00.000-08:002005-02-08T06:51:30.730-08:00Michelle, Chris, Zell, Dr. Laura and MeBy Steve White

For most of my life, I’ve been an avid reader. That started very early in life, when my Dad used to read stories to us kids before we went to bed. That practice developed into a strong love of words and consequentially a large vocabulary on my part.

That love of words and reading also lead to frequent listening to radio & tv talk shows. I grew accustomed to Phil, Oprah, and Sally, as well as to Bill Handel, Larry Elder, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Heck, I’m so old that I actually remember listening to talk-radio shows of a character named Joe Pyne, who broadcast over station KABC in the LA area back in the ‘60s.

Anyway, I’ve grown to be pretty tolerant and flexible, when it comes to my listening and viewing habits. I’ll listen to pretty much ANYone, as long as they’re halfway intelligent. “Maybe I can learn something” I’ve often told myself.

Still, I do have my boundaries, and now there are some people I can’t listen to or watch on a regular basic, just because they are too unreasonable.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is one of those people. I used to listen to her program on the radio every day. She seemed so wise and practical. Then one day, a reader called in who was what he described as a “completed Jew.” The listener had come to recognize Jesus Christ as his Messiah, largely because of an organization called Jews For Jesus. You’d have thought the listener had committed sacrilege. Dr. Laura exploded in rage, and opined that TRUE Jews cannot accept Jesus as their Savior, and Jews For Jesus is committing an atrocity by “proselytizing.” Whew!! – Dr. Laura came down so hard and came across as such a bigot, that I stopped regularly listening to her show. I still listen to her once in awhile, and I freely recognize the great work she’s done in the past, but I will no longer be an avid listener of hers.

The same situation applies to Chris Matthews, the host of “Hardball” on MSNBC. I’ve been a frequent viewer of Chris’ program, and have gotten used to his rapid-fire, sometimes gruff delivery. Then came the Elections of 2004. Matthews was obviously in the Liberal camp, but one day in August, he outdid himself. The guest on that segment was conservative journalist Michelle Malkin, and she was talking about the Swift Boat Veterans. Chris was rude and abrasive, cutting Michelle off repeatedly and loudly. At one point, I saw Michelle’s head droop and her cheeks redden. I thought:” Oh my gosh; she’s going to cry!” Somehow, Michelle held her peace and got through the interview.

A few weeks later, Chris Matthews had Zell Miller (conservative Democratic Senator) on his program. Chris was pulling the same routine with Zell, and Senator Miller wasn’t about to have it. As I recall, Zell told Chris to “Shut up! You’re not going to bully me like you did that young lady.” Obviously, Zell was referring to Michelle, and I agreed 100% with him. That program reinforced my horror at the bigotry and ill manners evidenced by Chris Matthews, and I just knew I couldn’t be a regular listener to the “Hardball” program anymore. Again, as with Dr. Laura, I check in to “Hardball” occasionally, but I’ve never listened/watched more than a few minutes. Chris Matthews is free to promote whatever opinion he chooses, but because of the vicious, partisan bias in his program, I choose to not make it regular fare for myself. It seems to me that I’d be poisoning my mind by listening to much of Mr. Matthews.

Your opinions and responses are welcome.rfrazierhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00045426922148908285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9487618.post-1106836802170250212005-01-27T06:40:00.000-08:002005-01-27T06:40:02.170-08:00The Ghosts of President Woodrow Wilson and the Jim Crow Laws live in Barbara Boxer, Senator Reid, and Senator Byrd. After watching The Documentary “Unforgiving Blackness” about the life story of Boxer Jack Jackson, we saw something that made us understand why the ghosts of President Woodrow Wilson and operation of The Jim Crow Laws live in Barbara Boxer, Senator Reid, and Senator Byrd. Time will tell if these three are as racist as they seem.

This Documentary shows the reason there was such sweeping racism. When Woodrow Wilson was running for office he promised to get rid of racism and help the cause of the Blacks in America. Instead he had people on his cabinet who rode with the KKK (which means they probably murdered someone) and he pushed forward the KKK’s vision to keep Blacks and Whites separate. He even had the Senate and his cabinet watch and approve of the filth of the movie “The Birth Of A Nation’. That means because they thought a Black Man like Jack Johnson should not be able to have more than most White people then and even most people today make and should not prefer White Women they needed to have anything they could to justify to keep him in his place. That is what Boxer, Reid and Byrd want to seem to do.

People back then wanted to keep Johnson from succeeding and that is just the ways many in Congress and in Businesses and the Senate today are showing their racism. The Woodrow Wilson’s of America were Angry that Jack Johnson didn’t say “Yes sir Massa I won’t be with a White Woman again”, and Boxer wants Rice to say “I was wrong about Iraq, Massa Boxer, and I won’t do that anymore”. People, Condi and us should stick together and let the people with dark spirits (of every ethnic back ground)go down together if they so choose not to change.

The NAACP, Maxine Waters, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Diane Watson who called Ward Connerly names because he is interracially married and every other organization or people who claim to be an advocate against racism, can no longer talk about racism, because they no longer have grounds. They say racist thingsand have never gotten fired or asked to resign. They definitely should ask Trent Lott for an apology. If they don’t care about the character of good people like Condoleeza Rice and others being degraded then they surely cannot speak about racism in any other case, because it is blatant and open racism that’s being displayed, and no one has come to their defense, I guess, there is no money in really trying to get rid of racism, so they’re not interested in when someone does something wrong to another human being no matter the skin color. Many have strived to get to where Condoleeeza Rice has gotten to and now they are trying to tear her down. The Black Racists don’t even want to see other Blacks succeed, and now everyone can see what they are made out of. They have cried wolf so many times, that now the real thing is here and they don’t know what to do, because maybe their hands are greased by the same people whose actions they claim to be against.

If it’s not evident by now, President Bush isn’t the one dividing our country it’s the like of Boxer, Reid, Kennedy, Kerry and others like them. Let’s get it straight who the real culprits are. People like Armstrong Williams, Michelle Malkin, we and many others are today’s new Abolitionists. We want to see things change for the good, and expose the evil, whoever is doing it.

There is still persecution against
Interracial Couples and yet most of us endure and
still love our countrymen in spite of the way we are
sometimes treated. Most of us are living our lives
successfully. Recently The Larry Elder Show on Fox 5
in Las Vegas concentrated on mostly the tragic and
troubled interracial families. A successful large
interracial family was featured at the last minutes of
the program.

Ruth and I worked for over 20 years to eliminate that
strategy that the positive interracial subject is more
appealing than the tragic down trodden interracial
relationships that the producers on most of these
programs continue to put us in. We are in 2005 and
it’s still an issue, which in our opinion means that
the producers of these programs may hold a lot of
racism in their hearts. After all if this is the best
we can do, we surely know they don’t go around talking
about Dr. Martin Luther King’s Dream, because in our
opinion Dr. King was way ahead of the young producers
in Hollywood who may not have even been born at the
time of Dr. King. Yet we endure. They (the decision
makers) are way behind the times of what’s going on in
our society, especially when it comes to showing
accuracy in how far interracial Couples have come. All
three of our children were taught to be Colorblind and
they are all interracially married. There is a large
Interracial Family population in Las Vegas, but they
seem to feel if people don’t talk about it they won’t
have to deal with us.

But hold, on the progress is not entirely The
mainstream Media’s fault. We fault Halle Berry, Sidney
Portier, and Diana Ross who seem to be too puffed up
with their own egos to even care about if the world
makes progress in racial harmony. I’m not talking
about identifying yourself as Black so the Blacks
organizations can honor them with their NAACP Award,
because that organization has a lot to be desired. If
these celebrities really cared, when Taye Dibbs
received Death Threats simply because he’s
interracially married, we could have nipped this major
sore in the bud. Those with the connections could have
spoken out. They have something to say about race in
general, but their very lives are showing racial
equality, but now they don’t want to say anything. I
guess it’s a case of “I got mine so you have to get
yours.” That’s what we every biracial child is being
told including them and their own. Or they are just
still too scared and want to remain silent at the cost
of the little one’s future. That has made us still
have a struggle in the trenches and even if it may
seem like our voices are very faint, one day it will
ring loud.

But you see it’s not that simple, these people want only their rights to spread throughout our country like a plague, but they could care less about the fact that fair and square we won the rights for our values to be exhibited throughout the land we live in, and the majority which was right in this case won.

The one thing we don’t understand is why these people want to muddy up our land with this garbage, waste our tax dollars, whine to our government then say that their life should not be dictated to by our Government. Hello, we are the Government and those people in Washington D. C. represent us. I know lobbyists have many of our representatives in their back pockets and/or are puppets for them, but we who have morals and values should continue to stand up for what the foundation of our country is about.

The rhetoric doesn’t stop there. These people (not all those in the homosexual lifestyle) are not stopping there. They started out talking like they were victims, now they are telling all of us what we’d better accept. I say this is a fight to the finish.

Our world will not be destroyed by water this time like with the great flood of Noah, because God made a promise about that and he left us with a sign to prove it. This world will be destroyed by fire this time, and great will it be. Until that time, we will do everything we can to let people know the truth as best as we can explain it. It shocks us sometimes, but in spite of them we still pray for those who persecute us and despitefully use us. For further biblical references on this matter go to Amos 4:10-12, Genesis 18:20, Romans 1-18-27 and 31 and 32. We’ll talk about who has the right to judge in a future blog.

First many in this movement cannot seem to get it through their heads that their Lifestyle is not a Civil Rights matter. I blame President Clinton for that, because ever since he said “It depends on what the meaning of is, is” everybody and their mother seems not to know the meaning of anything, anymore. It was also an open door for people to interject their atrocious sense of meaning on the rest of us. We’d better get back to basics, because these people are not going to stop until they are a main factor in destroying us all just like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. And just in case you think that this that is only talked about in the old testament, let us enlighten you a bit. In The Book Of Revelation Chapter, Jesus is speaking about sexual immorality in Revelation 2:18 and 19. The Laws of the land are the only things that Interracial Families have that qualifies our existence in peace and that is because of the color of our skin and ethnicity only. Race is the catalyst to constitute Civil Rights not Woman’s rights, or Homosexual Rights.

The news reported recently that the 1948 law legalizing Interracial Marriage in California said something like “people could get married to who they wish” and therefore homosexuals think they can use that law to justify their right to be married. A few years back I remember they were saying they didn’t want marriage, just the right to will their property over to the person they want to will it to, and they wanted to be protected from being beat up. They always had those rights, just like us all. However the law at that time definitely wasn’t speaking about homosexuality or it wouldn’t be an issue now. Back then, people in the judicial system had some sense; now most of the people making judicial decisions don’t seem to have any sense. Check in for part II tomorrow.

What's the use in voting? Only the people who have enough money to keep trying to overturn laws to fit their lifestyle seem count these days.

This New Year started with a bang. Already on Sunday News 1/2/05, it was reported that in California some in the Homosexual Movement found a Interracial Law from 1948, that talks about people marrying whom they will. In 1948 they surely weren't speaking about those who are trying to change all moral laws to immoral ones. In my humble opinion they are trying to use the Civil Rights Laws to justify willing their property to their lover, or whatever else they want to whine about.

If you can leave property to a dog, cat or bird, a person can surely leave their property to their lover. They just want to diminish the entire meaning of marriage. I personally blame the fact that President Bush started this nonsense with not knowing what the meaning of is, is. Now people don't know the meaning of marriage or anything else. They who claim the government should not be in their business are the same ones crying to the government to change the laws to suit their agenda, so that whatever my husband I voted on and won, both in California and Nevada is now threatened and maybe not worth the paper and time it took to stand up for our beliefs, but we will keep standing up for them until we cannot stand anymore. We write about this in our book "Life Through The Eyes Of An Interracial Couple.
You can always tell when God is a fashion statement in
our Society. He’s always been on the same throne, but
the media has really put him there after President
Bush won reelection. To show you how phony people in
America can be after 9/11 people were in Church, and
all of the Media was talking about God and everyone
was in Church, because they were scared. The real
Christians who don’t mess around came out when they
voted in this year’s election. Yes many of them have
been asleep, but they surely did wake up when they
became sick of the nonsense that was being portrayed.
You see just like all the Kings Horses and all of the
King’s Men couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty together again.
The celebrities and all of their underhanded work,
money and power couldn’t put the man (many of them
didn’t even seem to like) when God spoke to us we
answered the call.

I believe President Bush was called to put America
back on track, and there may never be another person
like him to be President the rest of this century. The
message was clear to the Barbra Streisands, Michael
Moores, and P Diddy’s of this world, that it won’t and
don’t matter how much money and connections had, God
has more! He brought his people out to stand up for
what this country is really supposed to stand for. You
don’t have to accept it or believe it, but it’s a
fact.
West?
Ann Coulter was right when she blasted Senator Reid
and others recently when they wrote and said negative
things about Clarence Thomas and Condi Rice. Ann and
Laura Ingram have been right on target when it comes
to the people who are using issues to hide behind,
because they know they would be blasted for being out
right racist so they find anything they can to say to
bring people down that they don’t like who’s trying to
make all of our lives better, and most of us who keep
up with the news read the quotes about Senator Reid
and what he said about Clarence Thomas. Steve and I
have been watching the cruel things people have been
saying about Clarence Thomas every since his
confirmation to the United States Supreme Court. Let
us bring down the smoke screen for those of you who
are just getting into Interracial Relationships or
don’t know what’s really going on. It’s really because
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is interracially
married. It may be that since Senator Reid came from
humble beginnings he may in fact be racist against
Clarence not only because of the marriage, but because
Justice Thomas’s skin is Black and has more power than
Senator Reid can ever hope to have.

If Senator Reid’s character is an example of what we
have in this country to make it stay the same as far
as race relations is concerned, he’s a prime example
of the KKK in 2005. Steve and I are convinced that
many of the people who were in the peace and civil
rights movements of the 60’s and 70’s who marched with
Dr. King are outright bigots themselves Black or
White. Just ask them what they would do if their child
married someone of another race mainly those with
Black or White skin and you see Dr. King’s Dream go
right down the drain. They will run for cover.

We believe those who have contacted us over the years
must be very frustrated that after over 20 years of
talk, very little progress has been made. Then for
those of us on the front line of the issues living it
every day with no bodyguards and such, but who have
important messages for the community are like we’re
behind 50 tons of ice, where we can be seen but not
heard. When people who already have made it
financially hog up the airways from people who want to
be a prosperous as they are, then it shows a
prejudice. If people don’t want to see or hear
something they will cut it off. Those who don’t have a
message to society should take a seat and be scheduled
on a program when there is nothing else to talk about.

Take Paris the H girl. Do you really think people
like her? She wants to have a baby so she can dress
her like she dresses according to the Las Vegas Review
journal. What a disgrace. How could the news people
even care enough to write what she thinks? Well it’s
simple, is because she’s the H girl and her parents
have money and clout. So the answer for most of us is
that most people hate her actions, but because she has
the Hilton name behind hers, she can get her sleazy
act on any program and write a book and get it
published through a major publisher when she has
nothing to say that would add to making our society a
better one. Paris can model and do anything else she
want and get paid for it. I think she should donate
that money to people in our American Communities that
need it, and want to make a difference in our society.
Somehow we think she’s too selfish for that. But wait,
what about the pundits who speak on issues when it
seems that they haven’t seen the public in ages? The
only public they know is what someone reports about
and they only know from some research someone else has
done. I bet most of these pendants couldn’t go through
the things we’ve gone through in the workplace and
live to tell about it.
The Same Old Celebrities On Every Program Year in and
Year Out!! Part I
Don’t you get tired of the same old celebrities being
featured on the same old programs and talk shows?
Aren’t you tired of 50 new talk shows and radio
programs on the air featuring celebrities who go from
who go show to show signifying very little, most of
the time? There is nothing for new Book Authors,
nothing for new Music Producers, Composers, Artists,
etc. We who are Interracial Leaders are snubbed year
after year on major News and Talk Show programs on
major issues that concern us. That’s why reality shows
have really taken off. People want to see real things
that are not too stupid. We have been monitoring
programs news radio and TV for almost 8 years. Almost
every show news programs air has spots for every
celebrity and their new book and their new movie, or
their new product, but those of who are really working
and are experts in our fields cannot get that chance.

Do News Producers want us to kill someone to get on
the front pages so they then can pay attention? It’s
not worth it. Many Cable News Hosts are making a lot
of progress on our issues, but there are still a lot
more that needs to be done. They need to know the harm
they are doing in preventing major dialog on issues
they talk about everyday without our society getting
sufficient answers from the same people who really
just don’t have a clue. For instance these same hosts
have everyone else on talking about issues that
pertain to us (Interracial/Multiracial people), but
they don’t have us on. Are they racist? Do they wear
masks to pretend they are concerned about America
being equal? Do they not know that the words of Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. are not only poetic, but are
patterned by God’s Word? Why do almost all hosts in
the country quote Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., yet they
don’t seem to be living up to what Dr. King was really
talking about as far as racial equality. Are they just
lying to all of us making us think they care about
what we’re working to do in America? With all of the
mouths in this country on all the stations in America,
the racial problem could have been solved a long time
ago. So the show producers and Camera people, Editors,
Advertisers News Editors and heads of Papers and
Magazines have some answering to do.

We say enough is definitely enough. When the Anchors
and Media Hosts on most of the Cable news have an
expert let’s say from the so called-black community 7
out of 10 times they have Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton
are featured as experts (they’ve been jokes for
years). They don’t speak for anyone in my family who
has black skin, but they are hailed as Leaders. When
those of us who are experts on race relations try to
counter whatever stupid remarks about a subject, I
guess we’re not heard because we haven’t gone out and
killed someone to get on the front pages of the
newspaper. Most hosts won’t have you on their program
unless you are headlining in the news. How stupid.
Come back and read Part II tomorrow.
