I won't dare to go out in case some flying roof tiles hit me or some tree branch come crashing on me. You'd never know how lucky I am on this kind of things..

So I stared at the strong wind swaying and rocking the trees from my window, of which the tightly locked glass was clattering like it's gonna break off any minute. Here's the view from my window, though it's kinda hard to see if the tree's were swaying or not.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8x9ZHsc_I/AAAAAAAAAS8/PXUxbg5Pbsw/s400/DSCN4322.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582209770714098" />

But then you can see the effects of the tremendously strong wind on the tree branches here. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8x90hkVEI/AAAAAAAAATE/6dk5IRbX_Rk/s400/DSCN4323.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582217126990914" />
See? that thick branch was broken off the tree. What if it hit me when it was torn off? Scary..

Luckily the buildings are all intact. The big bad wolf can't blow away the concrete house! <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8x-jJJwaI/AAAAAAAAATU/81adfm5kXAY/s400/DSCN4326.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582229641052578" />

But sadly if you look closely, some other things got blown off their position.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8yGWOuICI/AAAAAAAAATk/Fw2RrONzsaQ/s400/DSCN4328.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582363613700130" />

Yup. the bicycles all look damn pityful..<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8x-20HGII/AAAAAAAAATc/HB_Puhs5yI0/s400/DSCN4327.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582234921506946" />

Even mine fell to the side due to domino effect, under the bicycle shelter, which is at bottom left of the picture. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8x-O6GFUI/AAAAAAAAATM/p-aHg7g8wQ8/s400/DSCN4325.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582224209188162" />That's me in the reflection with GACC shirt XD I took the pictures indoors so don't mind it :p

Then when it's about noon, the typhoon was said to have pass over to the tohoku area, which is in the north so it should be safe to go out. So I went over to my lab to set up my desktop (provided by the lab woot!) using Ubuntu. It took me very long cos after setting up the pc, me and my tutor found out that the DVD drive slot just won't budge.. So in the end I have to set up another one with working DVD drive. It's only pentium 4 my goodness.. oh well. Not that I'm complaining.

So after much frustration, I managed to set up half of the settings needed, and then a lab mate of mine, who's a really nice japanese girl showed me the best scene ever during sunset! we went to the roof top and saw this amazing view of Mt. Fuji!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8yHIz5LjI/AAAAAAAAAT0/OxE2tQiCcyE/s400/CIMG1382.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582377191386674" />Isn't it cool? I din expect to see it from here, but she told me that it's only about 200km away so it can be seen when the clouds are gone, thanks to typhoon 18!

And here's the Mt. Fuji with the huge ass antenna dish on the left which is always revolving.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8yHc0rlyI/AAAAAAAAAT8/XCzhIF02sp8/s400/CIMG1383.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582382563399458" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ss8yG7Qy-4I/AAAAAAAAATs/go9QcvV3pBU/s400/CIMG1381.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390582373554518914" />
My frustration was blown off completely thanks to this beautiful scenery. Really hope to be able to go climb Mt. Fuji someday!

And so this is the end of the report on typhoon 18!

HELLO JAPAN!!

Hello everyone! I've safely arrived in narita airport on 3rd of October (Friday) 7 o'clock in the morning. All of us went our separate ways in the airport too quickly before a group picture can be taken. Anyhow wish all of us will enjoy our new adventure in Japan!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SsnMQKzH0YI/AAAAAAAAARk/RnvpfuvwW-s/s400/DSCN4294.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389063007274258818" />

GuangYi, Eka (a new friend from Indonesia who's in the teacher's program) and I were then guided all the way to Tsukuba University by the uni's agents. Thanks to Ms. Matsumi at the airport for purchasing bus ticket to Tsukuba Center, and Ms Yuriko and Ms Ayumi for hailing taxi for us to get to the university dormitory, we were able to reach our destinations respectively before 12pm.

Then Yik Chia, a fellow Malaysian Mext Scholar who came to Japan in April helped me to do registration for my dormitory. My room is on the 4th floor and we carried my 40+kg luggages up by stairs.. But that's nothing compared to when I saw my room.. It's really like empty, except for a window (no curtain!), table, a swivel chair, a bed and a basin. OMG not even a closet to begin with.. So being too tired to care, we just dumped everything into my room and think about the things I need to buy later. damn pek chek (exasperated) I tell you.

But the worse is yet to come. It's raining and i was drenched on the way to the dorm. So I'd think of bathing but then, there's only the public bath available! and it's not open until 5pm! *faint* Luckily Yik Chia let me used her bathroom (damn sad mine does not come with one) and then off we went for lunch.

I'm super grateful that we have Yik Chia and Radzian who brought us to go shop for stuff. There's plenty of convenient shops which are seriously convenient, cos I can get almost everything I need from one place, if i don't want to compare prices. But I do, so we went to several shops to get all the necessary things for basic survival. Here's some pictures for you to see what my room is like.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SsnV7OfABYI/AAAAAAAAARs/QaNLhk9KKes/s400/DSCN4304.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389073642602628482" /> Do remember that everything besides table, chair, bed and the window is self bought. seen a white pole across the room? well it's used as below.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SsnV7hkMoQI/AAAAAAAAAR0/TEKfddrW25k/s400/DSCN4305.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389073647724699906" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SsnY-lD2i5I/AAAAAAAAASU/yn29N0yX048/s400/DSCN4316.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389076998737267602" />
I don't have a balcony so I have to hang dry my clothes on the pole.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SsnV8FYKM8I/AAAAAAAAAR8/XQOSAWB6Urw/s400/DSCN4308.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389073657337885634" />
Here's the other end of the room. My LAN cable is connected to the port on top of my door. how greatly "convenient" is that? In the end I had to get another 10M LAN cable cos mine was simply too short for this.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SsnV8rM0hYI/AAAAAAAAASE/0aLkaQfF-SQ/s400/DSCN4310.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389073667490874754" />
This is where I wash and drink from.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SsnV9A2_9fI/AAAAAAAAASM/OADjfVYvCz0/s400/DSCN4314.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389073673304929778" /> The good thing about my room is that it's clean and has got a nice view over looking the greens and a tennis court, which is too dark to be seen now, though it's just about 6pm when I took the photo.

Well, all in all the dormitory has toilet on all 4 floors (my room's on the highest floor) and has kitchen and washing machine on alternate floors. Best of all, I found that my dormitory block has 2 enclosed shower places! Omg it's like a god bless so I don't need to go naked in front of others. Even if it needs 100 yen for just 10 mins of shower time, I'd go for it even if I'm broke XD

So that's all for now! I'll upload more soon!

*edit* here's my window view at 12pm.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/Ssq2AJIxZzI/AAAAAAAAASc/qkYUtjNBI-8/s400/DSCN4318.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389320017671186226" />This is the straight out view from my window. the road goes out of campus and there's many convenient shops there. I've been waiting for this ever since completing my last semester in MMU, yearning for time to wind up faster. Yet now that it's just 2 days before departure, I feel nervous over this from head to toe.

So many people I love will be left behind, family, friends, and all the familiarity which I've taken for granted for so long. For the past few months I've been getting closer to my family members, getting updated with my friends and highschool mates, so that I could burn their image in my mind and recall when I'm there.

I'm really thankful to have met good and sincere friends all along the years in highschool and university life. You guys have painted my canvas of life with vivid colors. I won't forget the times we had as classmates, hostelmates, housemates, club and event committees, movie kaki, makan trip kaki, bday party goers, exam crammer and many more. Thank you especially, to Kristine, Loo Mun, Weiyong, Shin Dee, June and William for being there for me always.

But time flies, and there's so little time left when I realized that there's so many things that I could have done for my close friends and family. All I can do now is to pray and hope that people I love dearly will be well and healthy while I'm away.

Even though I'll be venturing into a completely new and strange place, starting over again, like the start of MMU life, just that now it's in a different country all together, please don't worry about me, because I'll be alright with kind people there lending a hand to help me settle down.

I'll be updating once I am connected to the internet. So for now I won't say farewell this time, but see you again soon!!

Under The Roof

Literally. Have you ever wonder how the space between the ceiling and the roof of your house looks like? When I was a kid, I used to stare up at the ventilation hole and think that if I stare long enough I'd see the monster living up there.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SrI7ooTdoXI/AAAAAAAAAPs/jw10pZFzOQo/s400/DSCN4255.JPG" border="0" alt="boogie man up there! So dad decided to fix our telephone line at home. It became problematic when the phone line is connected to the phone upstairs (my house is a double-storey) and disrupts the internet connection without fail. So dad, the super handy-man came to the rescue!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SrJEOHjfTBI/AAAAAAAAAQs/mZoMOEXE6-c/s400/DSCN4277.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382439513997921298" />
Dad's the coolest when it comes to fixing stuff XD

He went into the master room and slid a piece of the ceiling board off the side and went up the boogie man's hideout. I follow suit, and here's a picture on the way up.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SrI7pN1BcHI/AAAAAAAAAP0/bugGFz5ZT7Y/s400/DSCN4261.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382430083933892722" />
The lamp is so dusty, and everything else too up there.

Once I'm at the top of the ladder, I can't help looking down.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SrJENvl59PI/AAAAAAAAAQk/HJGLoDLWDn4/s400/DSCN4273.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382439507565606130" />
Ooohh.. getting dizzy.. not! haha. I'm not afraid of heights, but more of falling down and kissing the tiles. painful.. *wobble*

So turning my head up away from the scary sight, the arc of the roof came into view.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SrJEM26TXRI/AAAAAAAAAQU/22UmbEjTUeE/s400/DSCN4270.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382439492350336274" />
That's a fluorescent light at the bottom left which my dad installed so that boogieman can't lurk in the dark here.

Walking gingerly on the wood, dad reached the hub of telephone lines and start working on them, basically just rewiring and clamping them up with terminal caps.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SrJENQDyxtI/AAAAAAAAAQc/KMQuKkrJ2Rk/s400/DSCN4271.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382439499101030098" />

I didn't dare to walk up there, knowing my own clumsiness. one wrong step and off i go plundering down to my death. noo way. So I've only taken pictures standing on the ladder.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SrI7pjhsXpI/AAAAAAAAAP8/tGiPG-WkrvA/s400/DSCN4264.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382430089758400146" />
Here's a wooden support of the roof, with the blue-ish metal thing fixing the wood together.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SrI7qFmLHII/AAAAAAAAAQE/Le_c29q-PjI/s400/DSCN4268.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382430098903997570" />
And this is the water tank. So we came down safely and successfully have the phone upstairs ringing with the internet connection intact. Mission accomplished!

So that's all about the adventures of exposing the truth behind boogieman's hideout! Now that we are done with that, I feel more insecure knowing rats and cockroaches would easily take boogieman's place up there... >__<

Fixed the 'Read More' function!

I've had this function where i can hide/show my long-winded grandma story posts in just a click after discovering the javascript to do it last time, but it was malfunctioning somehow since a few weeks ago.

So today after googling for new codes for it, I've got to this page which has what I needed. Here's a reminder of how the peanut leaves are.

So last week my uncle had harvested most of them, while I was still in Singapore (will blog about it later!) and left only a few plants. My auntie had aired the peanuts, and served them steamed. Nothing beats organic peanut and steamed without that eeky yellow dye! Yet I really wanted to see the peanuts with roots attached, so today uncle pulled out a few of the remaining plants and show me. The whole plant is pulled out of the soil and the peanuts are revealed! See if you can count how many peanut pods are there in the picture below!

It takes about 3-4 months after the seeds are planted for the peanuts to ripen. So how do you plant a peanut plant? get the packets of peanut from kacang putih store and scatter them on the soil? well, of course the only thing that is gonna grow in number are ants :P

Each of the peanut pod as shown above has about 1-4 nuts. So in order to make them as seeds for the next round of planting, the pods are plucked off from the roots and will be aired/sun dried for a few days. This is to make sure it's harden and less susceptible to ants. Then the pods are cracked open to take out the nuts within. After that the dried nuts will be mixed with a layer of ant powder to prevent further attacks of ants when they are soiled. This is done like how you shake fries and pepper in a paper bag. Finally it's ready to be planted in the soil!

Here's a closer look of the peanuts.

So this is the end of the 2nd round of botanical show and tell from my backyard!

B4 Convo~

It's been a few days since I've arrived in KL. The haze is horrible and I get even more horrified when I see people wearing masks. sigh.

On Thursday I reached Hang Tuah station on the afternoon and met up with Weiyong to go collect our robes and do the registration stuff together in MMU Cyberjaya. We reached there at about half pass two, and got everything done by three. Lucky us for there's no queue required at all. Then the trip back to KL took around 2 hours due to the long wait for bus and KLIA transit. That's why I hate traveling in KL. It takes longer to travel than doing the thing you want to.

On Friday, I finished up the translating task, ate lunch then went to Sungai Wang to meet up with Loomun, June and William. They were buying presents for Suj and Cyc in Pavilion after lunch there, so I walked to join them too. well, again traveling took 1 hour before I get to see them. After browsing around and getting the right present, we went off to see G.I. Joe. It was really packed with CG actions but with kinda cheesy dramatic plot. But I'm really awed by the would be technology in the movie. 3D interactive hologram, the accelerator and even the cool spectacle Ana wore really got me high. As for real world progress, we have touchable holography now in Tokyo seriously, where there are ultrasonic waves shoots out to create pressure sensation on you when you touch the hologram. Here's the video from pink tentacle.

So after the movie, we had dinner with suj in the foodcourt, where i had this spicy mini beef steamboat from the little taiwan store. It's really good with meatballs, lean beef, corns, some greens and Cellophane noodles or called 冬粉(dong fen). Loo Mun ate Vietnam vege-salad-ish kind of dish, which is totally not her kind of choice at all usually. She was afraid of getting sick, that's why she sacrificed the tomyam she wanted for the greens lol.

Then we went to Lowyat to scout for digicam and prices. Nothing much except everyone got what they wanted there. Then we parted and I went back on monorail, and took bus to return to my aunt's house after one hour plus.

Saturday = lazying around waiting for parents day. I was so free that I typed several emails to my friends in Japan, one usually takes up an hour or so due to my poor japanese grammar. and by the way, I got my TOEFL results from the online website today. Well although I didn't get full marks, it's more than enough to qualify for the entrance requirement for Tsukuba University haha. So who wants the TOEFL guide book to score I bought earlier? It's as good as new and moreover it really helped to score! *wink wink*

Now there's only one day left to convo! Some how I dread the draggy event and can't wait for it to be over soon enough. I'm only interested in taking pictures with friends and family so why can't we skip right to that part instead? lol.

Anyway, I hope to see you all if you manage to be there!

Recently...

Many great people had passed away, like the king of pop, Michael Jackson, the first female president of Philippines (in fact, first in Asia), Corazon Aquino, and also our great local commercial/movie director, Yasmin Ahmad. All these people will be greatly missed, as 80's babies practically grew up listening to MJ's songs and watching the moonwalk dance. Meanwhile Aquino made a huge impact by having an amazingly peaceful transition to democracy in her country from years of authoritarian ruling, after which her husband, the opposition leader was assassinated. But then it was Yasmin Ahmad's death that sank my heart the most. I have seen all the commercials she made for Petronas and others, most focusing on the diversity of our society in Malaysia, and how it doesn't really matter as long as we understand and make peace with one another.

From what I saw on tv, she was said to have been educated in a Chinese primary school before, thus the more she is able to relate on living with different races, and integrated that in her commercials and most of her movies like sepet, gubra and other later movies. It can be said that her life is just like her movies, as she was married with a Chinese too.

Some rumors has been going on saying that Yasmin Ahmad is a trans-gender, or an intersexual (IS). Well I was wary that someone out there just wanted to defame her, but then there seem to be some facts behind the gossip if you google around for pictures. Anyhow, Yasmin Ahmad is a really respectful director for portraying the values and virtues that we Malaysians should treasure and so, the surface doesn't matter at all as long as what we see within her touches our hearts. Moreover, her spoken English was perfect! I was very impressed indeed when I see the 'Yasmin's Muallaf Q&A Session at Picturehouse, Singapore' on youtube, which the link was found in Kristine's blog.

In conclusion, I should really start watching all her movies and re-watch all the commercials on youtube. She would have done more amazing things with her pending movies, but then it's fated that we wouldn't see anymore of her new movies then... May she rest in peace and we will miss her very much, especially for the CNY and other festive commercials.

Pain in the Back

I've just updated the last post with more pictures after coming back from the clinic in town. My back has been having this annoying bruising pain since I came back from MMU at the end of May. I've been doing stretching, jogging and a little thigh exercise to hopefully shake off some weight, but instead I guess I've strained my back spine/muscle. Nice move, Lisa. Sigh.

My Godmother had tried to massage the pain off my back but to no avail. So I went to the doc's this morning to get a number, return in the afternoon, waited again for about 40 minutes for my turn (the most popular doctor in town) and got out after 5 minutes of diagnosis. Bought with RM25, these are the colorful candies I have to eat 3 times a day for 2 weeks to hopefully cure the ache.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SnQCgHzi35I/AAAAAAAAAN4/bp9tzpcuKlg/s400/DSCN4230.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364915806979415954" />

And here's Hiro feeling as dead as I do, cos my Godmother had went to KL without him.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SnQDKK2yofI/AAAAAAAAAOA/nYbhMi6jwVk/s400/DSCN4224.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364916529352843762" />

Greens in my backyard

In this post I'm going to have a show-and-tell on my backyard sowed and plodded by my uncle. Tada!

It is actually a stretch of land covered with weeds, which the government owns but have nothing better to do with it than letting it rot. Far behind it would be the vast jungle with a really nice waterfall recreation area called Burmese Pool.

When I was little, my grandfather had a tool shed built out of zinc roof and wooden planks there. then around the shed were a lot of Durian trees. Our family used to eat durians from our backyard during its season, but then the municipal ppl came and chopped off and demolished everything there to make way for a so called new housing area but end up suspended instead.

So when my uncle and godmother come and live with us, he started clearing the weeds and make a small vege haven there, planting chilies, pandan leaves, xiu pak choi, bayam, long beans, lady's finger and others.

Let's start off and see the cute chilies plants!

And there's purple ones too which are super hot!

Here's my uncle watering the plants. No more Neet for me *cries*
It was a short but fun time *wave hanky*

But still there's not much changes in my current lifestyle.. wearing pajamas whole day at home, hugging my lappie in the living room and playing with Hiro once in a while, besides making lunch delivery to my parents in the afternoon, doing some chores and jogging for a bit in the evening.

It's practically the same mundane routine but yeah. I've gotten a work-from-home job! Specifically it's a manga translation job. The job scope is to translate the original manga from Japanese to English and apply them on the manga conversation bubbles. Sounds easy but it's a really time consuming and brain squashing job. Well at least I am forced to learn new japanese vocabularies and at the same time getting paid!

Thanks to my lil' sister's help, I've manage to finish the first assignment in 2 days. There's about 20 pages of gag doujin with fair amount of conversation bubbles lol. Then I have to re-learn the font setting and sound effect wordings, since last time in alpha years the only scanlation practice I had was in Chinese. so I went to The Idiot's Guide to Editing Manga to get all the fonts needed and some basic know-hows. Neat~

Anyway I've got my pay! It's only 15USD but what the heck. It's still my first pay from a job I really enjoy. So hopefully there will be much more to come! Ganbarimasu!

Hiro!!

It's been a few days since the last post, because I've been busy playing RO2 and lazying at home lol. They have their own swimming pool leh, everyone one of those highschools, even though they only use it for like 2 months each year, june and september nia, according to the 4 seasons. I do wonder why we don't even have a pool in university, let alone highschools when we having sunny weather all year round over here. *grumbles*

and these are the houses in the town looking all cramped up. Did I mention that the roads in the housing area are super sempit too? It's like only 1 lane and you have to stop at the side letting the opposite way's car to pass barely. That's why car license is so expensive and hard to get in Japan.. I won't even dare to drive there!

The Hekinan city's flower is 花しょうぶ(Hana shoubu) or commonly known as Iris. It's abit bitter but has rich green tea flavour. the もち(mochi) at the side is suppose to be eaten before drinking the tea, so that you will savour the maccha's richness fully.

A quarter of Hekinan City is covered by paddy fields and other plantations, so we went to a farm, in which we are standing in the corn field.

We even get to harvest the humongous onions! Not to mention potatoes too! we were struggling to pull and dig them off the ground and rose victorious XD

That's about it for the tour pictures in Hekinan City~
So next up will be random pics!

This is Makudonarudo. If you say Mc Donald there no one will understand you. Anyway most importantly it's the menu!! got Bacon Burger aka Pork! XD in case you din notice it's the 4th from the top left. Besides there's Cheese Katsu too, on the bottom left, aka Pork!! *bliss* btw the Prawn burger is nice too lol. the cashier was nice enuf to hold up the menu for me to take pic *sampat* XD

And do you know they use bullet train to deliver your sushi in 回転寿司 (kaitensushi) shop? very efficient. and not to mention you use touch screen to order too, but that's available in msia so I won't show the pic la.

Oh and this was what my host family fed me for Welcoming party on the first night. Each carp represents a boy, with the upper and biggest carp as the eldest son.

<img border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346077108153185474" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SjEUzh1RdMI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/CKh0wLImvj0/s400/DSCN2522.JPG" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; It is said that if you drink from the streams you will get either longevity, beauty or success in studies, from left to right respectively. if you drink all it will lead to misfortune due to your greediness lol.

And this is another must go place for young people, called 地主神社 (Jishu-jinja), a love shrine :p this is the place where there's a pair of rocks 60 feet apart and if you managed to walk from one to another blindfolded then you will find your true love. Too bad we din get to go there due to time constraint *cries*

After getting my share of お守り (omamori) or charm amulets for souvenirs, we went ahead to the 東大寺 (Toudai-ji) in Nara, and yes it's where there's alot of deers waiting to chew off any paper material from you.

This is the entrance, with deers among the crowd behind me if you noticed XD.

And we of course would take picture of them like mad, but they had gotten used to it.

Omg it only has one horn nia! and yes it's giving us the "Where's my 100 yen biscuit? go get me my biscuit from the vendor machine dammit!" look.

So after being chased by the deers, we seek refuge in the temple, which is the largest wooden building in the world, and having the worlds biggest great buddha statue in it. *thank buddha*

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SjEyEg4esvI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/defndFgQEf4/s400/DSCN3564.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346109285793182450" />
It seems that in order to get good fortune we have to go through the hole at a pillar behind the buddha which is said to be the same size as the statue's nostril. I din wan't to get stuck inbetween it so I'll pass ^^;

After Nara we went back to Heikinan city and so this is it for the visiting trip around Kyoto. It was first used in the United Kingdom but its use has spread to other countries, including Japan, China and South Korea.

In Japan, the classification comprises people aged between 15 and 34 who are unemployed, unmarried, not enrolled in school or engaged in housework, and not seeking work or the technical training needed for work. The ‘NEET group’ is not a uniform set of individuals but consists of those who will be NEET for a short time while essentially testing out a variety of opportunities and those who have major and often multiple issues and are at long term risk of remaining disengaged.

As plucked from Wikipedia.

After finishing my last paper, I am proud to say that I now fit the bill to be called a NEET! It's been two weeks (or was it three? time flies) since my last paper had ended, and you bet I've been having fun through and through until now.

To recall back, right after exam on Tuesday I had dinner with Shuyin and Lynn in kokiya, leaving poor loomun at home cracking her brains for her final paper on thursday. Then Wednesday we had a class gathering in Seoul garden, about 16 of us there which was alot of fun where we kinda make signature gestures of our lecturers throughout our course and guess who it was. The next day we had a close fren's bbq gathering in Alan's house and that's cool too while busy writing/signing Anne's and jon's sigma books. Then Friday whole day is spent in Muar, with William, Jun, CP, Weiyong, Loomun and Suj. The food was really great there, where we went to the famous street of hawker food for otak-otaks and half way to yong peng for the mouth watering yam ring basket. In the morning I went out for branch with Motor uncle and his family at the Shun Fat Bak Kut Teh restaurant in town.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SjDEt2GEwMI/AAAAAAAAAHo/tvgVsHHMwzQ/s400/DSCN4039.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345989049582928066" />
The motor uncle had been helping me uncountable times throughout my years in Melaka, although he's abit on the rough side and always pulling my leg whenever I see him.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/SjDEtrEgoiI/AAAAAAAAAHg/86_gvxyfdcA/s400/DSCN4036.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345989046623576610" />
I'll really miss his 2 kids Ah Hock and Ah Pei too. Before we parted I gave them all the GACC sponsor stuffs leftovers.

Then after clearing the house completely (took several hours to move our boxes of stuff accumulated for 4 years @.@) and getting back our deposits from the agent, Mr. Sanjay, who is going to be married end of june *super busy*, we went around the house once more time, and left our home for 4 years. So goodbye, our Melaka home!

Before Loomun and I went to the bus sentral, we had dinner in Sakura House, which was not really that splendid after all. Wat you pay is wat you get i suppose. Won't really recommend it to people but hey, i'll leaving melaka di so nvm!

After 6-7 hours of bus trip *backache* I'm back to my beloved raintown. It was 3.30am when i reached but yey the HoShin (raingod in hokkien) who always triggers the 'rain' switch whenever she wash her clothes is finally back to her hometown.
Home sweet home~

To everyone I know throughout the past 5 years, I'm glad to have you as my classmates/friends during my life in MMU. I will treasure the moments we have together and will miss you all dearly. Even if our paths may not cross again, the times we had always hold true to me. Good luck in all your future headings and see you at MMU convocation in August!

<img width='1' height='1' I am abit lazy to upload pictures from my pc to picasa or photobucket or even flickr so I'll leave the sidebar as it is now.

Among the widgets which I'm most satisfied with are the blog archive calendar and the label cloud. Those were the applications that I had always wanted in my blog since last time but dun have the know how to realize them. *happy*

It was very tedious tagging all of my blog post, wasting like 2-3 hours just by doing it. Looking back on all my blog post since 2005, I notice that:

1. I have put on alot of weight
2. My command of english has deteriorated exponentially
3. Most of my posts are rants, if not about exams then it's about assignments =_=
4. I can rant on so much petty stuffs that I feel like killing myself reading them
5. I miss CG-ing
6. My mom looks so young 3 years ago *reminds self to bear-hug her when home*
7. It brings back memory when looking back on outings and birthday parties
8. Feels old when reading the genki posts by my younger self.
9. Makes me want to get back to the people i used to be very close with but got drifted apart in time.
10. When was my last YamCha session!?

It's kinda sad if we just go off our own separate path before having a last gathering. My last semester is all about fyp and assignments and exams only. Moreover I had only 2 subjects so the time i spend in the campus was so little, let alone meeting friends or visiting their events. Hopefully will get to gather with everyone before I leave man!

Anyhow, off to a lighter topic! I've uploaded Sakura pictures taken in Japan courtesy of my host family as well as a new friend, who is a super senior in Tsukuba University, the one i'll be going to this october XD!

This is taken by Ms Yap, who's doing her doctorate there, around Tsukuba University.
I wanna walk under the sakura trees everyday!! Actually I got tired cos of my long winded style of writing, and the inertia snowballed every time when I attempt to update. So now I'll start off again with shorter posts so that I don't get tired of it that soon.

The main updates on my life, picking up from the last post, is that I am going to graduate from MMU in less than a week's time! That's a huge leap of update there lol, but I'm kinda lazy to recount everything that had happened up until now.

So some major events would be applying for the Japanese Government aka monbusho scholarship for postgraduate studies, leading to the mind-wrecking long wait for results of written test, interviews and replies from japan universities. Meanwhile I did my internship in an automation company in Melaka, learning not much on automation ironically, but more on PIC microchip programming. None the least I learn something about working life, where you will be totally exhausted for any entertainment after work and you'll ask why it isn't a saturday everyday.

After 3 months of training I got off the hook and continue on for my final year project, which is to design a humanoid robot structure. Not to mention skipping almost 80% of the lecture/tutorial classes. *proud* Of course everyone else does about the same.. maybe just abit less compared to mine. Well at least I didn't get barred, which is the main point.

With all the toiling done, I've finally gotten the scholarship! I will be studying in Japan this coming October, so dun envy me k XD It's one of the reasons why I am blogging again, to make you all drool on my stay there lol. Anyway, somebody should start a blog too since it's Toudai she's going *stares*.

And the other thing is that my robot is ALIVE!!! well, at least it can do movement pre-programmed. It's called Frog.E, name courtesy of Thye Shin. See the robot video below! Too bad i can't make it to dance hare-hare yukai or do any significant anime pose. no time >_<"

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7eeS4FSFsbk/ShRIJ6n_ZaI/AAAAAAAAADI/DLm2tXv9wxQ/s320/DSC03280.JPG" alt="Frog.E isnt it cute? I guess they really wanted bubbly and talkative applicant cos my alter ego which takes place during any interviews apparently suited their criteria :p Loo Mun applied too but during that time she was abit cranky and tired (since she came back from KL right after work jz to have this interview) and thus she din managed to get a place.

That day after the interview, i sent loo mun to EP early in the morning to catch the Bus Wira. As we were reaching the bus stop, we were half shocked as the Blue & White bus flew pass in front of us. With half a brain awake, I recklessly accelerated to trail the bus. Loo Mun apparently was still shocked and doesn't really know my intention of doing that. When we arrived at the traffic junction, the red light was on and i zig zag through the long queue of cars, getting nearer and nearer to the bus. And there, right beside the bus, i knocked frantically on the glass pane of the bus's door. Time was running out as the Traffic light timer goes down to 1X seconds. Luckily the driver opened up the door and without ado, i shouted at loomun (she's half dazed) and ushered her to jump off the bike onto the bus. she threw back the helmet at me and at that time the count down is less than 3 seconds. Seeing her on the bus, i was relieved but then the game's not over yet. The green light turned on and at that critical moment, my bike's engine died. the bus started moving forwards and i'm sandwiched between a car and a bus. It was really terrifying as i kept restarting the bike while praying that the cars behind won't bang into me. Well, the sleepiness in me earlier was definitely gone at that time, replaced by icy fear. In the nick of time, the engine roared to life and off i go! Thank god that i din get injured at all. Loo Mun sms me later on and asked if i'm still alive because the bus turned to another road and she lost track of me as i was still stuck at the traffic junction. So moral of the story: never do any stunts when you are half awake :p

back to the homestay program. Well, it is one of the reason why i started working in Coffee Bean, and why i am still working now even if i have 5 subjects this trimester. Besides, During GACC, i'll be setting up a doujin booth to sell Heise's Artbook to earn some extra bucks. For those who are interested, I'll post about it later after i finish writing about the homestay.

So we will be going to stay in hekinan, a small town in aichi prefecture. Apparently we have to cook sth for a welcome party over there as well as doing some performances. well knowing how good my skills in cooking, the best is jz to do some drinks or dessert haha. besides i dun think we can get any necessary ingredient conveniently over there. knowing the ingredient name in japanese will be the biggest challenge haha. As for performances.. we'll come out with something soon i hope. i really don't want to bring my Er Hu over there and embarrass myself with my rusted skills :p

Although we have to do these stuff, what i'm interested in is to visit Toyota's manufacturing site :) really hope we will go to see the partner robot which can play a trumpet using its lips. we will be going to alot of places considerably interesting for engin students, and besides that, we will be going to visit a highschool too. this is the tricky part.. we have to do a study on our own country cos the students there will be asking us about our homeland *gulp* like wat's the population of your hometown etc. so before going to japan i have to brush up not only my japanese, but also general knowledge about Msia orz.

This time we won't be going to Tokyo most probably because it's really far from hekinan and time consuming for us to travel using the cheapest available trasportation, which is bus. so no Akihabara for us *sob* anyway comiket is in August so we won't be able to make it too. Instead, we will be going to osaka and kyoto. so not bad too la. i can take snapshots of beautiful sceneries and traditional building.

Anyway, i'll be bringing a laptop (yes i own one now muahahahha) to japan and then if luck's with me, i might be able to update my blog over there about the trip :p but for now, money money come! XD

Back from KL

It's been very eventful and hectic last weekend. As i said in last post, the robotics club were promoting their event named Robotics Challenge Week in mid valley, courtesy of Play!Ex's organizer who gave us a free booth slot there.

Well, i skipped alot of classes this sem, so i dun mind skipping more :p Lilo, Ziqi and I went to KL with Mohan, my classmate + the driver, on Thursday night. The whole Savvy was packed with robots, boxes, and alot more other stuffs and luggages that we can hardly fit in the car :p It was tiring because i have just left work at 5pm and i had to go borrow batteries and redo circuit for the electromaze and stuff until 7pm, when Mohan came to pick me up. I barely packed and later on i found out i forgot to bring my hp charger *dies*

When we reached Midvalley around 10.15pm, The area was jammed with cars going out of the shopping mall. This is the first time for us to go to a shopping mall after closing hour so it's kinda fun to see shops all closed and cleaners in work uniform all over the place. Oh not to mention all the cleaners are foreign labors too. seems like Malaysians are all too good for menial jobs :p

Anyway we went to 3rd floor, and the exhibition site is beside the Lilian Too Feng Shui shop. Some of the booths were being set up and decorated at that moment so it looked bleak and run down. Our booth was free of charge, so we got the furthest corner slot from the main entrance. Despite that, We felt lost and awkward and most of all embarrassed to be there at all when we compare our own random n incomplete polystyrene with color paper cut-outs wordings and A4 monotone print outs with their printed colourful posters, eye-catching banners, buntings and attractive flyers. We were the only student booth around so we felt tensed. After much swearing and complaining with good reason, we start planning how to decorate with whatever limited resources we had. In the end, due to insufficient color papers and other stationeries we gave up and went back to Mohan's house after midnight.

The next day things were getting a little better as we fill the empty space with our pitiful amount of exhibition items: 2 mobile robots, one of which can't function, and 2 other electronic project from our lecturers. Our booth was still pathetic, having Celcom's huge purple site right opposite our booth and blocking all the view. Not to mention the killer sound system from the DJ booth which was stationed near the Celcom site. Since the Savvy couldn't take in anymore stuff, our mini games were left for those who will come in the evening. So all in all, it was bleak and uneventful for our booth, and sadly it applies to the whole event too, since there's not much crowd to begin with. On the lighter side, i finally went to Kim Gary HK restaurant to eat. The soup noodle is very good and the side vege is delicious XD Though it's abit too expensive for a simple meal like that, i think it's worth a try (for Muslims, sorry guys cos it's non halal >.<)

The other committees finally came around 5pm with more stationeries and robots the mini games. The games were set up and then i started to fix the robots up and charge batteries. the exhibition site looked abit more crowded, which was a good sign. All the booth around us are selling Toys, Anime merchandise, promoting Online Games, magazines and the very prominent Celcom Xpax prepaid card. And again, we looked so out of place orz. I think we should have moved to the edu fair at the other exhibition site beside ours :p

That night i stayed in my aunt's house, who fetched me from Midvalley after the event was closed for the day. Found out that my 2nd auntie was around too, with her 2 kids as well. It was the first time i saw the 2 kids so i was quite amazed how they looked like their parents, as well as my other auntie's kid haha. My sister were with them too, and had suffered long enuf to call them akuma-tachi. hahah.. well they were loud and always hungry for attention and they cry alot. all these i got to know in mere 2 hours >.<

For the 2nd day it was more crowded and better still, i managed to promote my mini game electromaze (where you are to hold a loop and go through a metal wire frame without touching them together) to the crowd and many tried their hands on it as it looked ultra simple. It tests the stability of your hands and your concentration power so luckily only 2 person of the whole 3 days won the game and each walking away with a prize of 1GB Kingston pendrive *ouch! the sales of keychains at our booth was ok too, despite the fact that we lost 6 sets of them when we left the items overnight on the site. In conclusion, we earn only a little sponsor money and a lot more of fatigue during the event.

Near evening, both my sisters came over to meet me up. My youngest sister, Li Li went to Comic Fiesta in Timesquare and hauled a lot of bookmarks and small badges for herself while she got me Kidchan's artbook 0.o with her signature on. It was damn expensive but hey, there's a signature on so nvm la hahaha *shoot self* after browsing her harvest, I went off early with them and our Auntie came to fetch us for a sort of reunion dinner in a Steamboat Restaurant. My 2nd auntie from singapore was there too, with her 2 cute akumas around. Anyhow, the steamboat with hot porridge is very nice indeed after adding in all the ingredients plus a raw egg xD

Sunday was my off duty day so I was able to go shopping with Loo Mun and the others doing training in KL. After light breakfast at my aunt's house, me and my younger sister went to Mid Valley to set up stuff, and then we went our different ways at the Monorail station as she will go on for the 2nd day of CF while i will go to Lot10 to meet LooMun up. It was around 12pm when Loo Mun, William, HR and CYC turned up so we walked to Pavilion together after that. It was huge and the White Christmas deco inside was really nice. We went to eat at a jap restaurant at the Lower Ground, where J.Co and the Cream Puff are located too. Then we went shopping as there were alot of mega sales and year end sales going on. Surprisingly and not without Loomun's influence, I got myself a slack from Element and a white shirt from MnG. they looked nice on me and so byebye to my pitiful amount of cash and hello to ATM machine :p

After that, we went off to Coffee Bean and i treated everyone with the RM10 vouchers i got from my aunt. And i finally get a chance to properly drink those ice-blends and food that i make and serve almost everyday hahaha. Then we move on to Timesquare as Loomun wanted to try on evening gowns. Too bad she can't get the ideal dress after alot of try out. At around 6pm, since it's free entrance by then, we went up to the 6th floor in timesquare for a glance of CF. the site looks abit run down but once we get inside, Fuh! it's packed with cosplayers and doujin booths. not bad la i can say haha. And i din know that Ce yi was involved in CF too! I saw alot of familiar faces and doujin booths. There are so many figurines on display. And there was a person cosplaying PACMAN. how cool is that XD Should really ask for photos from those who's been there for 2 days *stare at sis* I din buy anything though i wanted to, and too bad the moyashimons badges are no where to be seen T.T

Before we went back, Loo Mun and I had a haircut for RM13 at the speedcut shop in the pedestrian bridge across timesquare. Before it was our turn, there's an indian almost bald customer who had been in there for ages. We were waiting and cursing as he kept on requesting the hair stylist to cut a little here and there off his already hair-less head. When he was finally done, which was around half and hour later (hey old man it's suppose to be speedy cut! which part of speedy do you not understand?!) the stylist told us that the Indian baldy was picky cos his hair curled up after the cut and requested to cut it off. He even mention how the Pakistanis barber would do an easy job on that. man why can't he jz go for a barber then?! Never mind i hope his hair won't grow long any sooner *evil*. When it was our turn, we had some fun while talking to the metro sexual hair stylist and Loo Mun and her stylist were unable to stop laughing at our conversation :p haha.

and that's about it for the trip now. I'm now broke and did not get any oryzae fanart/badges.. *cries
