Winter Solstice 2009 (Astrology Reading)

The Sun has moved into Capricorn, and we celebrate the Winter Solstice north of the equator, the time when the solar light returns. Since the dawn of human consciousness, the Winter Solstice is the most spiritual and contemplative time of the year. Regardless of the conditions in the collective world, this is always a time of deep renewal for each one of us. This year's Solstice chart describes a collective dark night of the soul. We need to clarify our personal perspectives to make our minds into perfect instruments for cutting new paths in the world during 2010.

We have all chosen to be here now. By choosing to live during such trying times, we can attain high levels of personal integrity. So far, the nine-dimensional model is the best tool I've discovered for achieving subtle states of consciousness. For example, if you want to avoid feeling totally stuck this winter amidst the wild slings of fate inspired by Mars retrograde in Leo, you can adopt an 8D viewpoint-true ethics and moral purity-regardless of what's going on "out there." By adopting this 8D stance, you will easily embody your 6D ideal self, and you can navigate 3D perfectly. Of course, 4D will vacillate back and forth between the dark and the light, the yin and the yang, while you will hold your power in 3D. I quote Cicero from The Laws to emphasize how this process works:

"Power and law are not synonymous. In truth, they are frequently in opposition and irreconcilable. There is god's Law from which all equitable laws of man emerge and by which men must live if they are not to die in oppression, chaos, and despair. Divorced from God's eternal and immutable Law, established before the founding of the suns, man's power is evil no matter the noble words with which it is employed or the motives urged when enforcing it. . . Men of good will, mindful therefore of the Law laid down by God, will oppose governments whole rule is by men, and, if they wish to survive as a nation, they will destroy that government which attempts to adjudicate by the whim or power of venal judges."

Translate: The Law is 8D and the power complexes are 4D, and these days the bankers can be substituted for the Roman governments of Cicero's time. Michael Moore deftly established in his film, Capitalism: A Love Story, that the bankers have carried out a coup d'etat in the US. Because 4D has almost totally subsumed 3D, your 8D value senses are being shredded right now, and the experience is very troubling. My reading for the Winter Solstice will analyze this dilemma and offer new ways to live in this distorted field; life was terrible during the Roman Empire and it is terrible now. The Solstice chart shows that this repeat of the world empire pattern will be tested this winter, even possibly undermined. As most of you know, we are now well into Night Six of the Galactic Underworld [see The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind], and the astrology for this Solstice is a clear and marvelous reflection of our world before the dawn.

The chart for the Winter Solstice sets up a field in the global collective that will be very influential all winter, especially since Mars goes retrograde a day before the Solstice and then goes direct close to the Spring Equinox. As usual, America has decided to play empire and try to rule the world, so I will give this country more attention than it deserves. Actually this is not to be avoided, since the first thing that stands out in the Solstice chart is the Moon in 27 Aquarius-which is conjunct the Moon in the 1776 USA Founding Chart in 27 Aquarius! And, the Moon is close to the Triple Conjunction-Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron-in Aquarius. Also, Barack Obama's lunar South Node is 27 Aquarius. These three combust placements in 27 Aquarius mean that this Winter Solstice period as a reckoning time for American values with Obama playing out a past-life role in the foundation of these values. As we look at national issues, we require a clear perspective on what this chart means to each one of us. It helps to think of 4D as the reading of the collective, and of 8D as a personal, ethical challenge. In that sense, the times ask us to seek the best in ourselves, and this winter will be a time when we will be forced to face some challenging truths.

Looking at the stellium in Aquarius, we are now in the last hot zone, the alchemical cauldron of Jupiter's expansion of Neptune's spiritual breakthroughs inspired by Chiron's healing of deep wounds. This process was intense from May through July of this year, and now it has returned for the last time. Jupiter exactly conjuncted Chiron on December 7, and Jupiter is conjunct Neptune right during this Solstice. What could be more mystical than Jupiter conjunct Neptune during the Winter Solstice, especially in Aquarius? Jupiter's conjunction to Neptune expands the personal healing that you experienced right around December 7 (when Jupiter was conjunct Chiron) into very high mystical access. This potential is why it is especially worth it to take the high road-8D-instead of being a reptile in the crowded 4D pit this winter. It is possible to be very content and blessed during the return of the light, but not if you are an old saurian playing survival-of-the-fittest. The healing and mystical fields activated by the Triple Conjunction are very emotional this winter because the Moon in 27 Aquarius has just moved over Chiron, Neptune, and Jupiter just before the return of the light. This winter, few of us will avoid being deeply changed by this last Triple Conjunction activation because it is coming through our feelings.

The Moon's conjunction to each planet in the Triple Conjunction just before the Winter Solstice triggers new information about our deepest wounds as our boundaries to the mystical realms melt away, while Jupiter expands us into the highest 8D states of mind. Jupiter rules the Law, the natural Law that Cicero speaks of, and accessing this 8D state of mind is the only way to be happy and joyful on this planet. This Solstice is a remarkable challenge to each one of us, and we are being asked to take our stand: What kind of partner, parent, lover, colleague, child, ecologist, artist, and cook are you? What were your intentions during the 2009 Spring Equinox and how are you doing with them? How do they fit into the collective, the greater field?

Viewing this stunning quadruple conjunction from the collective perspective, what pops right out is its opposition from Mars newly retrograde in 20 Leo. Mars went retrograde the day before the Sun went into Capricorn, a turn in the sky that is ominous for world events. When the world economies and political structures are moving forward in relatively positive ways, Mars retrograde can be an excellent time for reflection, the pause that refreshes. But, these days, world economies are struggling to avoid disaster, and the whole world is locked into an East/West struggle that is causing constant warfare and deep depression. Mars, which often increases male aggressive tendencies, went into in Leo in mid-October, just when the US was digging a deeper and deeper hole for itself in Afghanistan. The US will dig in even deeper as Mars retrogrades until March 10. With Mars in Leo for around seven months, the blind are forced to lead the blind with little thought about the consequences in the long run. With Mars opposite the Moon in Aquarius (as the Moon conjuncts the 1776 USA Moon, Obama's South Node, and the Triple Conjunction), the collective mind will be obsessed with war. This obsession could ultimately result in dire financial collapse caused by constant warfare. Sometimes we have to lose everything before we learn anything.

As the Sun goes into Capricorn and conjuncts Pluto three days later, this aspect sheds light on the real truths that haunt our minds; we are fed by the Underworld where we can find ultimate renewal. In the middle of this massive collective insanity, what are you dedicated to? What is the real meaning of your life? You must ask this now, or nothing is going to make much sense. After all, the Sun/Pluto conjunction closely squares Saturn in early Libra, the judge who demands you take your stance. We are now in the early stages of the 2010 cardinal transits-Uranus and Jupiter in Libra/Pluto in Capricorn/ and Saturn in Libra-that will force us to go beyond processes that we've been stuck in for a long time. For example, long protracted wars that are going nowhere will not work in 2010, and the rats that garroted the economy will be running out of the ship. 2010 will be a year of reckoning about resources and war, and Saturn-square-Pluto conjunct the Solstice Sun says the real truth will come out this winter. The skunks have released their scents, there is no time for them to refill their sacs, and so the black side of reality will be visible. Remember, you are in your integrity in your personal reality regardless of what is exposed-unless you are one of the boys at "Gold Man Sacks" or one of the other Wall Street firms.

Venus in 25 Sagittarius sextiles the Moon/Triple Conjunction in Aquarius, which suggests feminine wisdom is expanding our mystical access. I felt like calling this reading "Warrior Contemplations" when I noticed the Mars opposition to the stellium in Aquarius. Well, Mars also widely trines Venus in Sagittarius, the freedom key in this chart, so, I did some thinking about warriors. I am very anti-military when any military becomes a multi-generational system of mercenaries; the citizens are forced to pay for them while the politicians use these pawns to increase their own power. But, the warrior who truly protects and defends at the highest level is an agent of the Law, the natural law.

Perhaps this Venus placement means there will be deep thought about when war is justified? This possibility is reinforced because Venus widely trines Mars in Leo. Venus closely squares Uranus in Pisces that went direct December 1. Uranus in Pisces since 2004 has been causing deep and moving spiritual transformations in all of us. We have learned to consider the true basis of reality in new ways, and Carl Calleman leads the search for a more meaningful understanding of the universe and Earth's role in it. Just as Uranus went direct in Pisces and headed for its passage into Aries in May 2010, Carl gave us The Purposeful Universe, possibly the most brilliant book of all time. Carl makes it possible for us to see the spiritual basis of our lives, and to know that we matter.

Mercury in 20 Capricorn is closely conjunct the lunar North Node, which adds depth and seriousness to this winter. Many more of us will see how our personal gifts are part of the common good. When the North Node is in Capricorn, we search for practical and ethical ways to do things in life, and we let go of too much security for the greater good. Mercury on the North Node is exactly quincunx Mars, newly retrograde in Leo. This helps us to see that every action we take has far-reaching consequences; we think about our impact on others. Because Mars is in Leo and retrograde, we have strong wills and fortitude this winter. Many people will show their true colors, and this will be inspiring in some cases.

Mars is really going to be a complex factor this winter. While the god of war is retrograde, we will tend to think instead of act. Mars opposes the Moon/Triple Conjunction, quincunxes Mercury conjunct the North Node in Capricorn, and Mars trines Venus. These aspects to Mars are so subtle, complex, and intense that almost all action could be tied in knots until March 10, when Mars goes direct. All the planets (except Sun/Pluto square Saturn) are resonating with each other because they are located in the last 20-30 degrees of their signs. This will cause the winter to feel like a pin ball game in which everything is bouncing off everything else-yet Mars retrograde stops the action. When things are locked up, life can feel very frustrating, so this is a winter to start with philosophy and meaning and not to expect much action. In light of the influence of Night Six, this winter may see a series of falling dominoes-stocks, commodities, value of money, wars, and blocked legislation. It will be hard to create new things that will last.

Yet, Saturn in Libra squares Sun/Pluto, which makes us feel like the hammer is about to come down. Having things stop and get stuck is often what happens when a lot of things have been created too fast and irresponsibly-as they have since 1999 when the Galactic Underworld opened. The world is stuck in a series of quagmires, life feels stagnated, and an oppressive reckoning is building. Is there any way out of this mess? Can we see any light as the light returns?

The central thread in this exceedingly complex Solstice chart is visible if we focus on the lunar South Node in 21 Cancer. Suddenly what pops out is that the Moon conjunct the Triple Conjunction sextile Sun/Pluto/Venus forms a strong yod to the lunar South Node in Cancer. Yods are best understood by imaging them as a dousing rod: The planets in the sextile are the rods we hold in our hands, and the placements opposite the sextile represent the power point of the rod seeking water, seeking nurturance. Yods always accomplish meaningful results, even though their actions are very internal and hard to observe. Yods represent inner changes in each person that shift reality on the surface. The yod from the Moon/Triple Conjunction sextile Venus/Sun/Pluto to the South Node in Cancer means the deepest healing and mystical access this winter is drawing power from nurturing experiences in the past-times when we got through hard times and found community again in spite of stupid politicians and power mongers. This yod exists because so many planets and the lunar nodes are in the last degrees of their signs (the pin ball affect), and amazingly, there is a second yod!

Uranus in 23 Pisces sextiles the lunar North Node conjunct Mercury in Capricorn, and this sextile shoots a yod to Mars retrograde in 20 Leo. This means that the current spiritual transformations that are pushing us to new evolutionary paths (Uranus) are in a powerful alliance with evolutionary agenda of becoming a new species (Pluto/Sun/Venus), and they are drawing power from transcending our identity as warriors (Mars). This is a really big deal because the wars we are struggling with are creations of the National and Planetary Underworlds during the last 5,125 years. Massive warfare did not exist before that, and during the 100,000-year-long Regional Underworld, we worked in community in different ways. The Regional Underworld imprint is longer and deeper than the National and Planetary Underworlds. During the Galactic Underworld since 1999, our consciousness has been evolving out of solving problems by using warfare, and a new global unity through communications is evolving within our species. This yod to Mars means we will experience great inner growth that will eventually make our species more peaceful-a movement will take over the collective field during 2011.

To summarize, this winter will be a time of the deepest and most formative transformation of our species. Many old ideas, communities, and individuals will not be visible when the spring arrives. This winter is a time of pruning, of removing old growth so that new shoots can come forth. I would advise you to work on these two yods by holding the planets in the sextiles in your left and right hands while you access the power of the dowsing rod-the lunar South Node in Cancer for accessing past nurturance, and Mars in Leo for finding ways to use power with positive actions.

New Moon in Sagittarius on December 16th

It is the New Moon in Sagittarius, the time to consider our core beliefs in light of what is going on in the world. We are also living during the early days of Night Six of the Galactic Underworld, the darkness before the dawn. This year's Sagittarian lunar theme challenges us to review the great steps we've each taken during Day Six, which just completed on November 6. Have you identified your new evolutionary steps forward, as I encouraged you to do during the New Moon in Libra? If you have, now is the time to look deeply into how this fits or doesn't fit into your 3D reality. Are you way ahead of the times? I know I am, because whenever I see photographs of the battles in Afghanistan and Iraq, I feel like I am seeing reruns of the titanic dinosaur wars that already took place during Night Six of the Mammalian Underworld. Night Six ended with the dinosaur extinctions, which created space for the empathic mammals of Day Seven. [See Clow, The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind.] War is coming to a crazy, bloody climax now so as to create space for humans who are peaceful. The chaos field of reality is wildly shifting as 6D and 8D themes are moving into 3D now. Your consciousness is your life raft, it always was, so what do you believe? Let's be clear here, what is going on with wars in the world is absolutely dysfunctional and insane, and anybody participating in it on any level is heading down an evolutionary path that ends in extinction.

This year's New Moon in Sagittarius is closely conjunct the Milky Way Galactic Center at 27 Sagittarius. The Moon exactly conjuncts the Galactic Center four hours after the New Moon, which is followed by the Sun on December 18. The galactic aspects of this New Moon start during the New Moon and intensify over two days, which is great preparation for the high energy that will move in with the Winter Solstice. This year's Solstice is going to be very mystical. I felt strong early vibrations of the Winter Solstice when Uranus went direct on December 1, right before the Gemini Full Moon. The period from this New Moon to the Winter Solstice is very mystical and healing, because Jupiter conjuncts Chiron for the last time on December 7 and Jupiter conjuncts Neptune for the last time right before the Solstice. Uranus going direct and Jupiter's last conjunctions to Chiron and Neptune are pulling in massive doses of higher consciousness forces from 6D and 8D down into 4D and 3D.

Reality is very polarized between dark and light in the collective mind, as individuals struggle to clarify their ideals and beliefs in spite of what goes on in the political arenas. For example, everything is just weird out there with President Obama increasing America's commitment to more and more war in the Middle East just before he waltzes off to pick up his Nobel Peace Prize! Maybe something else is actually going on, since Norway was treated to a spinning spiral in the sky twenty-four hours before the awarding of the Peace Prize-and exactly when the Peace Prize was awarded, Mars in Leo was trine the Sun in Sagittarius. Meanwhile, Iraqi insurgents bombed the central governmental offices (paid for by the US), just as American troops and supplies are moving on out as fast a possible. On the spiritual planes, lines are being drawn from the time of this New Moon through the Solstice. Nobody is going to be able to cross these lines when the consequences of each person's actions comes to the surface during the cardinal transits of 2010-Uranus in Aries, Saturn in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn. The aspects to the Galactic Center during this New Moon beg us to see the greater implications of our lives or be lost in confusion next year when the chickens (or lizards) come home to roost.

The New Moon and Venus, both in Sagittarius, closely sextile the Triple Conjunction-Chiron/Jupiter/Neptune in Aquarius-just when this potent conjunction rejoins as closely as it did during the summer. Going back to May-July 2009, Jupiter and Chiron caused us to access deep and ancient wounds, while Jupiter and Neptune so greatly expanded our spiritual boundaries that many of us felt insane. Now during this lunation, the Triple Conjunction challenges us to see our resonance with higher orders, higher dimensions. We can't get off the hook because we know the truth. If we are lazy and dishonest about Earth now, things will be created in our 3D world that will not be pleasant. If we have respect for our own progress, great events in 3D will give us even more information. Mars in Leo widely trines the New Moon and Venus, which will make it easier to assess our own failings and limitations.

This December will be a time when 4D is polarized to insane and meaningful levels, as if the Titans are entering 3D to grasp our wings. From December 1 to 19, there are no retrograde planets, and then Mars goes retrograde on December 20. But the Titans live in 4D and manipulate us to play their games in 3D. People are obsessed with the Tiger Wood's scandal because they sense it is a perfect example of greater laws. Tiger thought he was a titan, and he just found out he is just a man. Tiger says he doesn't like the tabloids, but their function is to expose those who act like titans in 3D! Looks like the holy prostitute is on the loose again, especially since Venus widely conjuncts the New Moon! The Pleiadians have been giggling a lot lately-Nine Underworlds, Nine Dimensions, Nine Holes, and Tiger's Nine Women!

Seeing that the agenda of this New Moon is feminine healing and spiritual access, who now plays the role of the goddess? Uranus, of course, who closely squares the New Moon and Venus in Sagittarius. And when the male order gets so tight that change stops, the goddess transforms into Kali. If the boys won't change and do "bombs away" and watch football all day, then Kali works with Earth, with larger collective movements.

These greater levels can also be seen in the placements of Saturn and Mars: Saturn is stuck in a close square to Pluto, and stationary Mars in Leo trines Venus in Sagittarius and the New Moon and opposes the Triple conjunction. Mars will retrograde in Leo just before the Winter Solstice, which means he will be in egotistical and showy Leo for more than seven months. Because Mars is stationary in the sky, he exudes red anger during his opposition to the Triple Conjunction; Mars taunts us to demand the right to our human need for healing and spiritual access. Why? Mars knows that 3D and 4D are now being deeply penetrated by higher dimensions, so he lustily cries out for his final battles. He screams in the sky for the scalps of those who are stuck in evolutionary lines that are now terminating. Notice that the dinosaurs, once extinguished, never came back. Mars trining the New Moon as she conjuncts Venus reminds Mars that the solution lies with the goddess. Then enters Uranus, the planet of transformation, using his male energies to assist the feminine.

Uranus went direct December 1, and now he is picking up speed for his last transit of Pisces before moving into Aries in July. Uranus will still retrograde back into Pisces once more during 2010, so this transit through Pisces (until May 2010) highlights critical spiritual needs that need more change and transformation. Uranus squares the New Moon and Venus and quincunxes stationary Mars, a potent package. In other words, as Mars goes retrograde, Uranus moves direct while they are in quincunx. Translated, this means that martial themes are going to be stanched by spiritual progress. Higher aspirations are going to be drawn out of warriors while the mindless killing draws disfavor and ends in exhaustion, the way wars always end.

We look to Mercury to see how these subtle vibes might be played out, and Mercury in Capricorn's only major aspect is its quincunx to Mars. Mercury in Capricorn wants to get on with life, it wants to get the work done, and so this quincunx suggests the public will zero in on the financial and psychological toll of war, especially once they see how much medicine-for-profit is going to cost them. Actually, this aspect may signal frustration coming right from within the military over being used as mercenary mules while US society falls into disarray.

Saturn and Pluto are still in a close square, and Saturn retrogrades on January 13 and pulls back into an exact square to Pluto on January 31. This tight vise grip between the father and the underworld gods suggests revolution is the only way out. During this lunation and the Solstice, and continuing deep into the winter, the struggle over who-controls-3D will be more and more visible. It is no accident that wild shootings-such as the Fort Hood murders and the multiple assassinations of police officers-began right when Night Six opened. It is a sad commentary that guns (as well as 3 irons) seem to be the only form of expression that many Americans can find. This will just escalate until the powers that control 3D change their direction in the world and at home. This long tight square between Saturn and Pluto will expose angry forces that seem to have no outlet-such as the various factions in Iraq destroying the country's infrastructure. Venus exactly squares Uranus on December 19, so perhaps feminine forces will break up these locks. As I noted, this is often when the holy prostitute goes to work, and she's added the golf course to her territory.

The period between the Sagittarius New Moon and the Winter Solstice is the time to go into deep contemplation, a time to examine your ideals and how they are being expressed in the world. Often, you can't change the world out there very much, but you sure can change your self and clean up what's in your own mind. Your thoughts about this current re-run of the Roman Empire have an influence on events that is much greater than you can imagine. This is a time for "counting coup", for watching who-is-doing-what-out-there and coming to some firm conclusions. The disapproval in your eyes and the hope in your hearts are stronger than the whims of titans who seek power. The mystical forces in the cosmos that come to Earth during the Solstice are greater than the whim of idiots, mongrels, and fools. Float on your life raft, the creation of this lifetime, with confidence. The higher fields are moving in and transmuting reality, and soon during Day Seven, which opens in late October 2010, these changes will be visible. Scorpio New Moon on November 16th

The 2009 Scorpio New Moon chart is exceedingly complex and personally demanding, a genuine get-real-and-be-truthful moment. First of all, the chart emphasizes healing our emotions because Jupiter (personal expansion), Chiron (healing), and Neptune (spiritual access) are now all direct in Aquarius, and the New Moon squares them. This blocks Scorpio's natural tendency to be secretive, so we may experience revelations. Evocatively, Uranus in Pisces trines the lunation, so we look for spiritual solutions for our selves and the world. Night Six of the Galactic Underworld (1999-2011) just opened on November 8, which heralds the darkness before the New Dawn. Thus, this New Moon opens the dark night of the soul. With Obama leading the US during last days of the Galactic Underworld, isn't it fascinating that Mars (war and aggression) in the New Moon chart is exactly conjunct his Sun sign (personal integrity)? How are you doing with your Nobel Peace prize, President Obama?

This New Moon reading suggests we are arrows in arched bows primed to enter cosmic space. So, we must begin with a brief recap of Day Six of the Galactic Underworld, which ended November 7. Then we need to look at the probable effects of the movement into Night Six on November 8, since the chart for the New Moon in Scorpio actually does not make much sense without putting it into the context of the Mayan Calendar. Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, the lord before the Dawn is the deity of Night Six, the archetypal force of comic renewal. Yohualticitl, the goddess of birth, was the ruler of Day Six, so now we are living in a world in which the old ways are falling rapidly away. The powers-that-be will do everything possible to make it look like everything is all the same, but things are not. Millions of people following the time-acceleration process have already greatly changed. So, what did you birth during Day Six-November 15, 2009-November 8, 2009?

During this period, each one of you has made monumental shifts, and you feel that you will never drop back to the previous level. So, what breakthrough did you accomplish? You must identify this year's personal leap because it will be your guide during Night Six. This leap will be your lifeboat, and I don't care how silly your move forward may seem to be. For example, one student said his big step was to learn how to putt well in golf! That may sound like nothing, but consider this: golf is the ultimate multidimensional game, and the reason most people can't sink the ball in the hole is because success brings up childhood psychological blocks. As for me, I discovered how to relax, a truly amazing feat for me! As for you, maybe like the lion in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, perhaps you won out over the forces of evil?

During the Day Sixes of the previous Underworlds, we made critical evolutionary leaps-such as hominids standing up and splitting off from chimpanzees and apes 6-9 million years ago during the Familial Underworld (41 million years ago through AD 2011); or mammals developing a bi-lateral brain 190 million years ago when Pangea broke up into continents during the Mammalian Underworld (820 million years ago through AD 2011). [See my video, Exponential Evolution, for more info on Day Sixes over time.] So, now that we've just completed Day Six of the Galactic, what was your personal critical leap? During Night Six, chaos will reign in the fractal realms, and you will need to hold onto whatever special progress you made. Then you'll be ready to make the great alchemical breakthrough during Day Seven of the Galactic Underworld-November 3, 2010-October 28, 2011). For example, on the first drive, the golfer might make a hole-in-one, and I might open nine dimensions effortlessly just by meditating.

Why do I begin with Chaos Theory? We each need to identify our Day Six attainments and intentionally hold them within the planetary field. During Night Six, this field will be in a state of perpetual flux as it rises to create new space for Day Seven's creative agenda, which is the fruition of the Galactic Underworld. For example, with no focus on your own progress, you could crumble into simpering fear-mongering and screaming idiocy when you go see the apocalyptical film, 2012. Are you afraid that Planet X, the Dark Star, or Nibiru is going to smash into Earth, or that the poles will flip? There is no doubt that the big boys are playing a very nasty game, but you can hold your place just by not collapsing into fear! The chart for the New Moon in Scorpio shows you how, so I will read it for guidance on how we can hold to our true path during Night Six.

Before I read this chart, I have a few comments about events during previous Night Sixes, since this offers some past experiences that may reemerge now through November 2, 2010. We need to go way back to Day Six of the Regional Underworld (103,000 years ago to 2011); this time period was 21,700 to 13,800 years ago, and this was when our ancestors lived in the Global Maritime Civilization, the global sea-faring culture known as Atlantis in the collective memory. Then, when Night Six opened 13,800 years ago, major climate and earth changes destroyed Atlantis. [See Catastrophobia (2001).] The worst phase of the multiple cataclysms was 11,500 years ago, when Earth was nearly destroyed, and films like 2012 will revive these memories in people. During Night Six (AD 1225-1617) of the 5,125-year-long National Underworld, the Mongols swept into Europe after the Crusades failed, and Western Europe was very insecure while the East was rising in power. In other words, the Night Sixes of the Regional and National Underworlds were physically cataclysmic, so the Western psyche will fear invasions and earth changes this year. By realizing that these are past memories, people can release the emotional aspects of these physical cataclysms during Night Six of the Galactic Underworld (November 8, 2009 through November 2, 2010). The probable resonance with past disasters is a big deal for two reasons: one, apocalyptical fundamentalists are going to try to scare you to death with things like 2012; and two, there will be a tendency for civilizations to self-destruct during this next year. Before getting all freaked out, let's remember that the Galactic Underworld agenda is to break down the National and Planetary Underworld structures while we recover lost memories from the Regional Underworld. This process will open space so that we can leap into enlightenment during the Universal Underworld in 2011!

So, what am I really saying? I am saying that like the survivors of Atlantis hanging onto floating debris and washing on shore after the cataclysm, you must utilize your Day Six fruition fragment as your lifeboat. Yes, Night Six will feel like the fall of Atlantis for many, so just let it fall by releasing your emotions and your fear! We must surrender to this release so that the intuitive Regional brain can be accessed again.

Now looking at our New Moon chart, the aspects to the Sun/Moon in 25 Scorpio are compelling. Regarding Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune together in Aquarius, they were in 25-26 Aquarius during May through July 2009, and I'm sure you remember that period. We found ourselves plunging into deep inner wounds (Chiron), while our outer boundaries to the spiritual realms were melting our identities (Neptune), and we kept on expanding our minds and feelings (Jupiter). Many people fragmented this summer as if they were having a schizophrenic breakdown, yet actually they were merely shivering on the dangerous edge of enlightenment. This same pressure to grow will come on strong again during this December, when our spiritual growth will intensify even more to prepare us for the exact conjunctions of Chiron and Neptune during 2010. This New Moon in Scorpio, which pushes us into the darkest and most fecund parts of our consciousness, squares the three planets, so it is a clarion call for the personal attainment of enlightenment.

Our species is evolving to receive Earth's cosmic consciousness, so during this critical lunation the cosmic jester, Uranus, is poised to dance on the game board. Uranus in Pisces trines the New Moon, easily probing Scorpio's dark caves. Isn't it amazing that Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol is in the reading public's mind right now, just as the apocalyptical film, 2012, arrives to scare the pants off the people on the first Friday the 13th of Night Six? [In The Mayan Code, I commented that the easiest way to imagine how the Global Elite pulled off 9/11 is to read Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. Now that I've read The Lost Symbol, I'd say he hints that the Global Elite knows all about the Mayan Calendar. Well, any possibility that the 2012 gang would sweep Calleman's discovery under the rug just ended with the publication of Calleman's latest book, The Purposeful Universe: How Quantum Theory and Mayan Cosmology Explain the Origin and Evolution of Life. It is brilliant, a quantum leap beyond his previous works, and you must read it right away.]

As for me, I didn't learn anything new about how the Global Elite uses old bones, lost symbols, and musty feathers to control the world. But I bet the general public will be surprised to see what their tax dollars pay for in Washington, DC. Good for you, Dan Brown! I continue to honor you as the great revealer of secrets for the masses during the Galactic Underworld. Many people will easily see that Hollywood's timing for the release of 2012 shows that these glittery lizards also play games with old bones and symbols. Dan Brown missed only one thing in The Lost Symbol: The symbol on the dollar is the 13-storied pyramid of the Planetary Underworld (AD 1755-2011) with the Eye of God at the top and the lowest step dated 1776. The Big Boys have always attempted to divert the public from the real Mayan Calendar end-date-October 28, 2011. Now they're going all out for it in 2012, the Enlightenment Bypass.

Uranus in Pisces trining the New Moon at the opening of this film suggests that the entertainment moguls have gone too far this time. Then, notice that Uranus in Pisces is in a Grand Trine-New Moon trine the lunar South Node in 23 Cancer trine Uranus. The South Node always reveals the past influences that are impacting the current moment, so we can be sure that Hollywood is serving up old, moldy archetypes. Well, the main developments in esoterica were during the Planetary Underworld, when the Elite utilized the old symbols of the 5,125-year National Underworld to control the world. The global elite uses arcane rituals, astrology, sexual deviance, and violence to control you, while they debunk all these techniques in the media. They keep these tools that successfully probe the synchronicity plane all to themselves. Ironically, you don't need skulls and bones or magic, just consult time acceleration in Calleman's model! This month will be a great time to access nature's great clarity and open your hearts. Have a good laugh at the big boys on the game board being swept away in their own self-created apocalypse. For example, how are they going to explain the Ft. Hood military massacre to the people in the armed services?

Saturn in Libra exactly squares Pluto in Capricorn, so now the time has come to use your consciousness to move beyond the box in 3D. Recapping the current Saturn/Pluto cycle, which began in 1982/83 when Saturn conjoined Pluto in late Libra, the world economy was just emerging from a strong recession. A time of limitation and struggle was finishing, and a prosperous period began that lasted nineteen to twenty years. Saturn in late Aquarius came to the first squares to Pluto in late Scorpio in 1993-4, when the great Uranus/Neptune conjunctions occurred that began a new spiritual awakening cycle. Growth became more spiritual, and many people really felt the world was changing for the better. However, with the opposition of Saturn in Gemini to Pluto in Sagittarius in 2001/02, the force for growth broke with 9/11 and optimism came to a halt. During these oppositions, gloomy and fearful pessimism gripped the American public, so the Bushites duped America into a battle between East and West.

Regardless of who actually pulled off 9/11, the neo-cons used it to create a systemic fear program to control the public will. They even invented a new cabinet based solely on fear, the neo-Nazi "Homeland Security". This fear-based time lock will not lift until the perpetrators are exposed, so America has been drowning in a weird backwater during the Galactic Underworld, while the world moves right along. Well, not much longer. The exact Saturn-square-Pluto in early Libra/Capricorn on the day before this New Moon will trigger the exposure of the economic basis of this whole cycle: the US is being bankrupted by the war economy that was invented in 1982/83 in order to dominate the East so as to control the world. This ancient struggle between East and West has been totally revivified, and this weird turn of events does not make sense without considering Calleman's analysis of history. During the 5,125-year National Underworld, nations have been pulled into struggles between East and West that are generated by the midline-12 degrees east longitude, the power line of the World Tree. [See The Mayan Calendar: Transformation of Consciousness by Calleman.] Well, the real truth about the battle between East and West will be revealed during the first Saturn-upper-square-Pluto in Libra/Capricorn, and during the second and third ones in January and August 2010.

The East/West struggle, mostly perpetrated by the West (as can be seen by who is invading whose territory) has been the wasting force of the National Underworld for 5,125 years. Since the upper and final Saturn/Pluto squares all occur during Night Six of the Galactic Underworld, we can be sure that this great struggle will involve great death, mayhem, and plagues. Night Six of the National Underworld (AD 1225-1617) began with the end of the Crusades and the Mongol invasions and was characterized by the Inquisition and many wars and plagues. The Western powers adopted constant warfare as a defense, yet it is no defense. This can be seen by what happened at Ft. Hood as the Saturn-square-Pluto was building. In the New Moon chart, Mercury in wise early Sagittarius exactly sextiles Saturn in Libra, which means much new clarity and intelligence is coming in to loosen these locked-up old struggles.

Mars and Venus in a tight square are very interesting during this lunation. Mars in Leo takes risks and wants attention for winning, while Venus in Scorpio favors deep feminine immersion. Venus in Scorpio has a strong will when faced with the pride of Mars in Leo, so this suggests personal battles between male and female partners and a tendency for aggression on the world stage. But, Venus in Scorpio means the truth will come out, that history will record who really wins and loses this time. Remember, the forces of the East tend to dominate the West during the Nights of the Underworlds, so Venus in Scorpio squaring Mars in Leo may mean the West backs down dramatically during this lunation. Yet, Mars in Leo is in a wide opposition to Jupiter in Aquarius, which hints at excess and grandiosity on the world's stage. The most obvious reading of these aspects would be that soon the West will have to accept reality as it is, which it has avoided for a long time. Saturn upper square Pluto announces an economic reckoning, so the financial collapse of the West is probably what will end the wars. Perhaps the New Moon's Mars in Leo conjuncting Obama's birth Sun is a sign of how things will play out?

The Fall Equinox has arrived. For about a day, the planetary species fall into harmony amidst resonant airwaves flowing from the Equator to the Poles. Earth's tilt is balanced with the Sun, as the Sun moves into 0 degrees Libra and seems to hover over the Equator. Tune in carefully! This is the ideal moment to consider your current path in light of the larger field, the collective mind. If only you could see how your thoughts create your world, you would cleanse your mind and clarify your feelings with positive thoughts based on responsible intentions.

Let's recall your spring 2009 intentions. If they have deepened and matured during the summer, now the moment has arrived to balance them with everything else in your life. So, how are you doing with this year's creations? Is there one or another that does not seem to be happening? If so, should you drop it or find a new way to look at how it could come into your life? What could you do to balance things in your life so that creating this intention can happen? For most people, the early fall is an industrious time, as jobs begin and children go back to school. Perhaps your intentions have been happening in subtle ways, and now they are ready to become more dominant in your life? What matters is to activate new habits or patterns this fall sometime before the Winter Solstice. The chart for this Fall Equinox is very active, so during the fall, many latent ideas may suddenly just pop into form.

Newly direct Pluto in Capricorn exactly squares the Sun in 0 Libra, a resounding announcement that the deep structural change processes are in gear again. Pluto turned direct on 9-11-09, a thought-provoking series of numbers since 9-11-01 symbolizes the first dimension, and 9-11-09 the ninth. On 9-11-09, the US Coast Guard staged a practice response to a feigned attack on the Potomac right near where Obama was speaking at Arlington National Cemetery. This stunt was broadcast by CNN as a potential terrorist attack, just to make sure Americans endured their daily dose of fear! Uranus in Pisces widely opposes the equinox Sun, putting Pluto into the top of a T-square to the Sun/Uranus opposition. Thus, spiritual solutions will play an important role in the changes this fall, since Capricorn is one of the most spiritual signs in the Zodiac. The goat is relentless and has the fortitude to climb mountains to attain his goals because the Sun/Uranus tension activates the structural power of newly direct Pluto in Capricorn.

Basic structures in our world are being radically reformulated while Pluto is in Capricorn from 2008 to 2024. Since Pluto exactly squares the Sun during this Fall Equinox (which occurs right after the third Saturn/Uranus opposition on September 15), this fall is the real beginning of the great changes on Earth. Understanding the themes of the 2008-10 Saturn/Uranus oppositions offers much insight into how events may play out, so I will take a moment to discuss this again. Recall that the first opposition was November 4, 2008, exactly when Obama was elected, so we can be sure he is a theme on his own as the first black American to be president. Going back to the previous Saturn/Uranus oppositions in the mid-1960s, anger against racism and war was coming from youth and the radical left, and Obama's election has been somewhat of a resolution for them, except that he continues on in Afghanistan. Now, we are in the middle of the third Saturn/Uranus opposition and in the US we are seeing late-summer demonstrations by conservatives against universal health care and expanding deficits. Thus, I think the anger is coming from the radical right in America this time. They got what they wanted during the Bush/Cheney reign-war and protection for America above all else, and easy money-and now they feel Obama is taking their money and protection away; we may be seeing the seeds of a conservative revolution in the States.

Meanwhile, the great financial shakeup from 2007 until now was merely a precursor quake that gave the people in power a chance to grab more of the people's money. I will read this chart looking for aspects that can help us each see how we can best play our roles in this grand endeavor. After many years of celebrating all four seasons, I've noticed the equinoxes open multidimensional portals, while the solstices help us focus our practical work in 3D. The seventh dimension (7D) is especially available during the equinoxes because 7D is the dimension of sound (and light) frequencies that create realities in 3D. There is great potential to restructure our world in positive ways right now because this is a good time to ask for spiritual guidance, which will be very available.

Our guide for harmony is Venus in early Virgo, which elegantly trines Pluto in Capricorn. This receptive and earthy trine from the goddess emphasizes the importance of feminine agreement when society transforms. This is interesting because there has been little feminine support for war as the dominant tool for societal control during the last 5,125 years; women have barely tolerated men's war games. Venus in Virgo is healing and grounded, and her trine to Pluto suggests that feminine guidance will play a major role this fall as the reeling colossus-America as empire-unravels and collapses. This trine will inspire many people to consider their true values, especially when they lose their homes and income, while the empire sends more troops off to unknown lands, as if they are the disposable elements of overpopulation.

The Moon in Scorpio is very heavily aspected during the Fall Equinox, which means we are really going to feel the changes this fall. In fact, feelings will dominate everything soon, and feelings are usually what break down mind-control programs. In the past, humor was often the first element to break down unwanted patterns, yet nothing is very funny right now amidst the carnage and pain. Mars in Cancer trines the Moon, insuring that strong and watery feelings will be very dominant during a great emotional wave of consciousness that will flow while old worlds pass away. Saturn conjunct Mercury retrograde in 25 Virgo sextiles the Moon. The great emotional depth of the Moon in Scorpio will be supported by intelligent control and full awareness of just what is happening. Uranus in Pisces is in close opposition to stalwart Saturn/Mercury; the third opposition just occurred on September 15, and the high degree of stress in world societies continues to be worrisome. Yet, during the Fall Equinox, Uranus in Pisces trines the Moon in Scorpio, so on some level, the masses of people will accept the changes that they feel must come.

The Triple conjunction-Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune in Aquarius-closely squares the Moon in Scorpio, and this potent square will set off a great emotional release that will build and build this fall. As the most intense lunar placement, the Moon in Scorpio either destroys everything in its path, or it drives people into integrity by forcing them to seek ethical ways in spite of the inevitable evil, death, and abandonment that accompanies an earthly lifetime. The Moon in Scorpio drives us to face the truth about our selves and others. The square to the Scorpio Moon coming from the three planets in the Triple Conjunction pushes us to face deep wounding and spiritual desolation. It fills some with the desire to improve, others to cry out to the heavens for answers. Perhaps this configuration will finally force people to rebel against this "Age of Flying Body Parts"-a crazy world in which precious resources are used to blow people up. Next, high-tech triage medicine plays on the edge of life forcing damaged bodies to keep on going while families suffer and drug manufacturers play golf with the doctors. The world has moved into a nightmare zone from which it soon must awake. Perhaps the influence over the next three months of the Moon in Scorpio squaring the Triple Conjunction at this time is what could trigger massive rebellion against the current culture of suffering and death.

Mercury combust Saturn in Virgo, just after Saturn's exact opposition to Uranus in Pisces, screams that awareness and the demand for change will win the struggle, but how? The key is Mars in Cancer exactly quincunx Jupiter in Aquarius, and this aspect is the real pusher in the Fall Equinox chart. As mentioned, Mars in Cancer is very strong and demanding because Cancer is the strongest sign; Mars is the strongest planet, and together they will run with the ball to the end zone. So, this nervous quincunx to idealistic Jupiter in Aquarius will cause people to deeply question destroying the rest of the planet's resources for war and mayhem. Then when Jupiter goes direct on October 14, the forces needed to stop this destruction will kick into gear. I am not alluding to something like an anti-war movement, since the mercenary army has made that impossible. Instead, since Mars in Cancer quincunxes Jupiter in Aquarius, war will end the way it usually does, by financial bloodletting and exhaustion. Maybe people will begin to think about the costs of F-16s, stealth bombers, and Hummers when they are forced to buy florescent bulbs containing mercury that won't fit their old light fixtures.

The lunar North Node has moved into Capricorn where it will be until March 4, 2011, which is just after the opening of the Universal Underworld when we experience the final time acceleration. This assures us that hard reality is settling in now, and only the most practical methods will suffice. The North Node in Capricorn strips away frivolity and waste, forcing us to get back to basics. Yes, what I am saying is: We will see war greatly reduced this fall, or conversely an insane escalation will end up burning itself up in a fiery holocaust. Peace and love in the heart of each individual is going to be the only thing that can help us during this extreme time coming very shortly. Meanwhile, Mars in Cancer will give us strength while we experience the intensity of Moon in Scorpio. This fall is a time when we must see the truth above all else.

The influence of a season lasts for three months, and this chart sets a field in place that has strong influence until the Winter Solstice. As dire as this reading may sound, the turn to a new direction will be a relief. So, as this potent harmonic moves in, move into your heart and visualize peace on Earth and freedom from war and peace for all beings on the planet, and remember to breathe. This is a harmonic designed to move Earth into balance with the universe. The strength in your heart will support those who are directly caught in this insane mess. It is always hard to stop and turn around and go in a new direction, but now is the time.

9.9.9 and the Mayan Calendar

The number nine has been endowed with a special significance in many different spiritual and religious traditions. Nine was the number of muses in Greek mythology and Nine were the number of worlds in the Scandinavian. Nine was the number of doors to the holiest part of the temple in Jerusalem and the month of Ramadan is the Ninth in the Muslim calendar. Moreover, the counting system used by most of the world today includes nine numbers and so the relevance of this number is much ingrained in us. Also, in the Mayan tradition the number Nine plays a predominating role. The only existing inscription from ancient times that discusses the meaning of the Mayan calendar “end date” for instance speaks of Nine “deities” that will descend then as its crucial event. This would in modern wording mean that Nine energies, or Nine cosmic forces would fully manifest then since the ancient Maya would look upon time periods as “deities”. As far as we can tell these “deities”, or cosmic forces, are like evolutionary wave movements, built on top of one another where we are currently riding on the eighth one getting ready to ride on the ninth.

The Nine Cosmic levels (Underworlds) that according to the only existing Mayan inscription about the calendar end date (Tortuguero monument 6) will manifest then. In the manifestation of these evolutionary waves we may now as we approach the Ninth level notice an amazing synchronicity. This is that the upcoming date 9.9.9 (September 9, 2009 in the Gregorian calendar) happens to coincide with the beginning of a Mayan Sacred Calendar count of 260 days. Hence, in this calendar, in use since 3000 years, the modern date 9.9.9 has the energy of Hun Imix, or 1 Alligator as its English translation reads, which happens to be the first of its energetic combinations. If we ponder what this synchronicity may be telling us the most natural conclusion to draw is that on this particular date we are called to focus on the number nine and especially the Ninth level of the Mayan calendar system, whose coming into existence we are soon about to witness.

I believe that behind these cosmic forces, whose times of activation are described by the Mayan calendar, is an intelligent plan for the history of humanity that comes from a higher source and has a benevolent intention. To realize this is also to understand the importance of the guidance regarding how to follow this plan that we may gain from the calendar of the Maya. These nine cosmic forces are influencing and in fact governing our collective consciousness and so we have every reason to pay attention to what is going on in this cosmic time plan.

Synchronicities can often be interpreted in different ways, but if they are profound they always deserve our attention. 9.9.9, three Nines in a row, may for instance be seen as symbolic of three sacred calendar rounds of 260 days that will now in three steps lead us to the completion of the Ninth level of evolution which is its highest level. To the best of our knowledge this highest energy state of the universe will be attained on the energy 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13 13 Ahau (13 and Ahau are symbols of completion in the Mayan calendar) on the Gregorian date October 28, 2011. This highest state does not in any sense mean the end of the world, but only that all the Nine wave movements are then completed. Maybe we can use the metaphor that we are now about to climb the last hard steps of a ladder until we climb on to the roof where we will find a new stability under our feet and a place to rest.

Regardless of what this final climb will mean we thus have reasons to expect an unprecedented period of change in a very short period of time. This is partly because we are entering the final phase of the eighth level of evolution and partly because a wave movement of a very high frequency, the Ninth level, will radically come to transform the collective consciousness in such a way that we will see the world in an entirely different light. It is for this reason that in the three upcoming Sacred Calendar rounds that follow upon 9.9.9 we will need to network and focus our intentions so that they converge in the birth of a new world. This is all the more important as there are several sources that seem to indicate that the sixth night of the Galactic Underworld, beginning on November 8, 2009, may come to generate a deep downturn in the world’s economy.

The first of these 260-day Sacred Calendar rounds, the one which actually begins on 9.9.9 and goes on until May 26, 2010, may be seen as a period of build-up to the Ninth level that is suitable for prayer, meditation and mental focusing. We encourage community building, networking and spiritual synchronization in this time period, also of a practical nature. The second 260 calendar round, starting 27.05.10 will create a preliminary arrival of the Ninth level and the beginning of this will be marked by the Cosmic Convergence, July 17-18, a significant focus point for spiritual projects of a practical nature that will prepare for the birth of a new world. The third Sacred Calendar round of 260 days will begin February 11, 2011 and includes the actual activation of the Ninth level, the Universal Underworld on March 8, 2011. This may be the most dramatic of the three steps as it leads up to the establishment of the highest energy state of the universe on October 28, 2011.

I believe that through these three steps, three Sacred Calendar rounds, starting on 9.9.9: 1/ Build-up, 2/ Preparatory Ninth level and 3/ Actual Ninth level of the evolution of the cosmos, the universe is now about to deliver what it has been striving towards all along, the establishment of a new level of consciousness, a unity consciousness. I also believe that the Ninth level is designed especially to generate such a unity consciousness, which will transform all of human society. For the human race it will mean very big challenges and opportunities. These changes will however not happen by themselves and need to be manifested by the human beings themselves who may then chose to resist or welcome them. From this perspective we may thus look at the date 9.9.9 not only as a numerological curiosity to celebrate, but also as an opportunity for us to focus on and embrace the participation of humanity in a transformation process of a very large scale, the one brought by the Ninth level of the Cosmos.

From what we may understand of the Mayan calendar the unity consciousness will set an end to all forms of dominance of one human over another and especially those generated by the left brain. What this likely will mean is that instruments of dominance, such as the current financial system, weapons, national borders and many other structures upholding authority in this process will come to crumble as an effect of this unity consciousness coming into existence and so conclude with the birth of a new world where a divine harmony characterize the human relations. This end to dominance will also affect the relationship between the genders on a global scale that as a result will profoundly shift. Needless to say, there will never be any return to business as usual. Instead we will need to approach the birth of the new world consciously and with an intention of co-creating it in a positive sense and not just react to the various difficulties that lie ahead. I believe that such a collective intention of co-creating the new world will be the best way of easing the consequences of these difficulties.

Although what is starting on 9.9.9 is only the build-up phase to the Ninth level, this date is nonetheless a very important focusing point since the timing of the continued preparations for the emergence of this level are of the essence. From this follows that the more practical projects that will start to manifest in the Cosmic Convergence, July 17-18 2010 as the name implies, will have to be based on an understanding that the very framework of the human existence and of consciousness will be dramatically expanded. The expansion of human consciousness is what will bring the socio-economic transformation at a time when the hardships of the old systems may be expected to be painfully felt also by nations that currently may been considered as wealthy. As the Ninth level is finally activated our identities will come to be defined in a much expanded spiritual framework.

This article comes much too late to encourage people more broadly to focus and intend together for the future. Nonetheless, many will celebrate the 9.9.9 date regardless (see for example http://www.fredpajorden.se/sida21.html ). The purpose of my present article is then only to inform those that will be celebrating this date anyway, that indeed this is not just a numerological curiosity in the Gregorian calendar, but that the date plays a profound objective role in the cosmic plan as we may understand this from the Mayan calendar directly leading up to the birth of a new world through the Ninth level, 9.9.9. It is an ideal time to participate in prayers and meditations with the focus and intention of co-creating a new and better world. Additional tools for networking and communication with the focus on the Cosmic Convergence, July 17-18, 2012 will be developed as we go along. 9.9.9 may be seen as an initial and modest initial call for the co-creation of the birth of a new world.

The Perseid meteor shower is about to peak. The show begins after sunset on Tuesday, August 11th, and continues until the sun rises on Wednesday, August 12th. A time of particular interest is 0800-0900 GMT (1-2 a.m. PDT) on the 12th. That's when Earth is expected to pass through a denser-than-usual filament of dust from Perseid parent Comet Swift-Tuttle. Forecasters are unsure what will happen, but some have speculated that meteor rates could surge as high as 200 per hour. Bright moonlight will blot out many of those Perseids, but even a fraction of 200 is a good show.

This is the second New Moon in Cancer in 2009, and it forms an extremely tight solar eclipse. These unusual double New Moons with one eclipsed really gets our attention. The Summer Solstice occurs when the Sun moves into 0 degrees Cancer, which inspires us to seek nurturance and security amidst pleasant summer days and nights. This year, with two New Moons in Cancer, these Solstice themes are quadrupled for the whole summer. During the first New Moon in Cancer (as well as during the Solstice Sun), Pluto in Capricorn was in close opposition to the lunation. Now, during this eclipse, Pluto quincunxes the second New Moon in Cancer, causing some of us to feel cold tentacles reaching up from the underworld to steal away our precious security-just like Pluto snatched Persephone from her mother and took her into Hades.

This feeling of the darkness nipping at the edges of the light began during the Capricorn Lunar Eclipse on July 7, which strongly activated the 15- degree Cancer/Capricorn axis. Yet, the light seems to be so strong now-signaled by the first significant solar flare of Solar Cycle 24, the next cycle of sunspots. Now that the light is waning in the Northern Latitudes, it is wise to recall that the underworld is a source of great power, support, and mystery. Notice, for example, the nuclear accord (ruled by Pluto) that Obama and the Russians accomplished during the July 7th eclipse.

The major theme this spring and summer is the Triple Conjunction-Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron in Aquarius-that was trined by the first New Moon in Cancer on June 22. I have been noticing that many people are actually feeling how personal healing and contact with higher dimensions are essential for their wellbeing. Now, during such a close solar eclipse, the second Cancer New Moon forms an approaching quincunx to the Triple Conjunction. This quincunx-plus the quincunx from Pluto (which actually is a wide Yod to the Triple Conjunction-will push you to actualize your own healing and multidimensional access, which is a sharp and challenging process. Then during the New Moon in Leo on August 20, the New Moon will oppose the Triple conjunction, which will release its powers totally. This arrival of the Wounded Healer with expanded spiritual access is an unrelenting force now. If you feel overwhelmed by this opening, talk to others about it because everybody is feeling this opening.

This solar eclipse, exactly conjunct the lunar South Node, is the most intense one of the last 100 years, and its aspects suggest we are attaining multidimensional consciousness at the species level. We are realizing that cellular and ancestral healing-homeostasis-is the true source of our security on Earth and in the universe. In general, maximal intuitional access is ours during total solar eclipses, when the intuitive Moon obscures the egoic Sun and healing knowledge arises from within. In order to imagine how this works out amidst the potency of the Triple Conjunction, let's look at what happened during the lunar eclipse in Capricorn on July 7, when the agendas and issues of the New Moon in Cancer on June 22 were visible. Remember, during the Summer Solstice and these Cancer New Moons, our desire is security and nurturance.

When the Moon was full in Capricorn on July 6/7, how we can garner security came forth: While a billion people were hypnotized by the Michael Jackson Memorial Service, the Russians and the Americans achieved a nuclear arsenal reduction accord, as well as made agreements on how to deal effectively with Iran and with the missile shield that Bush/Cheney tried to locate close to Russian soil. If the missile shield is not built in this critical location, the "Star Wars" system will never be built, which would prevent our reentry into Universe Society during AD 2011. [See Exopolitics by Alfred Lambrement Webre.] Renewed hope came to the planet, while Michael Jackson's sad death shone a spotlight on the big health scandal-legal drugging of the people that is killing tens of thousands every year.

During Full Moons (in this case Cancer/Capricorn), the shadow natures of the two signs battle each other, and this forces us to see the truth about the issues that come up. Jackson is not the only one who got a heavy dose. Political forces in the US were conspiring to force taxpayers to pay more of their own resources to fund medicine-for-profit, just when the cultural icon was visibly murdered by pharmaceuticals! The shadow side of Cancer is neediness and the desire for too much pleasure, played out by Michael Jackson, while the shadow side of Capricorn is too much control and the desire to have all the power, played out by the doctor. When the Full Moon comes on and our emotions spill out of their normal boundaries, there are always some who are distressed and go too far. Meanwhile, those who observe the shadow with respect are often gifted with great revelations. During these two full months of emphasis on Cancer's themes, Capricorn has tended to lash out, bully, and try to take over, as can be seen in the demonstrations in Iran and China. I hope a few of you wondered why there were no such demonstrations in the US in 2000 and 2004 when the American election was rigged for Bush/Cheney?

During this July 7th Capricorn lunar eclipse, the earthy potency of Capricorn also melded with Cancer's watery wisdom. Possibly the most insecure and childish star of all time-Michael Jackson-was shoved in our faces just when the Restart Button-world peace-got pushed! Astrology and the timing of the Mayan Calendar suggest that Neverland is gone and the world has turned from war to peace. This is the significant turn because of the time-acceleration correspondence between Day Six of the Galactic Underworld and the Day Sixes of the Planetary and National Underworlds. [See Clow, The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind.] Using Day Six comparisons, we can look for the central themes and likely outcomes for issues we are processing now. July 2009 corresponds with 1966-68 of the Planetary, when the counterculture in America was demonstrating for civil rights, the end of war, and the right to a Summer of Love. The corresponding time during the National Underworld is 1090-1150, when Europe consolidated and created the early medieval breakthrough. If the 2009 nuclear accords hold through the New Moon and possibly more advances are achieved (such as a public announcement that the Americans will drop the missile shield), we may be witnessing the end of the nuclear stalemate. This could bring more peace to Earth and finally free our precious elemental powers so that we can use them ethically.

This complex of two New Moons in Cancer right after the Summer Solstice, with the July Full Moon and the second New Moon eclipsed, seems to be drawing great light to our planet. I feel like we have just passed beyond a major danger point, which Obama showed symbolically. Obama took his wife and children with him to Moscow, Italy, and Africa-an action that says, "We are not living in fear." I cannot remember any American president before taking his children to Russia and Africa. Looking at events during this moment, there are concrete signs of a great shift on our planet away from depression, discouragement, and weakness in the face of evil. Of course, the number of people who are terrified that the world is coming to an end -primary catastrophobia- is increasing as the light intensifies. For example, some people advocate that some of this summer's exquisite crop circles warn that the "12th Planet", "Wormwood", or the "Second Sun" are arriving, which they say will affect Earth's rotation. If you are groveling in fear this summer, perhaps you should read a wonderful eco-thriller, The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. The Pleiadians have often said that they admire our species because we survive on hope alone. Well, I think it is time to attain courage, the highest vibration of the human heart, even greater than unconditional love.

In the middle of this great turning, Uranus in Pisces went retrograde on June 30 just before the Full Moon in Capricorn, and this retrograde is of great significance. As mentioned in the June 22 New Moon analysis, Uranus T-squared the New Moon in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn, which was the warning shot for the coming seven squares of Uranus in Pluto in 2010-14. Uranus retrograde on June 30 moved the escalating Uranus/Pluto revolution into the inside of our consciousness, temporarily out of the outer field. This is a big deal because you may have suddenly felt like your spring equinox intentions got tanked June 30, but they have merely gone deep inside so they can grow roots. Trust your inner process, because it is what creates the world out there. As 3D reality seems to be crumbling, the inner edifice you are building this summer is your real security.

Let's go back to the New Moon chart and note that during this amazingly close solar eclipse, the quincunx from the Triple Conjunction pushes us to create effective vehicles for our security and nurturance. The separating quincunx from Pluto in Capricorn pushes us to reorganize primary systems on deep levels. Right now, you may feel like just tearing up and destroying old things that are not working anymore. Yet, the best guide right now is actually Jupiter conjunct Chiron, which is exact around twelve hours after the New Moon. This conjunction suggests: our power lies in the conscious expansion of our healing powers within what we are already doing in the world. Once this is integrated, it will be easy to discard old dysfunctional patterns. Of course, the Triple Conjunction is hammering that truth deep into our souls, so this is a matter of being more intentional and consciously choosing our own nurturing path. Jupiter was conjunct Neptune on July 10, when I detected some very high angelic beings coming to Earth, and I could hear some very high musical tones: something magical is happening! It is as if we are becoming more sensitive to the whole solar system as Earth responds to it. I think this is the case; people seems to be responding more and more strongly to astrological transits, which is a sign of becoming a self-reflective species-the Omega Point as described by Teilhard de Chardin.

Hours before this potent solar eclipse, Venus in 18 Gemini exactly squares Saturn in Virgo, which calls attention to the great alchemy we are creating on the planet this summer. Venus in an Air sign, squaring Saturn in Earth, can make you feel like this Earth project is too tough, too daunting, that the feminine support we need so much is "not there". But it is during the Cancer Solar Eclipse! So, Venus square Saturn moves to its higher potential, which calls us to be strong and receptive in spite of ourselves. The exact Venus-square-Saturn occurs just before the eclipse, so before the New Moon, it would be wise to do some work on the parts of your inner being that drag you backward into feelings of inadequacy, of being under-appreciated. Just let that negative self-judgment go and breathe in as the power of the New Moon builds. Focus your mind intently on the great power of the Triple Conjunction as it sextiles Pluto while forming a wide Yod to the New Moon. Since Jupiter conjuncts Chiron a few hours after the eclipse, then the glorious expansion of our healing powers can dominate the collective field if we've paid heed to our personal dragons. Considering Michael Jackson's murder by legal drugs, perhaps this hideous scandal will shed new light on the allopathic insurance scam.

Uranus went retrograde June 30 at 27 Pisces, and now the New Moon trines Uranus. This sympathetic and watery trine suggests that transformation is moving within now, and that there will be less crazy and rapid change on the outside until Uranus goes direct in December. The level of inner transformation could be very intense because Saturn in Virgo is moving into an opposition to Uranus in Pisces in mid-September, when we will all feel like we are being heated up to a boil. For now, because Uranus is retrograde, outside events may not show signs of great change for a little while. But, transformation is coming with the Saturn/Uranus oppositions in the fall, when major changes will be very apparent.

During the First Cancer New Moon on June 22, I noted that Uranus (which was still in direct motion) T-squared the New Moon opposite Pluto, and I suggested that the energy of the coming Uranus/Pluto squares was going to begin to be palpable. When Uranus turned retrograde July 1, how did you feel? Were you feeling nervous, apprehensive, and a bit gloomy? I was, and so I looked ahead a bit, and noticed that this current Uranus retrograde is the last one before Uranus goes into Aries in 2010, the beginning of a whole new cycle of transformation of our selves and culture. The Piscean party is just about over, but we will be wallowing in good old sensitive and empathic Pisces for a little while longer. Then when Uranus goes direct in early December, gentleness dissipates; and when Uranus goes into Aries in late May 2010, we will be molding aggressive new forms and identities.

Many of you may have heard about the coming "Cardinal Climax" in 2010 just before the end of the Mayan Calendar in 2011? Saturn in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn, and Uranus in Aries (all cardinal signs) will be forming squares and oppositions that will anneal and reconstitute individuals, economies, and societies. I will be discussing this climax a lot in the coming months. Here I just want to emphasize that the Uranus-retrograde period to early December, and then the period before Uranus goes into Aries, are good times to intentionally pursue your work on personal and societal spiritual mastery. This is needed because whatever we have developed spiritually since 1927 will be completing now. This is multi-generational, so much of what we've learned in our families and cultures could be lost if this work is not adequately valued. The degree to which you understand the various facets of your own spiritual development is the degree to which they can mature and develop for 84 years starting next year! When Uranus goes into Aries every 84 years, layers of unvalued spiritual mastery can dissolve as economies and systems crash. This actually happened as we entered the Great Depression, when the popularity of Spiritualism was lost and people were so depressed by the lingering effects of World War I.

Lastly, Mars in 7 Gemini sextiles Mercury in 8 Leo, which means our personal energy will be in synchronicity with our thoughts; we will feel competent and effective during this potent solar eclipse.

June 22nd New Moon in Cancer

It is the New Moon in Cancer, the time to evaluate our feelings about our own security and a time to be nurtured and loved. Occurring little more than a day after the Summer Solstice, it infuses our bodies and feelings with the potency of summer, making us feel stirred, joyful, and safe. Because this New Moon occurs so soon after the Solstice, the added keys to its message are in the aspects that have changed a lot since the Solstice: the fast-moving Moon, Sun, and Mercury will cause subtle changes in the overall harmonics of the slower-moving bodies. I will consider these subtle shifts as well as offer a traditional reading to ascertain how the potent, sensual, and highly transformative Solstice dynamic might release during the New Moon in Cancer.

The Sun's opposition to Pluto has tightened to less than 1 degree (combust), and it will be exact around eight hours after the New Moon. This intensifies the Sun/Pluto opposition of the Summer Solstice. Of course, since the Moon conjuncts the Sun during the New Moon, they are fused in opposition to Pluto, which will be very challenging for your feelings and sense of personal identity. You may experience a cathartic emotional crisis that presents you with a newly truthful sense of who you really are. In the collective, Pluto in Capricorn (2008-2024) is directing a total transformation of our economic and societal systems and the way we use resources. Most people realize nothing will stop this process, and they have no idea what will replace this crumbling edifice. Our brains are hard-wired into the collective field, so beware of getting sucked into the collective dynamic and losing your identity on this day, since the Cancer New Moon is your time to discover yourself.

The New Moon in early Cancer inspires each one of us to find the goddess within, to find new ways to nurture life and ourselves. As we experience the rising of the goddess within, Pluto's opposition reminds us that Pluto takes the goddess Persephone into the Underworld while her mother, Demeter, searches for her and grieves. This mythical story of Demeter and Persephone reminds us that now the darkness is coming back as the strength of the Sun begins to wane.

Uranus in Pisces forms a T-square to the New Moon-opposite-Pluto, which brings another Greek god into the dance with Pluto. Uranus was so rabid to transform the world that he even ate his own sons and disgorged them in new forms, and Pluto stole Demeter's daughter for half the year, so who wants to hear anything more about these evil Titans? Well, this New Moon evokes a potent memory that has been lurking dormant within our societal memory-our experiences during Uranus-conjunct-Pluto in Virgo in the mid-1960s. This aspect during the sixties inspired great change, rebellion, and the desire for a better world-a desire that has been cooking and waiting to manifest for more than forty years. Since Uranus is stationary and turns retrograde on June 30, this wide T-square during the Cancer New Moon sends out a warning shot about the first (waxing) exact square of Uranus to Pluto since the grand conjunctions. The waxing Uranus/Pluto square will bring back the desire for a better world that came up during the 1960s, the hopes that were not realized. In July 2011, Uranus comes very close to squaring Pluto, and then there will be seven exact squares 2012-2015. Wow!

The coming Uranus/Pluto squares in Libra/Capricorn will be the driving force that creates a new evolutionary agenda based on human enlightenment, once the time acceleration of the Universal Underworld during 2011 is complete. [See Clow, The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind.] When two outer planets conjunct, as Uranus and Pluto did during the sixties, a whole new creation cycle begins. Uranus-conjunct-Pluto rules the transformation of the underworld-the shadow world-and in Virgo, the agenda is cleansing emotional wounding and healing ecosystems. Ecology, a conscious movement to heal the planet, emerged in the sixties. Now as Uranus and Pluto begin to achieve their first square, our species will manifest real and practical ways to achieve true ecology.

[Uranus goes into Aries from May 2010 through August 2010 and then fully in March 2011, and this will begin a new 84-year process of transformation. The last Uranus-in-Aries transit was 1927 through 1935, which might cause some of you to reflect on the likely condition of the economy from 2011 to 2019! When Uranus is in Aries, the old goes out and the new comes in, and when Pluto is in Capricorn, all basic structures are totally transformed. So, Uranus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn will usher in a whole new world that nobody can even imagine now. Like all births, the process will be tumultuous. Maybe stationary Uranus in his T-square to the New Moon reminds us that everything always changes, even during the deep yin energy of the Cancer New Moon? The sign that resists change the most is Cancer. Regardless, you won't be able to ignore the creeping awareness of a roaring energy coming soon with Uranus-square-Pluto in cardinal signs. Radical change coming soon will slip into your consciousness during this New Moon, and then it will slip into a dormant place in your consciousness when Uranus turns retrograde June 30.]

This New Moon in Cancer trines the Triple Conjunction of Chiron, Neptune, and Jupiter in Aquarius. This is rich in meaning and suggests that our healing and nurturance this month comes from the energy of the Triple Conjunction. For the past few months, we've been whipsawing between flashes of enlightenment and searing deep wounding. We've been driven into old pain, and many can see that these wounds are what have been limiting the expansion of feelings and knowledge. Each time we've allowed the process to run its course, we've been rewarded with stunning spiritual insight and exquisite ecstasies. This ability to break through blocks is becoming Pavlovian (people being ruled by conditioned responses); we are learning how to dive into the pain to find ecstasy. The lovely trine from the new Moon to the Triple Conjunction helps us know that ultimately it is the goddess who heals; we find ourselves by going into the dark. So, even though Persephone was stolen away from her loving mother, she discovered how to be a woman and a lover. This lunation is really about loving your woman within, and you have her too, guys. The goddess within is the deepest source of creativity for all beings; only the goddess can show us how to live in balance with Earth.

Between the Solstice and the New Moon, Venus was exactly conjunct Mars in Taurus in exact trine to Saturn, and these aspects are very tight at the time of the New Moon. These are earthy and deeply reassuring aspects that take us back to being a secure child of loving parents, an experience we have all had at least in some lifetimes. Venus/Mars in Taurus is passionate and secure, while father Saturn in Virgo is the perfect guardian and organizer. This month you may find you can accomplish almost anything as long as you allow the wounding/breakthrough process of the Triple Conjunction. This lunation is a great time to fall in love and to insist upon things that are good for you. Mercury is moving into a square to Saturn that will be exact on June 26, so you can easily solve problems and clean up details right after the New Moon.

Pluto is closely quincunx the lunar South Node in Leo, which moves into Cancer in late July. Pluto in early Capricorn is pushing us to finish the last issues that have come up while the North Node has been in Aquarius since December 2007. While the North Node has been in Aquarius, we've been pursuing idealism and selflessness, and when the North Node goes into Capricorn in July, we will focus on practical ways to manifest these ideals. Thus, Pluto in Capricorn quincunx the South Node pushes us to reevaluate our cherished ideals during this lunation, since soon we will focus on hard realities and figure out how to bring those ideals into working form.

This New Moon sends out a strong message to consider what really matters to you, so that you will have the strength and resources to face great changes. It is a time to value the small things, the tender things, and to make sure you are finding new ways to protect them no matter what. The New Moon trine to the Triple Conjunction informs us that healing ourselves is the way to create a healthy, nurturing world, and Venus/Mars in Taurus trine Saturn assures us the path is there if we take the time to enjoy simple pleasures. This will be an exceedingly pleasurable and thought-provoking month.

Coming after the great Earth awakening during Taurus, now the New Moon in Gemini quickens the plants, animals, and our body/minds. The Gemini New Moon is always enlivening and exciting, and 2009 is no exception because it describes the spiritual quickening of our species. We are remembering our destiny as a cosmic species, which is making many people desire to end their painful separation from divine consciousness; the Triple Conjunction of Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune in Aquarius will catalyze human communion with the divine. This opening is going to quicken during the Gemini lunation, which will release the powers of this subtle planetary fusion with the divine.

The midpoint of Day Six of the Galactic Underworld (January 1999 to February 2011) was May 11, 2009. [See The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind.] I was amazed by what was going on in people's auras during the midpoint. Cosmic forces seemed to be penetrating deeper and deeper into their auras, and this seemed to be eroding the boundaries separating them from full energy potential. They were opening like flowers amidst the building influence of the Triple Conjunction. The midpoint weekend was also a wild Full Moon in Scorpio, during which Gerry and I conducted a "Journey through Nine Dimensions" activation in Vancouver, BC. We were both quite astounded, as well as concerned, by what was going on with students.

Because many participants were feeling their boundaries softening, the activation was almost too much for some of them, which made teaching more difficult for us. Yet, these students were achieving non-separation, which meant we equalized with them as teachers. Of course, this intensification arrived during the midpoint of Day Six, which is the high point of our evolutionary flowering during the Galactic Underworld! I am sharing these recent experiences with students because I am sure that many of you readers are feeling emotional and physical stress yourselves. This is always what happens when dormant spiritual awareness is awakened; so, you must rest, be in nature, and eat very healthy food. The second half of Day Six has begun, and our creations are going to become much more complex as we access more levels of awareness. Regarding the Mayan Calendar, the god or goddess that rules the next cycle (Night Six in this case) begins its influence during the second half of a Day or Night. The deity that rules Night Six, which opens November 7, 2009, is Tlahuizcalpantecuthli, the ruler before the dawn, Day Seven. The arrival of this deity heralds the time when those who have been intentionally transforming themselves will begin to feel better; however, those who've been resisting change will be very stressed and freaked out. Meanwhile, I think the only way we could have an egalitarian world would be for each one of us to attain personal enlightenment-to fully manifest our spiritual and healing capacities. Astrology provides exquisite cosmic metaphors that are right in tandem with the last days of the Mayan Calendar. For example, as we turn this next great corner to our freedom, the Gemini New Moon reveals the codes of our quickening. After all, we are the yeast in the rising bread of enlightenment, which is why our spirits chose to incarnate now. I will read this New Moon's chart as a script for this quickening, as our attainment of flow with spirit.

The New Moon is in 3 Gemini, trining the lunar North Node in 2 Aquarius; it also quincunxes Pluto retrograde in 3 Capricorn. The trine to airy North Node in Aquarius (which will soon move into Capricorn) means we will have an easy and firm grasp of karmic purpose during this lunation; we will know what me must do and experience a good sense of timing. During the Spring Equinox, we began to actually feel ourselves creating the greater reality; this was due to the pushy influence of the equinox Sun closely squaring Pluto in Capricorn. Now this spring energy comes to fruition by this solar/lunar quincunx to newly retrograde Pluto in Capricorn; our co-creational powers churn in our guts. We feel the seriousness of our times and know that we are connected to the events and outcomes. A great place for observing this push-and-pull between individuals and collective dramas is in the massive closing of automobile dealerships, which have been economic bellwethers and community fixtures since the Great Depression. Transformations like this are now penetrating deeply into the American economy, underscored by Pluto turning retrograde on April 4, 2009, while Saturn was also in retrograde. Then, amidst complex and divisive Mars/Venus aspects during the spring, many of you were living out personal dramas that felt like archetypal battles between the Greek gods. They are! They were all designed to get you on the stage of life and act! The collapse of the auto economy is designed to release an old technology and all its limitations, but most people are totally addicted to its comforts.

Pluto's intense, transformational agenda just found a new avenue during Saturn's direct station on May 16, 2009, right after the closure of many car dealerships was announced. With Saturn's assistance in reliable and responsible Virgo (which trines Pluto in Capricorn), people are searching within themselves for new ways to live. Amidst this deep consideration, retrograde Pluto sucks our consciousness into greater connection with all that is, to our cosmic linkage. The Mayan Calendar and astrology are in concordance with these driving forces. For example, Pluto's crossing of the Galactic Center during 2007 locked our souls into great cosmic processes, when Chiron and Neptune were moving closer together in the sky. The outer planets are always the key to great changes in our world.

In Capricorn until 2024, Pluto forces us to clean up the excesses of the National (3316 BC-AD 2011) and Planetary (AD 1755-2011) Underworlds. These change processes moved inward with Pluto's retrograde on April 4, which made it possible for each one of us to realign ourselves with each other and the new flow. At this point, enough people realize that the intense change processes are not going to stop, and they are seeking new ways to cope. Then, when Saturn turned direct at 15 degrees of Virgo on May 16, a great balancing act began between each one of us and the universe. Instinctually, we sense that reliable old Saturn will soon change into another force. Yes, Saturn goes into Libra in late October, where he will be much less kind and much more demanding. Meanwhile, somewhere within the divine spark in each one of us, we remember who we are and why we are here now. Some even sense that the undirected "unjust" outer world is beginning to align with the real needs of our species. Therefore, the collapse of totally outmoded systems like autos not only makes some sense, it is even welcomed by some. The Gemini New Moon quincunx Pluto retrograde in Capricorn may release a tone from unsold cars in weedy lots that are mysteriously honking their horns just before the Summer Solstice! We'd better be listening to these horns, since quincunxes always get their way.

The New Moon quincunx to Pluto is a waxing quincunx-one that is moving into the Sun/Pluto opposition to come just after the Cancer New Moon, which occurs right after the Summer Solstice. Waxing quincunxes are very pushy and demanding because they are revving up to attain the full power of the coming opposition. So, the New Moon quincunx Pluto brazenly taunts smoldering Pluto in early Capricorn: "Come on, big boy hiding in the deep, show me your staying power, if you have any." Many of us will reorder their priorities during this lunation. Once upon a time in the ancient days when this influence would occur, maybe a great volcano would blow. But now, the volcano is heating up the magma in our hearts, and transmuting us with fire. You must use this energy judiciously, which is not possible without taking advantage of the things you've learned from your spiritual practices all these years. Luckily, the indications are in the sky and their meaning is clear and undeniable: The key to handling the New Moon's challenge is to open yourself to the Triple Conjunction-Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune in Aquarius.

We astrologers talk on and on about Neptune as a guide for connecting with spirit worlds. It has become a cliché, and most people just don't think about what that means. So, I will attempt to find other words to describe Neptune's influence. Most of the time, we are separated out from all-that-is, the timeless energy fields of our cosmic bodies. We are caught in time and place, and then once in awhile we experience a breakthrough into all-that-is-a peak experience. When this happens, the boundaries around our separated selves melt, and we experience "oneness" or enlightenment. Children frequently exist in oneness-especially infants-but then painful experiences cause them to close up and separate from divine consciousness. While we are alive, Chiron's transits-usually by conjunction, square, and opposition-erode the boundaries of the separated self by means of piercing stabs into deep inner wounds. When these wounds occurred in this life or past lives, we erected boundaries around the wounds, yet the very energy that could reconnect us with spirit-Neptune-is locked out. So, Chiron and Neptune working together can erode these boundaries that block cosmic fusion. In other words, accessing pain sometimes opens spiritual connection, and this is what we resist the most.

Chiron's transits inspire us to heal our selves and others by piercing the deepest wounds of this life and from the past, so we can be healed by Neptune's balm. These days, this tandem process causes many to realize that we are a multi-traumatized species that is healing now. So, piercing core wounds and melting the boundaries separating us from spirit is a collective experience. The Triple Conjunction catalyzed by this Gemini New Moon opens the collective wounds. As mentioned last month, right after the last Triple Conjunction in 1944, the Americans dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the most obscene wound afflicting our species in thousands of years; now the potential for healing this murder by radiation has arrived. Then, as Chiron and Neptune do their work, Jupiter is expanding and expanding their healing powers; Jupiter pushes us to oneness. The exact conjunction of Chiron and Neptune occurs three times during 2010, when we will experience the ultimate breakthrough of spiritual awakening through the surrender of our collective wounding. But, the aspects between the three planets just before, during, and after this New Moon are very close, and also Chiron and Neptune are stationary in the sky. This planetary stand-down will tear away the outer shells of our resistance to spirit, like a planet's atmosphere being stripped off by a close asteroid. Fortunately, Saturn's forward direction in mid-Virgo is a wonderful constructive scaffolding for our quivering minds and souls. Let us look at the dance between these three planets to comprehend how they are affecting us even now. No one will escape this intense "chirotic" fire.

Our soul-burning began on May 16 when Saturn turned direct in mid-Virgo, the day when the Sun in 26 Taurus first squared Jupiter in 26 Aquarius, next squared Chiron in 26 Aquarius, then squared Neptune in 26 Aquarius. The solar squares to the Triple Conjunction occurred just before the last-quarter Moon, the reckoning moment of each lunation. Jupiter was exactly conjunct Chiron on May 23-expanding and exposing our access to inner wounds-and will conjunct Neptune on May 27, which will expand our spiritual contact. Then, almost unbelievably, Neptune will turn retrograde on May 28, Chiron will turn retrograde May 30, and Jupiter will retrograde June 15 and go right back to conjunct Neptune and Chiron again! That is, the two-day-apart Neptune/Chiron retrograde stations will nucleate the closest pass of all three planets in Aquarius. I guarantee it, these aspects may test your sanity in light of the pain you must face; I suggest you remember how to pray. The point of the Triple Conjunction is to railroad our species into adopting spiritual healing, so we'll get an explosion of guidance if we just ask for it.

The powers of the Triple Conjunction will flow strongly through its close sextile to Mars in 24 Aries. Often, Mars-in-Aries energy is too strong for most of us, and we just avoid it, but this time we will appreciate its clear and demanding directives. Our inner female will cooperate with Mars, since Venus in Aries is in a wide conjunction to Mars; we will feel strong and sensitive, alert and allowing. Venus in Aries is also in a waning or completing quincunx to Saturn in Virgo, which suggests we have learned to value feminine strength that comes from surrender and "allowing". This quincunx encourages women to value masculine Saturn's ability to structure and order things, which has been most welcome amidst so much change. I feel that advances for women are coming along very nicely these days, and the exact quincunx of Venus to Saturn may spotlight influential women.

Uranus, the planet that rules transformation and change, is in 26 Pisces sextiling Mercury retrograde in 24 Taurus. Mercury turned retrograde May 6, 2009, at 2 Gemini, and he goes direct May 30 at 23 Taurus, and his exact sextile to Neptune will occur June 6. So, our mental reflections are still very inward during this New Moon, and the sextile from Uranus in Pisces suggests that our thought processes tend to be very spiritual, very subtle. Mercury rules the lower mind and Uranus rules the higher mind, and sometimes a sextile between Mercury/Uranus allows us to bridge to higher worlds, which is even more likely when Mercury is in retrograde. Yet, Mercury is slow and plodding in Taurus, and Uranus in Pisces transforms inwardly, so perhaps you will have wonderful dreams.

As you can see, this New Moon is generally very spiritual, but it is even more than that. The Triple Conjunction is now in action full bore for almost a year, and then Chiron and Neptune will travel close together in the sky through 2013. The Chiron/Neptune conjunction occurring during the last days of the Mayan Calendar means we are ready to release our boundaries around thousands of years of wounding experiences. The dance of the Triple Conjunction says we will expand beyond inner wounding and manifest the spiritual powers that are our birthright. This New Moon in Gemini is the seed of alchemical healing, the seed that will germinate within our species and take us back into cosmic fusion through 2011.

Last, but not least, the Moon in the 1776 USA Founding Chart is 27 Aquarius conjunct Barack Obama's lunar South Node in 27 Aquarius. This means the Triple Conjunction will have an especially intense impact on the United States, and this should result in some very painful yet meaningful events. Considering Obama's South Node, he has returned from the past to lead America through this treacherous passage. It will be extremely interesting to see how the Gemini lunation plays out, especially in the United States. Some form of surrender and healing may occur, and Obama may be President for just that reason. Stay tuned!

On May 5th, it produced an impressive coronal mass ejection (CME) and a burst of radio emissions signalling the passage of a shock wave through the sun's outer atmosphere.
