Juno Reactor is a musical and performing act known for the cinematic fusion of electronic, orchestral and global music, the Matrix score and other film works. Central to the project is Ben Watkins, and his collaborations with a constantly changing ensemble of musicians from across the world, including percussionist Mabi Thobejane from South Africa along with countrymen Amampondo, Eduardo Niebla, Steve Stevens, Greg Ellis, Taz Alexander, Ghetto Priest, Sugizo and recently Yasmin Levy. Originally Juno Reactor was formed as an art project in 1990; Ben Watkins wanted to collaborate with other artists to produce and be involved in exciting projects that were not commercially driven. He wanted to create experimental music/non musical soundtracks that would work with installations, art pieces and film projects.

The Chilluminati, in our 3rd year, present a 3 day open-air festival focusing on psychedelic music, art, and culture, all within the Earthdance concept. This is an official and registered Earthdance event.

Earthdance, the Global Dance Festival for Peace has grown to become the world's largest simultaneous music and dance event. Founded in 1996, with 22 cities and 18 countries participating, Earthdance has grown to over 300 locations in 60 countries participating in 2007, with locations ranging from the club-lands of New York to the rainforests of Brazil. Every year, in alignment with the International Day of Peace, over 200,000 people unite in dance with hundreds of thousands more joining online in support of global peace and humanitarian aims.

The defining moment of each Earthdance event is a synchronized link-up, (6pm Central Time) when every event around the world plays a specially produced song called "The Prayer for Peace" at exactly the same time.

Earthdance has been described by the music industry as the "Dance Aid" for the new millennium. The aim of the event is to bring together global communities to create a synchronized global festival and dance event to help fund humanitarian causes and develop an environment of peace throughout the global community.

Earthdance is a non-political event and is organized by Earthdance International, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

Honoring the Earth: This year, the Earthdance “Prayer for Peace” will be followed by a unified Global MA, as people across the world synchronize their voices with the intention of healing the Earth.

To increase cohesiveness and provide a single, specific point of focus for the global community, the “Prayer for Peace” will be immediately followed by a recording of a fundamental tone (the specific human frequency of 125hz), which will serve as a foundation for people to tune into.

The Earth is our Home, our Mother. We are born from it’s soil and return to it when we die. During this time of accelerated global change and environmental devastation, we are being called to honor our Earth and find new ways to live sustainably on this planet.

At 6:00pm CST on Saturday September 13th, 2008 people across the world will unite their voices to create a synchronized Global MA (Pronounced "MAAAAH") to honor our Mother Earth and all Mothers on our planet. This moment will be the highlight of Earthdance 2008, and will follow the “Prayer for Peace” which unifies people in over 350 cities, in 65 counties.

Every group associated with Earthdance must commit to giving at least 50% of their profits to a charitable organization. **Robert Rich** - Live PA - Soundscape Productions // Mountain View, CA

Across three decades and over 30 albums, Robert Rich has helped define the genres of ambient music, dark-ambient, tribal and trance, yet his music remains hard to categorize. Part of his unique sound comes from using home-made acoustic and electronic instruments, microtonal harmonies, computer-based signal processing, chaotic systems and feedback networks. Rich began building his own analog synthesizers in 1976, when he was 13 years old, and later studied for a year at Stanford’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA).

Rich released his first album Sunyata in 1982. Most of his subsequent recordings came out in Europe until 1989, when Rich began a string of critically acclaimed releases for Fathom/Hearts of Space, including Rainforest (1989), Gaudí (1991), Propagation (1994) and Seven Veils (1998). His two collaborations with Steve Roach, Strata (1990) and Soma (1992), both charted for several months in Billboard. Other respected collaborations include Stalker (1995 with B. Lustmord), Fissures (1997 with Alio Die) and Outpost (2002 with Ian Boddy.) Rich’s contributions to multi-artist compilations have been collected on his solo albums A Troubled Resting Place (1996) and Below Zero (1998). His group, Amoeba, explored atmospheric songcraft on their CDs Watchful (1997) and Pivot (2000). Live albums such as Calling Down the Sky (2004) and 3-CD Humidity (2000) document the unique improvised flow of his performances.

Rich has performed in caves, cathedrals, planetaria, art galleries and concert halls throughout Europe and North America. His all-night Sleep Concerts, first performed in 1982, became legendary in the San Francisco area. In 1996 he revived his all-night concert format, playing Sleep Concerts for live and radio audiences across the U.S. during a three month tour. In 2001 Rich released the 7 hour DVD Somnium, a studio distillation of the Sleep Concert experience, possibly the longest continuous piece of music ever released at the time.

Rich has designed sounds for television and film scores, including the films Pitch Black, Crazy Beautiful, Behind Enemy Lines and others. His musical scores grace films by Yahia Mehamdi (Thank you for your Patience, 2003) and Daniel Colvin (Atlas Dei, 2007, with 90 minutes of Rich’s music in surround); and a video installation by Michael Somoroff (Illumination, 2007). Rich works closely with electronic instrument manufacturers, and his sound design has filled preset libraries of Emu’s Proteus 3 and Morpheus, Seer Systems’ Reality, sampling disks Things that Go Bump in the Night, ACID Loop Library Liquid Planet, WayOutWare’s TimewARP2600, and synths by Camel Audio. Rich has written software for composers who work in just intonation, and he helped develop the MIDI microtuning specification. As mastering engineer and mixer, he has applied his ear to albums in all styles, and his studio was featured twice in Keyboard Magazine, and elsewhere worldwide.

**Ghreg on Earth** - LIVE + DJ - MoE // San Francisco, CA

Since the late 1980s, Ghreg On Earth has woven a unique musical vision as DJ, A&R manager and Producer. His dedication and passion for an intelligent, gritty and moody musical journey, has forged a sound that is known for it’s timeless cinematic spaces that push the trance medium far beyond its formula parameters. Meshing, Blurring and Slurring wildly diverse stylistic elements into trance dancefloor alchemy, his sound has become synonymous with adventure in the unpredictable peak of sonic apotheosis.

Ghreg’s debut full length album, Sigilweaver, stunned and lit afire the trance world with its release in Winter of 2005. It represents a new benchmark in sound exploration that continues to awe listeners and dancers hungry for a timeless journey through the outer regions and inner alcoves of deep nighttime soundscapes.

Ghreg On Earth currently resides on the West Coast of North America (Earth) where he continues to create electronic music without boundaries…. taking the next steps into futuristic mythologies that conjure the sonic imagination of tomorrow.

**Aerosis** - LIVE PA - Suntrip Records // Minnesota + California

Aerosis was formed in the summer of 2006 by Goa Trance artists Bobby "Synogen" Ognyanov and Jeremy "Tempestuous G" Green and debuted the project on August 1st, 2006. Producing since 2004, the two talents convened at a site a site called ACIDplanet, and have been learning production from each other ever since. The first track the two created was Contorsion, and is also their first song to be released professionally, through their friends at Suntrip Records. Contorsion is the 2nd track featured on the Twist Dreams compilation.

Alternately and individually known as Synogen (Bobby) and Tempestuous G ( Jeremy) the two are known to dabble in a wide assortment of projects, but have culminated into a steady (and looks like lasting) focus on Aerosis.

Aerosis is working towards the completion of their debut album "Leap of Faith", aiming to bedazzle the goa collective with a delighting tale of spiritual exploration.

**Distant System** Live PA - Celestial Dragon Records // Colorado

Distant System is an electronic music project that began in 2006, constructed by audio producer, Tyler Smith. Remote audio expansions designed and sequenced for cerebral migrations or active environments. Universal frequency dilation for macrocosmic chillout endeavors. Tyler has experimented with electronic music for over 10 years, and with the Distant System project, creates sonic textures and rhythms that engage and extend the experiencer.

**Androcell** - Live PA - Celestial Dragon Records // Colorado

Androcell is an electronic / organic music project that began in 2003, created by audio producer, Tyler Smith. Tyler has experimented with electronic sound forms for over 10 years, but has been involved in music throughout most of his life, stemming from a piano, vocal, and percussion background. He designs his music as an aural habitat for cognizant chillers who seek to experience excursions through sound.

KiloWatts - Live PA - Psymbolic--sounds + Native State // Philadelphia

KiloWatts (James Watts) is a quirky electronic experimenter of whom has released numerous tracks on albums with various labels. He's also 1/2 of the glitchpop group KiloWatts & Vanek, and 1/2 of the Peruvian Amazon outfit 'Skeetaz' with Bil Bless. All in all, KiloWatts is a complex rhythmic audio editor that creates dynamic and unpredictable moods by interweaving an amalgam of experimental ambience and rich melodic structures.

Daksinamurti - Shiva Space Technology // Germany

Daksinamurti is Till K. From Marburg/ Germany. In his sets he prefers twilight styled / Night Full ON. But i also have a weakness for good produced non cheesy morning music. In 2005 he joined Shiva Space Technology for which he made a compilation. At the end of 2007 he joined the South African label "Nexus Media"

Together with Dj Shivamoon he runs the India based label Rudraksh Records where Till is A&R and Co-Manager. Daksinamurti performed at

Freedom Festival (Portugal 2005 & 2007), Ominfestival (Spain/2005) Fullmoon Festival (Germany 2006 & 2008) Antaris (Germany 2006)Fusion (Germany/2007) Psycrowdelica (2007), VuuV (2008) and various other parties in countries such as South Africa Germany, Portugal,India ,Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Norway, Poland, Belgium, Thailand, Netherlands,Italy,Dubai, Uk,Finland

DJ Niki - Mighty Quinn Records // Japan

DJ NIKI is a co-founder and owner of Tokyo based psychedelic trance label Mighty Quinn Records. Together with his partner Toshi he has released two well recognized and respected compilations: “Royal Straight Flush” and “Beauty and the Beast”. In 2008 together with Spliffnik, another very successful compilation was born under the name of “The Invisible Hand”. Currently Niki is working on the next compilation for Mighty Quinn Records. Dj Niki has been Djing since 2004 and had played at numerous psychedelic parties. Getting a reputation as one of the most underground-psychedelic DJs around, he had shared the decks with artists such as Penta, Psykovsky, Osom, Jahbo, Kindzadza, Parus, Polyphonia, Dejan and Jellyheadz, Mussy Moody, Candy Power, Metallaxis, Drury Nevil, Savage Scream and many, many more. Dj Niki has acquired a full length and power mighty collection of music and presents a complete psychedelic story to the dancer on the floor, truly in the Mighty Quinn Records style. His sets are described to be perfect for any time of the party and are always smooth, rhythmic, mysterious, and create a perfect atmosphere for body and mind. Trancers and dancers are permanently put in a happy, easy going, relaxed state of mind throughout the set. Feel free to come and share this experience with DJ Niki. Boom!

Random - Phoenix Family + VaporVent + Geomagnetic // San Francisco, CA

Random is San Francisco California native Ross DuBois a principal dj and producer of goa/psy-trance coming from the USA. He has toured the US, Canada, and Mexico extensively playing at festivals, clubs, outdoors, indoors, night time and day. "Implicate Order," Random's first full length album was released worldwide in 2006 on Geomagnetic.tv. With 15 + singles on labels like VaporVent, Geomagnetic, Timecode, Acidance, Kagdila, Shiva Space Technology, and many more. His music kidnaps the listener’s mind and sends it spiraling beyond space and time, it's intelligent, crunchy, groovy and mind-expanding. Random's flawless djing and psychedelic audio wizard has been zapping dance floors silly since 1996. The world is ready for this sensation to storm you to bliss!

The Professor - Meta EnTrance // Phoenix

Known for his intense, sophisticated and high-energy sound, the Professor is a well respected dj in the Mid-West psychedelic music scene. The Professor is well-known for his captivating aura, attracting people onto the dance floors with his driving high energy orchestration of sound. Innovative and spontaneous, he reads a crowd and spins mental mayhem to amplify the energy on the dance floor, keeping crowds stomping well into the sunshine of the day. While constantly requested to provide boomin full on daytime sets, he has revealed an entirely original dark psy style which infuses higher resonancing.

The Professor, A.K.A. Bradley John grew up in the Mid-West in a small town in Illinois called Normal. He started djing electronic music in 1998 while attending Full Sail recording school in Orlando, Florida. His first influences were progressive house and breakbeats. After working for Universal Studios as a live sound engineer for six years, he headed back to the Mid-West to find his roots. There he discovered psytrance in his hometown. Brad then began playing shows as a core member of the TRANCEPSYNDICATE under the dj name Professor X.

Now the Professor is living in the rural desert outside of Phoenix, Arizona. He participates in events with local psytrance collective OVERMINDWORKS and visual artist eNdo. The Professor is also a featured artist at META enTRANCE, a psychedelic trance radio station and psytrance portal.

The Great Mundane - Psymbolic--sounds // Chicago

Shaped by a "Do It Yourself" culture, Jeffrey Acciaioli was driven by his love of music to create the moniker The Great Mundane at first to only satisfy himself. Born and raised in Farmington Hills, Michigan he was exposed and later influenced by genres such as classical, jazz, bossa nova, hip-hop, and electronica. His broad range of favorites and training allow us to enjoy his "one of a kind" sound that is anything but mundane. The Great Mundane's twisting textures, catchy drum whips, and unique soundscapes leave us with a melodic collage that is unlike anything we've heard before. The Great Mundane was first introduced into the Chicago music scene before taking his passion and energy nation wide. Soon international ears were falling upon his unique sounds and requesting his talents. Recognized and appreciated by his untraditional sounds, The Great Mundane worked with Belladonna Records to release two limited time EP's and has released his debut album "When Falls Arrive" with Psymbolic--sounds.

Paradigm - Geomagnetic.TV + Xcience // San Francisco

Paradigm's reputation for pinpoint accurate mixing, smooth and clean equalizer work, dynamic and groovy bass-lines and infectious stage persona caught the attention of America's psy trance scene, and has made him one of the most sought trance DJ's in North America. Paradigm has been fortunate enough to share the stage with artists such as Wizzy Noise, Atomic Pulse, D-tek, Eskimo, Neuromotor, Hyper-Frequencies, Earthling, Dark Soho, Miraculix, C.P.U., Quadra, Astrix, Nomad, Paul Taylor (Spun), Shawnodese (Mind Funk), Arturo (Maia), Anneli (Sweden) and so on...and of course many if not most of the US based producers including Penta, Chromatone, Random, Deeper in Zen, Ghreg on Earth, Mubali and almost every other U.S. live-performance worth mentioning.

Primordial Ooze - Divine Balance Records + Kabrathor // Chicago + Milwaukee

The Primordial Ooze project was created by DJ's Kaiser Soze and S.O.T. as an experiment in genetic sound programming and nano-acoustic engineering... Self-replicating and mutating algorithms, swarms of frequencies that collaborate, breed and communicate, flourish in an environment of artificial selection and continual evolution. Currently working on two albums this energetic live act is continuously expand/collapseing their farm of pet-frequencies with various sonic creatures. What to expect: We are forming a tight cicrle for families planning on attending the camp, tent doors to face inward to keep an easy eye on all who are going in an out, so please check in with us when you arive, we would also appretiate anyone planning on attending with children to RSVP to Microcosm @ kmfdm72@gmail.com

Why RSVP? We are planning on having several art classes and puppet shows, as well as fresh fruit for snacks and it would help getting an idea of how many kids are going to be there, also we will be able to alot you a spot in the circle as it will be first come first serve.

Activities: Shadow puppet show during friday night and interactive UV painting, camp songs and a visit to the Chill stage, On Satruday we plan on making a special art project to help you keep track of your little ones at night then we will have a hand puppet show the kids will put on during late afternoon, a poi spinning class will also be on the list of activities for that day, evening will have another trip to the Chill stage and roasting marshmellows by the fire.

Parents are responsible for their children and will be responsible for checking in to camp during times we are tending to your little ones, there will be two hour shifts available for parents who want to roam in the evening to go and dance and spend some time alone, however please remember to check in and make sure things are going well, we can all take group shifts to ensure everyone gets those moments away. We will be providing a planner to sign up for a shift and sign up for your times out of the camp.

Things to remember to bring:
Warm clothes, plenty of food and water, a flashlight for your kids, glowsticks and string, a water bottle they can keep with them, bug spray and sun block.
And lighting for inside your tent, if you are going to be away at night it is best to give them a little light and some books and maybe a favorite stuffed animal.

We also encourage you to bring any deco you wish to display. The venue can accommodate just about anything you wish to bring. We encourage participation from everybody, no matter what you have to contribute. We will help you in any way we can and any staff member can point you into the right direction. Our Vision

This is the second of two weekend-long camping festivals The Chilluminati will be creating in 2008. Both of our weekend festivals will be in western Wisconsin, close to the heart of the psychedelic tribes of that state and those of Iowa, Minnesota, Ontario, and Illinois.

The Native Americans of western Wisconsin built huge sacred earthworks that we now know as effigy mounds. These immense earthen symbols, carved into the earth, were symbols of the Divine. Just as they built their mounds, we create these parties as Cosmic Condensates; our Music, Dance, Light, and Love form a sacred structure in Space and Time, a microcosmic celebration of the Infinite.

WE PROVIDE: 2 stages of sound and light, 3 days of camping in a beautiful natural environment (rain or shine), running water, bathrooms and hot showers, full vending (including alcohol for those 21+).

YOU PROVIDE : a tent, enough food and beverages for the weekend (or some cash - food and beverages will be available for sale), NO GLASS, NO DRUGS, NO PETS, NO FIREWOOD (firewood can be purchased on-site).

WRISTBANDS

Wristbands must be worn at all times. Broken wristbands must be returned to event organizers who will issue a replacement. People

without wristbands must pay the $50 gate fee for a new wristband. People found on the property without a wristband, who are unwilling

to pay the gate fee, will be escorted off the property through the main gate, no exceptions.

You must park in the parking area and carry your tents to your campsite. You cannot park next to your campsite.

NO GLASS

Glass bottles are completely forbidden within the park. Bringing glass bottles into the park can be grounds for removal of participants.

FIRE

Ground fires are permitted only at designated fire circles within the campground.

Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase both by venue and various vendors. Bring ID for alcohol purchases.

Food, ice and firewood will be available for purchase both by venue and various vendors (you cannot bring your own firewood to venue

due to State of Wisconsin conservation laws).

A full indoor pavilion is available at the venue, so main stage psytrance will go on, and be dry and comfortable, RAIN or SHINE.

CELLULAR

Your cellphone may or may not work on venue property. If you come with buddies you may consider buying a set of two-way radios.

Service with Sprint and Verizon are spotty. GSM coverage (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) seems to be decent, but don't count on it!

ROAR

The organizers of this event, and the owner of the venue, can remove attendees for any reason, ticket price nonrefundable.

VOLUNTEERING

If you want to volunteer, tell a Chilluminati organizer at the front gate when you arrive. Chilluminati will be wearing the Chilluminati logo.

- Please note, very important: WE CANNOT GUARANTEE you will get to be a volunteer.

- We have strong interest in volunteers with emergency medical training. Please contact us directly if you have that under your belt.

- If you cannot arrive early on Friday but still want to volunteer, just show up when you can and ask at the front gate whether there are still volunteer positions available. We will let you know.

- Volunteers can only be confirmed as volunteers at the event when you show up, not via email or phone before the event.

- There will be 2 Chilluminati staff supervisors at all times. You will be working with them providing directions and scheduling.

- Responsibilities will mostly be assistance at gate and working internal security. Internal security means mostly watching for attendees' safety and well-being, answering questions, running errands for organizers who are otherwise bogged down, and issues that might cause problems for the party.

- If you want to volunteer, come with water bottles, comfortable clothing, flashlights, comfortable shoes, hat, and rain gear so you can handle the weather that staff will be working; also so you can work at night.

- If you have a Motorola Talkabout radio please bring it!!

Our model for security is Burning Man's Black Rock Rangers. We intend to follow a unintrusive, low-key peaceful approach to event security. We need people with good diplomatic skills, basically happy people committed to having fun but alert and mature.

Capsula is Yosi Shamai, born in 1978 and living in Kfar Saba, Israel. Yosi began producting music at the age of 16 (1995) producing such styles as goa-trance, breakbeat, drum & bass, house and more. After his mind opening travels in the world and the trance culture through Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, India, and most of Europe, plus studying Chemistry and Biophysics at BGU University he decided to begin producing psychedelic chill out. His main influences come from gurus like: Terence & Dennis McKenna, Alan Watts, Carlos Castaneda, Jonathan Ott and Alexander Shulgin. Yosi often incorporates their inspiring speeches into his music. He has released tracks on many compilations and his debut album 'Synthesis of Reality' released on Ajana Records received rave reviews. In 2006, he started his Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacology, researching on drug delivery systems for cancer. At the same time he has performed live around the globe. With his second album finished and on the way, Yosi will guide you through his vast array of dubbed out psychedelia.

Mubali - M.o.E. - Berkley, CA

Mubali is a psychedelic trance dj/producer living in Berkeley, California. He has been a dj since 2000 and his styles have varied during the course of the past few years… He mainly spins Psychedelic Trance and occasionally Drum & Bass/ Jungle. In August of 2003, he began producing his own Psychedelic Trance and really enjoys writing his own music. He has many tracks and have several releases on labels like Mistress of Evil records, Trishula Records, Manic Dragon Records, Insomnia Records, Acidance Records, Geomagnetic TV, and a few upcoming compilation tracks on labels like Auraquake and Tantrumm Records.

He was a violist for 10 years in adolescence and has been a fan of all types of music, instrumental and non… He is a big fan of all types of psychedelic music, as well as funk, jazz, rock, and heavy metal…. He has found that in electronic dance music, a lot of the structure is similar to classical music. He has also been researching a lot of classical music to use as structural inspiration for his own pieces… His Debut album Cats @ Play has been released on Trishula Records in March 2006, and now he is beginning conceptual ideas for the next Mubali album as well as starting a new abstract electronica project, Xabuumuphu.

PhuturePrimitive
Live PA!

Phutureprimitive is the musical creation of DJ, Producer and Remixer Rain. Rain first began DJing in 1992 after discovering the new sound of Trance and Chillout in the underground music scene. He later played a key role in bringing the sound of Trance to the Northwest in the early years of rave…a time when house and techno were the standard.

While adding to his music collection, Rain also began to acquire the music equipment that would eventually become Phutureprimitive Sound Labs, founded in 1996. Intent on building the skills required to express himself musically, he made the decision to keep his work private… until his debut album on Waveform Records titled Sub Conscious finally escaped from the studio in 2004.

Phutureprimitive has since become a top artist in the downtempo/psy-chill/phuture-dub music scene, performing in cities and countries throughout the United States, and Europe including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, England, Scotland, Portugal, Holland, Italy and Croatia.

There are many components to the Phutureprimitive sound which can be described as diverse and eclectic. Musically ranging from atmospheric downbeat and Drum n Bass patterns, to ethnic breaks, vocals and percussions, to dub and beyond. The fusion of organic and synthetic elements: In the last 10 years, artists have come such a long way in blurring the lines of musical genres. It’s one thing to strive for originality or innovation in a particular genre. When a conscious decision is made to combine or borrow from many genres, or simply make music out side of any conventional category, a whole new world of possibilities open. Listening boundaries are diminished and cross-culturalism begins, creating something new and unheard of.

Telepathik is the new Psytrance project of DJ / Producer Rain, the same mind behind international act Phutureprimitive.

Rain first began DJing in ‘92 after discovering the new sound of Trance and Chillout music in the underground music scene. He later played a key role in bringing the sound of Trance and Goa to the Northwest (USA) in the early years of rave…………a time when house and techno were the standard.

For a Psytrance project Telepathik is diverse in it’s sound, sometimes leaning towards a more progressive groove, sometimes melodic, while other times diving straight into a Full On driving frenzy. Never staying in any one place for very long, this music is always shifting and changing into new sounds and themes. This is dance music that takes both your mind and body on a journey.

Telepathik is destined to follow in the footsteps of Phutureprimitive who has already become a top artist in it’s genre, performing in cities and countries throughout the United States, and Europe including New York, Los Angeles, England, Scotland, Portugal, Italy and Croatia. In the past two years Telepathik has shared the state with many other Psytrance acts including: Hallucinogen, Infected Mushroom, Deedrah, Antix, Tron, Noosphere, Dick Treavor, Pixel, Ecliptic, Liquid Ross, and many others. Having already gaining attention from international labels and festivals, Telepathik is set to release his debut album on Liquid Records in the near phuture.

Psymbolic - Live Interactive Visual Environments

This catalytic duo (Julee & Troy) create Live Interactive Visual Environments. Since 1999, they have become large-A/V eventcurators and they continue to push their means of expression through their video compositions and the realtime surrounding spectacles. Always providing a customized thematic projection/performance of synchronous moments of meaning and inspiration.

Doctor Spook - (DJ and VJ sets!) - Geomagnetic.TV - San Francisco

Dr. Spook (aka Nathan Vogel) is an internationally renowned San Francisco VJ/DJ/live AV act. Geospirit1: virtual vortex is his newest solo DVD film project. He began creating electronic music & 3D visuals in the early 90’s. He started DJing in 98 at burning man. A pillar in the SF psytrance scene, known for creating amazing parties with the Phoenix Family. Nate is also a producer & director at Minds Eye Media in SF since 95.

Syntax - Phoenix, Arizona

Syntax (Eric Galindo) is a video alchemist and metaphysical visionary artist. A well known VJ in the Southwest who is on the verge of becoming internationally acknowledged. Since his early childhood, Eric was fascinated in the arts. He would draw complex patterns and spirals to make his friends dizzy by staring at them. As part of the Nintendo generation, computers and technology have been a huge part of his life. Soon after graduating high school, Eric went on to get his BA in multimedia where he learned how to make his imagination a reality through visual effects and 3D animation. In a time where technology is evolving spirituality, Eric strives to convey certain metaphysical concepts and interpretations through his visuals. As a multimedia artist, he provides a key element to the Southwest Electronic Music scene by mixing and projecting live 100% home-grown beat driven visuals at various raves, clubs, and underground events. His latest project is a 60 minute audiovisual journey on DVD title “A Compilation of Complications”. Eric is also producing Phoenix’s first Visual Arts Showcase called “Illumination” dated for July 20th 2006.

Dan Efex - Dan Efex.Com - Chicago

dan efex is well known for his ability to draw a frenzied excitement out of even the mellowest of crowds. It is not uncommon to see fans packed shoulder to shoulder, hands in the air, as he leads them through an energetic and intoxicating journey on the dance floor. There are many who consider him to be one of the founders of the Midwest’s trance scene, a scene that is still strong and growing today. He was one of the first to introduce the Midwest to the soaring build-ups and powerful explosions characteristic of some of his styles of trance. But although Dan is perhaps best known for his trance, do not be fooled — he is as diverse as he is skilled! His repertoire of past events includes sets with progressive trance, psychedelic trance, hard techno, hard core, hard house, slow breaks, tribal and ambient. He mixes it up and keeps it interesting. His unfailing ability to read the crowd and know precisely what to plug in ensures that he leaves no stragglers behind on his musical excursions.

A Little History

Dan has been a performer in the electronic dance music scene for more than ten years. Dan made his first public appearance DJing at the one-year anniversary event for one of the best-known promoters in Milwaukee, The Drop Bass Network, in 1993. Even today, people still speak of that explosive performance that put Dan Efex on the map.

From that first public appearance, Dan gained instant recognition and quickly amassed an enormous following. His appearances in nightclubs from coast to coast skyrocketed. Starting in the early days, he appeared at the legendary Tunnel (New York), Rise (Baltimore) and Time (Los Angeles). He has since traveled to more than 50 cities throughout the United States and Canada headlining numerous events with some of the world’s best known DJs including: Richie Hawtin, Sandra Collins, Dave Clarke, Pablo Gargano, Chris Liberator, Nigel Richards, Juan Atkins, Derrick Carter, Joey Beltram and Delta-9 — to name a few.

Even with an extensive travel schedule, Dan does not neglect his hometown. Dan has a lengthy roster of lounges, events and benefits at which he has headlined. In addition, Dan is a weekly resident at Crobar Chicago and makes frequent appearances at Spundae events, recently playing alongside artists such as Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren and BT.

A turning point in Dan’s DJ career came when he met Scott Gianquita and Jason Bloom of Deepsky in 1996. He began his production career working with Scott and quickly signed several tracks to Time Unlimited records out of Germany. Dan has been steadily climbing into the hearts and souls of trance-lovers everywhere. He recently contracted with Nepol Records for some of his newest tracks and completed remixes of well-known tracks such as Sasha’s Wavy Gravy.

With all the activity surrounding Dan, the media quickly picked-up on his mass appeal. Dan has made guest appearances on Energy 92.7 Clubland Underground and Q101’s Sonic Boom, Chicago’s biggest electronic dance music stations.

Dan’s most recent project started in Fall of 2001 when he was contracted to write the theme song for the new Chicago television show Afterhours Television (ATV), a show dedicated to electronic dance music. The show has featured Dan’s performances several times. Due to overwhelming popularity, Dan is now a sound engineer for the show and a resident DJ at all ATV events. The show airs on Friday nights at 11:00 p.m. on WJYS channel 62 in Chicago.

Nick Synergy - Overmind Works - Phoenix

Nick Synergy hails from the southern Midwest. After some experience as a mainstream DJ, he caught the techno bug in 1992, ironically from the radio. The newfound rave culture also fascinated him, and thus he became increasingly absorbed by DJing and electronic music. He began beatmatching in 1995 and has been immersed in many facets of underground dance culture ever since.

He’s a bit of an idealist, but something of a realist. He has a benevolent nature and brings a solid work ethic to creating and promoting events. Gravitating toward the funky, groovy, and progressive sides of electronic music, the dynamic vibe this man carries is best demonstrated by the music he plays.

Professor X - Trance Psyndicate - Phoenix

He started djing electronic music in 1998 when he was going to one of the top audio schools in the country. He was first influenced by progressive house and breakbeats. After homing his engineering skills, he began playing shows at clubs in downtown Orlando, Florida and engineering live sound for concerts at Universal Studios. After his popularity grew he got booked at bigger venues, such as the Hard Rock Live and The Groove. His driving electronic beats were sucking people on to dancefloors and giving them an experience they would never forget. His captivating presence kept fans wanting more and more. They were feeding off his intense vibe that he created every time he played. Sooner or later hurricanes drove him out of Florida and he headed back to the Midwest. After meeting DJ Zero Six in his hometown in Illinois, he discovered psytrance and became a core element of the Trancepsyndicate. He has played at parties such as the Cosmic Outset, Earthdance, and the Apsylum for the Unsane. He is now playing outdoor festivals for Overmindworks in Phoenix, AZ. His full-on energetic sound has infected many people’s consciousness in ways they never thought possible.

Hahn the Barbarian - Overmind Works - Phoenix

Hahn’s mind began making sense of electronic music in 1992 with the acquisition of a home computer and the installation of Mechwarrior 2. In his early years, he developed an affinity for pop music and, through his interest in GI-Joe toys, he developed an acute case of Collector’s Syndrome. This was a perfect foundation for the music enthusiast and collector that the psytrance scene knows today as Hahn the Barbarian. A sucker for nearly all types of electronic music (especially all hybrids of psytrance), he is primarily dedicated to high-tech sounds that reveal a prescient glimpse of the future. While many of his sets are comprised mostly of the sounds in his playlist at the respective time, some of his favorite journeys have taken Hahn and his listeners through the realms of Dark Psy-tech, Organic Pro-tech, Aggro Full-on and Hyper-Neo.

Through a string of events and circumstances several years ago, Hahn met Dr. Bones and assisted him in laying the foundation for what is now Overmind Works. Consistent practice and experimentation behind the mixer led to Hahn’s realization of the label now worn by all music manipulators in the Overmind Works crew: “Audio Navigator” (”AuNav” for short).

Scotty Rotten - Trance Psyndicate - Miami

Scotty has been behind the scene since the late 90’s. Starting as a trance DJ in Chicago, he has played at several of the largest night clubs in the windy city. In 2003 he moved his residence to Florida, but has maintained close ties with the original Trance Psyndicate founding members and has played an integral role in our existence. After a strong comeback at Earthdance last year, he is poised to serve a reminder to those who might have forgotten him from days past.

Primordial Ooze - Geomagnetic.TV - Chicago

The Primordial Ooze project was created by DJ’s Kaiser Soze and S.O.T. as an experiment in genetic sound programming and nano-acoustic engineering. Self-replicating and mutating algorithms, swarms of frequencies that collaborate, breed and communicate, flourish in an environment of artificial selection and continual evolution. Currently working on two albums this energetic live act is continuously expanding their farm of pet-frequencies with various sonic creatures. These lively pets can cause serious mayhem on the dancefloor! But with properly tied shoes, participants are generally safe and happy.

Art Of Ill Fusion - Peoria

Formed in the Spring of ‘04 Art of Ill Fusion has quickly gained national touring experience and spread themselves through the festival circuit. The music can be described as Funk, Jazz, n Reggae, all mixed with Progressive rock jams and crisp lyrical content. Art of Ill Fusion has headlined Winterfest, FusionFest, The Demoine music fest called The Briar Patch. Art of Ill Fusion also had their own two night stand for the 4th and 5th of July in Baltimore, MD all in the last year and continually look to branch out to more and more venues. The highlight of the summer was heading up with members from Umphrey’s McGee, moe., Groovatron, Hot Buttered Rum, Rays Music Exchange, The Station and several others for the Superjam at Summercamp.

With several more shows under their belt, the focus has been on rehearsing their live show. They have acquired some of the highest touted musicians to ever play in the Peoria area. With the abrupt exit by James(Bass), they grabbed up Mike Lee of Freudian Press, Bonanza Jellybean/Rochness Monster fame. He has quickly become the rock foundation that the fusion Machine rides on. Brian Railey from Squib Potential on Percussion and vocals has joined in the groove recently. Also they first had Rusty Hall, who has played with too many people to name,on keys and now Kim Thomas one of Rusty’s musical offspring taking his place while he tours abroad with Benard Allison. The addition of these musicians, truly has made AIF an All-star line up and represents a complete time line of the Peoria music scene.

The drumming was awesome! It would be
cool if someone integrated that sound into their sets. Some Goa
with live drums... aaaa! :)

Alll the DJs were great...
although the lineup lacked the progression of sound. The chill
opener was awesome but it was all full-on/proggy after that save a
few tracks by Scott & Igor. Hard to keep energy levels going
when the music gets more agressive towards the end. Should be the
other way round no?

My first time at Dulcenea too. Very
nice place! Nice meeting everyone again... cant wait to stomp it
out outdoors...soooon.

supposed to be kept on the lighter side things for the eve. We
were asked of that specifically
It was envisiond the KT and I
would be the hardest of the night, which i have to say is how it
worked out. Her a bit harder, myself a bit more epic. I wouldnt
say there was any progressive in the mix at all, except for the
last tracks from Sot n Kaiser as things were being broken down
For
the djs in the lineup and the proposed blueprint id say it worked
as it should, maybe have switched the closing duo with Derby,so
they could have played a bit more of their typical style but in
the end I thouhgt Derby did a wonderful job of bringing things in
and getting the floor going at midnight

all that topic
aside it was a nice New years eve. Perhaps a bit on the mellow
side of things but nothing wrong with that if everyone is having a
good time and enjoying themselves. The deco was really nicely
done, and ive got to say that Dulcena seems like a good fit for
the community. The snacks half way thru the night were also a nice
touch.....
Lastly congrats to the new couple, It was a honor to
allow you to make your announcement during my set

THIS place + THIS soundsystem + live tabla&didgeridoo + Meta + Dave Henshaw + friends = the best.

On the other hand Chicago and 44 degree difference in temperature sucks big time.

It was nice to meet you Nate - I have to give you a credit for sitting in front of the speakers this morning ;D

What a party....right in the face bam and you realize WTF!!!!

Meta was superb. His ending tracks were just simply unbelievable. One of the best set I have heard at that time and on top of that perfect mixing. It was fun to listen to Facehead. Very different from any dark sets I have heard in sometime. Will be fun to seem him next week in Iowa (too bad I wont be there). Primordial Ooze as usual oozing some super music. Then the morning sets of Professor X, Derby, KT were all good and I thoroghly enjoyed taking off my shirt and shoes and dance on the grass. What a way to bring in the summer :)

Ooooh ya...Gemini is next!

Agreed one of best parties ever, but I add what I told Damon there - for me to make this the most favoritest party FIVE STARS it would have to have a dedicated chill space. Without dedicated chill I must therefore give this 4 stars. Otherwise the mix of people, weather, flawless sets and total beauty would bring this close to a 5 star party.

Sorry Damon about my obsession with you and the Chillumafia T-shirt leading to the stalking incident at the gas station. Please Damon have the judge remove the restraining order. Deco was AWESOME. We loved the stage.

Too bad none of ya joined us at the white trash bar afterwards. We all ate and got super drunk for $30 :D

KT and the Ooze get my votes for favorites of the night.

Video was best ever, too. You guys should work together more often.

I agree with Scott...definately had a more unified feeling.

Great party, as usual. All the sets were great, but Facehead's and KT's were probably my favorites. Anyone know what her opening track was? It had jazzy piano in it. I was surely quite impressed by Meta's set also, but I think it was a little too early for it or something. Either that, or I was just too blown away to actually dance for any long period of time. I just had to stand and listen.

Thanks to Tyler, Jeff, and Deb for all the great organization, and for the deco people. It looked like a little alien world amongst the vast natural landscape.

I was thinking of giving shout outs to a bunch of people that I had fun talking to, but there were far too many and I love you all. For some of you, I'll see you next weekend in Iowa. For everyone else, see you at Earthdance!

Great job everything!!

This is actually my favorite format for a party (almost) start out with ambient soundscapes, move to slow breaks, pump in some progressive into fullon then dark twilight..would have loved more slow bpm morning to blend down into the chill for my perfect night.

With a party this size I think it's great to have one stage. Everyone had fabulous sets! I especially enjoyed Meta's, I liked Facehead's very much also , took a bit of a power nap to it and had some nice dreams :D

Had a very very sweet expeirence...........loved the stage deco and the chill startup on those wonderful speakers.

It was great to see all u guys in shorts, no footwear...etc. Loved the sunset and rise. Everyones set was very good.

Venue just rocks.........and the best thing........not even a single flea or bug...... 8)

Thnx to all the organizers who work with so much spirit. The VJ's did a great job...........mind blowing visuals. Almost flash backed to SEOA............ :P Thnx Varun Shai n Mat for bringing Psytan back. Thnx Damon for the shirt. Safi boy will make sure he does his work from now on.........good quality only....... :D

Cant wait to do this again in Sep.

This was one of those mainly-stomp parties and I am 100% for that but I know that some people other than me were unhappy that it was mostly stomp and that there was no chill alternative. I know that 1 stage is going to happen from time to time but I think one of the things people have said about Chilluminati is we put alot into respecting the chill space.

I'm not criticizing the party but my 100% endorsement will always be for parties with a dedicated (if only very small) chill space. Like Gaian Mind. Tho I am aware that 2 spaces make for more work and additional cost.

It is cool to do one stage occasionally if only because it was so much easier and as already said, it did create nice unity of the party.

Definitely helps to unify by having one stage. It IS better to have two stages, especially as a late night alternative to the hard/dark, but I can see how the low numbers (less than 200?) don't really warrant a 2nd stage. The progression of music was excellent, tho. It was only a one-nighter, so letting music play into the afternoon was a nice touch. Maybe it would be cool to try a complete 24 hour cycle next time...
Like any good experience, I like to come away from a party learning something new. From now on, I approach every new mixer as if the crossfader is turned off!

one stage was teh best...although everyone knows my opinion about downtempo lol. although...i do have to say some of the stuff damon was playing was quite good. i also loved the fact that the fullon was edgy and just so damn good from sunup till midafternoon! it made me want to keep dancing although i couldnt!

meta - whoa shit son, the freshest cuts out from the west. i was blown away. such a good way to get the night started when he came on

rob (mr roboto) - i couldnt get over how seamless your set seemed and how good it was. you've really come a long way

KT - i was so impressed by her set. it was way edgier than when she played in iowa and i know its not really her cup of tea per say, but i was impressed with the skill and track selection and overall it just fit soooooo right into the morning.

I'm sooooooooooooooooo glad to hear that people enjoyed the deco. I was sort of afraid that ppl would think it looked cheap, the stuff that Carli and I brought to hang was pretty much just wire, string, and a few tapestries :) We were only asked to help out with deco a few days prior to the event and it was already an extremely busy week for us. A lot of the stuff that we hung was originally created for the chill room at Resonate 2.0, another event that we were asked to work just a few days in advance. I would have liked to create some original artwork created specifically for this event... oh well... maybe next time... :)

For those of you who don't know me... my name is Derek, my partner is Carli. We've been a part of the Rendezvous crew (http://www.myspace.com/rendezvouscrew) for a few months now. It was definitely intimidating for me to participate in an event like this one with such incredible artists involved. The deco that I've seen Psymbolic do is just so amazing I felt dwarfed, hehe. How can one expect to be on the same level as those who have decorated for Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, Bluetech.... the list goes on. I guess you're always more critical of your own work than other people are. We did the best we could with what we had to work with.

Much thanks to everyone who helped with setting up and providing the deco on the main stage. Jeff for providing the lights, Paul and co, the two redheads from central IL who I can't remember your names, and anyone else that I missed. I never ended up meeting this Allison who was supposed to be coordinating the deco effort, perhaps we'll cross paths sometime in the future. Heard she had to work... such a shame. I took plenty of photos of us setting up and after dark, I'll be posting the best ones on my myspace and tribe pages tonight or tomorrow for everyone to enjoy.

As for the event itself...
The venue was great. Personally, I thought that Meta was fucking amazing. He spins the exact same style of psy that I do... I'd never really heard a set like that. It gave me so many ideas that I went home and spent 4 or 5 hours on my decks even though I had zero sleep on Saturday night. I've never been keen on the darker stuff but I thought that Facehead was incredible as well. My brain was pulverized into jelly, lol. The sound was also amazing... I came to a realization that I truly didn't understand how my own tracks would sound when played out on a big system... psy just has so many layers, so many timbres. At least now I've got some concept of how the different sounds will play out. The live video was unbelievable as well, I really appreciate living in a city wish such a vibrant motion graphic scene.

All in all Secret Fire III was an amazing experience for me. I met many great people... and I'm sure there were 4 times as many amazing people that I didn't get the chance to meet. I can't wait to participate in future events. See you all around!!

I heard KT was playing harder than she planned because those who were dancing stopped when she started played lighter music. Much to the joy of some and the chagrin of others.. You can't make everyone happy...

Having "Renegade" sound systems are not an option. We will always come back to the spreading the crowd too thin problem with having too many stages. Plus having a happy hardcore tent suddenly appear out of nowhere is not something we want. Well maybe Jeff Z wouldn't mind.. :P

What is maybe an option is another crew setting up a chill space if one is not planned, once they get approval. Maybe limitations will be set with say a post 3 or 4 am start at smaller events to help maintain the mainfloor vibe. This will give people the choice towards the end of party to relax and sleep or still rock out.

Many options.. not enough parties to try ideas out at...

The problem with a forum like this is you're only hearing from the really passionate people. People who are marginal or who have given up on the harder music aren't bothering to read or respond.

I think if you know you're only going to get 100 people or so, you should do either a straight Goa event with progression, or a chill event because it's true, 2 stages are too much for that number of people.

OTOH the 300-600 parties - the rural weekenders and the chicago warehouse parties - those you can have separate spaces without sacrificing the feel of the event.

So the 1 stage people and the 2 stage people are both right - for their size event.

The fans have a role too - if events get larger we can do more within budget, and we will have more people to make it happen. Numbers attending dictate much of what can happen.

Chill is more than a style of music - it's also a separate space with a different vibe and deco, and an altar, and an attitude.

Again though I thought Secret Fire 3 was great but now we have enough experience with events we can start seeing that not all of them should evolve the same way.

We had an amazing time... Meta blew my head apart and Facehead played some of the best and most interesting dark psy I've heard, twisted goblin music instead of the usual noisy skreechy stuff. I have yet to hear some real, old goa played live but I would give my left nut for it. Fixer, you took a peek at my art in the trunk of my car, I'm starting on some UV deco tomorrow... see you all soon...

I loved pretty much all of her set, and tried to dance at different points. It was beyond the music's capabilities though. I was just too f'in tired. So unfortunate...if I would have had the energy, the music she played could have most certainly been soooooo fun to dance to.

Yeah, this is quite true. I know all the psyowans and some others would say I'm not hardcore enough to keep dancing until 10 or longer in the morning, but by the time 7 hit, I was definately wanting chill...badly. I love it just as much as trance at the right times, and at this party it seems to have came both too early and too late. :-\ ...Though I may have once again overdid it a little bit. Funny, I keep telling myself, if I just get a little sleep before the morning, everything would work out perfectly. But everyone's sets are always so damn good and I don't want to miss out on anything. A double-edged sword, me thinks. ;)

this party brought back Sacred Earth for me, as someone just stated! It was such a great feeling to dance on such solid ground, under such a clear and beautiful sky, with all the mind blowing deco and INSANE sound system that the Chilluminati provided at this one. what a GREAT EVENT! i felt so connected to everyone and especially the music :) i just posted pictures on facebook, let me know if this link works (it said public link), because if it doesnt i will upload them elsewhere in addition. wish i coulda taken more, but i was too busy stompin and rompin at the event. got to sit down and smoke, chat, chill, with many Psy friends from all over the midwest. what a great reunion and i hope there are more of these SOON!!!! Something that was nice about having powerful speakers was how far away you could be and still hear it loud and clear. It was great listening to the music by the fire and just watching the videos play out over and through the flames. The waves of heat distortion did beautiful things to the stage, as you sat directly across the fire from the stage.

It depends on the venue as well.

If we're talking about a big outdoor camping venue then less is probably more.
Many of the outdoor events that I've been to have felt "deserted" even with hundreds of people there. There was this one party, "Campout," last fall that I'd estimate 300-500 people were at... but it felt empty. Why? Because they had 4 stages.

I don't know how many of you made to any of the mindoutpsyde parties at Emerald City in Cedar Rapids. I think there were only about 150 ppl at Blacklight Forest and they had a psy room and a chill room. Since it was such a small space it didn't feel too empty.

I'll keep my ideas flowing :)

Right on. That's exactly what I want. A really comfortable quieter place where you can talk and listen to chill music, no effort put into it necessarily. That would work at NCN. LOTS of people want that, especially with a longer event.

I will go with Fixer this time. With the amount of crowd we had, one stage was more then enough. With 50-60 more people, we would have required a chill stage.

But I do have one gripe. Why did Meta start? Isnt he like more twilight early morning player? The music he played would have been perfect in the morning after primordial ooze.....but then you cannot make everybody happy.

Wow ;D ;D ;D, can be a word that is overly used in my rendition of just how much of a good time I indeed had. I certainly did not expect to have as good as time as I did. I don't know why, I guess its just that stuff has been so busy as of late I haven't been taking the time to enjoy the finer things. But @ SF3 it seems that the finer things are all that I had the pleasure of enjoying. :)

First of all on the way there, Katy and I are crusin, "taking in the beautiful greenery of the area", when all of a sudden Katy slams on the brakes without saying a word. "What is going on?" I exclaimed with a puzzled look on my face. Without a word she gets out and I figure she just saw a pile of cash on the rroad or something. Nope, it was a turtle, just chillin in the middle of the road. :o So she goes, picks it up and it starts whizzing everywhere. Off to the side of the road it went and off we went to have the time of our lives. With our Karma banks filled thanks to my lil humanitarian. 8)

After the beautiful positive karma filled ride up we arrived at like 4 and set everything up by six. I was astonished at how beautiful the deco looked and was even more pleased to see those two coloums of distruction ready to reap their sonic salvation upon all of us. I can't believe how fucking cool it is to be more than a football field away from the speakers AND STILL GET STEREO SOUND!!!!! By far the BEST of the BEST when it comes to speaker systems. I talked to the sound guy and he said that if we put those on scaffolding next time we almost double the range of the stereo, imagine that!!! ???

The string art was so cool. I absolutly am in love with string art, I think that it is so awsome. And the placement of the art was dead on, it made for some Killargh pics. I was blown away at how the nighttime stage looked, pure bliss. ;D ;D ;D

I must say that the style that the music progressed throughout the night was amazing. It really felt like a 3 day packed into one magic night and afternoon. I personally loved META playing the slot he played. I felt that there was a great progression of sound from him. And definetly some of the freshest sounding stuff out there, awsome bass and killer percussion. I really loved the set. Next was Facehead who had some mystery behind him, because I couldn't find him and chat with him before he played. But OH MAN DID THIS GUY ROCK. The shit was just up my alley. Stompers Delight type shit. I think China sent a noise complaint for me stompin too hard. I love the stuff with dense basslines and percussion that sticks out as if it is played louder, nutty music for an even nuttyer experience. It was so much fun to dance to that stuff, I always want to go and dance when I play my stuff and his music put me in the same psychosis I fall into when playing my shit. WOO HOO. :P

The OOZE are killin it harder and harder with every time that I see em. I mean their music is unbelieveble. I loved every single track that you guys played. I heard nothing but amazing things from you guys and I expect nothing less every time I see you. Theres nothing like REALLY grinding it out throughtout the night and getting rescued from the darkness by morning blasters. I loved all the morning stuff that was played by Brad and Rob. Ya'll really play some sick tracks. It carried me into the morning like I was floating on psychedellic clouds. KT I don't know what the hell people are talkin about, IT WAS NOT TO HARD! I loved it. I think that looking arouind and observing what the crowd needs is KEY. And that was done right. Just after I thought all I had in me was to drink beer and marinate my ears were AWAKENED once again. Slammin set start to finish. Way to keep shit slammin and keep people dancing. Rock on sistah. See you in CALI!!! 8) 8) 8)

I think after that I was pretty mush done for. Sunburnt, a little drunk, and a lota something else (that SF3 vibe), I headed home. Overall I would have to say that this was one of the best chillum parties by far, the vibe and people were incredible. I brought 2 friends (Dakota and Greg) out to their FIRST all psy party and lets just say that you all will be seeing a LOT more of em and like wise. We need to keep this vibe in the air and soon everyone will be smiling as hard as we all are. I would like to thank everyone for the good conversation and kind words, you rock. :)

Jeff, I was very happy that you found Gregs artwork interesting. As he mentioned he started a UV piece and if his drawing is even a fragment of what he can do I think we may have just opened up pandoras box of UV deco. This is going to be awsome. Greg is bringing down a lot more of his artwork this Psunday for the Summah Sizzle. We are going to create a psychedellic art mini-expo as a part of the deco in the indoor chill area. I am so excited. ;D

What an experience!! Perfect kickoff for a very exiting summer! ;D

Big thanks to the Chilluminati for this event. Thanks to Trancepsyndicate for the dicovery of the venue and that sound! Oh the Sound! 100,000 watts of pure sonic nectar. Havnt heard an outdoor system with such range clarity. Gutwrenchingly loud but you could still have a chat with someone on the floor and hear every word! Thanks to the deco team... The sun tapestry on the left was wonderful! Stringart above the DJ was the perfect touch. Syddartha's artwork had me frozen in awe!

Was wonderful partying with the midwest family again... Cant wait for the next one!

Will be heading to Iowa with Damon for the weekend ;D See y'all there!

all i can say is wow! what an amazing place, chill people and great music. (i still wonder what kept me from checking these out earlier--old jaded friends perhaps?) totally worth the long drive to and from, love love love.

i still can't believe i danced about 90% of the time i was there. next time i will make sure i don't have to work that day so i can get there early :)
and wow on early morning sunrises over ponds with such beautiful music and bullfrogs singing along.

Been going to raves for like 7 years... I've been in love with psytrance ever since I heard "Dancing Galaxy" by Astral Projection for the first time. I dunno why more ravers don't listen to psy... or why psy people seem to avoid raves. Theoretically it's all the same, the psy community just has nicer, more contientious people :)

I'm in hardkorenate's camp on this one... once they hear it they won't be able to get enough of it :)
Rendezvous booked psy DJ 3.14 (Grandaddy DJ) at Stellar Spark in Wisconsin for New Years Eve and all the ravers were digging it.

It's a bitch trying to get people to listen to it... most midwesterners don't listen to electronic music at all. I wish I understood why. I guess it was the same way with rap/hip-hop in years past, now it's mainstream. Maybe people will come around, then again, maybe we should all just move to Europe.

There was some.. Interstellar Dreamfest had a bunch of Phantasm records guys.. Dan Efex, DJ Feather, others played some.. and at the time it was only Goa. Not what is considered "psy" now. That was also a different generation..

Doormouse played some.. he gave me his copy of Twisted on color vinyl..

I can't say anything that happened before 2001 ;). I was sooo surprised after I moved to Chicago that there was no strong psytrance/acid techno/nrg scene (I guess I missed it hehe). Different generation/ Probably. Nowadays underage kids can't get into clubs where OCCASIONALLY psytrance is being played nor raves that goverment keeps cracking down. So they have no chance to listen to other music than MTV and commercial radio. Just thinking out loud ....

We have had a psy dj at our raves for years. I am pretty comfortable in saying that 99% of the Iowans were once or still are ravers. I am everything :D

Are you saying they hated it? Hate to break it to ya, but psy IS rave music. *cough*acid trance*cough* The key here is that were going to have a chance to expose about 70% of the people that are really into electronic music to the best we have to offer. If 10% of them dig it, that doubles our attendance and makes our family bigger.

I was thinking Chicago will be like any other BIG city in Europe (London, Amsterdam, Berlin etc.) or NYC: all different genres will be present in local clubs. We were lucky cause we like good music so we enjoyed hard techno/d'n'b/house/world music djs/artists that were coming to Chicago.

I really liked Secret Fire III, it's been awhile since I went to a Chilluminati event, my last one was dreamfields. It was a nice atmosphere, however I wish there was a chill stage. I like dancing to that better, I can stay on the beat better. I thought all the DJs sounded good, though, the best psytrance i've ever heard. :)

Little late on this one, huh?

First of all, thank you Derby for helping me get set up in the morning for my set. The turntable case/sun visor was awsome! ;) I'd had some issuse if it wasn't for your help. Laptop screen + screaming sunlight = >:(

Everyone's set was amazing! Meta was badass, Facehead rocked 2 weeks in a row for me, Kt's morning set was amazing and hard to follow, Varun's chill was just what the doctor ordered, the deco was amazing including Sunra's welcomed live art. (I got a sneak peak at her work when Trance Psyndicate was in AZ) The stage was.....well, you know, freakin amazing.

I must also thank everyone for respecting the venue, as we are all fortunate to have it. The venue was not easy to get, nor easy to keep. There is alot of upkeep that must go into it. There is also alot of people who would like to get there hands on it. It has been all of YOU that gave the landowners the faith in who and what we are.

Remember a little party called Earthdance? That was our proving grounds last year and YOU all made them believers. Secret Fire was only a confirmation of that same belief. Thank you and we'll be seeing you all again there this fall. ! 8)

Thanks everyone! What a great weekend... well worth the hectic travel back and forth from California.

Beautiful location, great vibe and friendly faces, and, of course, the best sound system I've ever heard in my entire life. That will ruin me for many future parties.

Surpassed all my expectations, a great introduction for me to the midwest scene. I look forward to returning... great to get such an enthusiastic response from so many people, thanks for all the kind words, I can assure you I enjoyed playing there at least as much as you enjoyed hearing it, perhaps even more... hope to see you all again soon!

Wooooowwwwowo.........what a fantastic party to start the outdoor seaon. Another blaster by Chilluminati....

Had a very very sweet expeirence...........loved the stage deco and the chill startup on those wonderful speakers.

It was great to see all u guys in shorts, no footwear...etc. Loved the sunset and rise. Everyones set was very good.

Venue just rocks.........and the best thing........not even a single flea or bug......

Thnx to all the organizers who work with so much spirit. The VJ's did a great job...........mind blowing visuals. Almost flash backed to SEOA............ Thnx Varun Shai n Mat for bringing Psytan back. Thnx Damon for the shirt. Safi boy will make sure he does his work from now on.........good quality only.......

Cant wait to do this again in Sep.

What an experience!! Perfect kickoff for summer and a big notch on the belt for the Chilluminati.

The party started off on the perfect note with chillout at sunset... Damon and Robyo on the decks with Matt(Radiohiro) on the tabla and some live didgeridoo jams thrown in by Rob again... the perfect sunset chillout set that we've been dying to see ever since the beginning. The start coulnt have been more perfect!

There was some progressive played after ... took that time to chill and prepare for the night. Sometime towards midnight the music stopped and everyone shifted attention to the bonfire and the burning dragon. Wonderful energy at the time: silent and powerful. In the middle of it all Meta throws on his first track and throws everyone off their feet!

It was an incredible live set ... hi tech, squaky clean and polished production, full power, and very diverse. Everyone there was on the floor by this time and stomping their hearts out... and the night turned to day!

Facehead was next with his Live set. Started off with grounded basslines and lots of effects... very powerful music that got more complex as the set progressed. Was so happy to hear the melodies thrown into the sound... added the Goa touch to the very psychedelic and twisted psy. Lots of sounds that worked wonders outdoors!

Primordial Ooze was next with their blend of deep psychedelia. Bassheavy gritty crunchy sounds that sent pulses through the floor. Fast paced music for night freaks! They played it right and kept upping the BPM... towards the end of the set it was hitting the ~160s and the floor was screaming for more!!!

And the night turned to day! The sunrise was brought in by Professor-X and Derby. Happy faces all around celebrating the sunrise and out first outdoor morning of the year! Both sets were great... Ze Professor started off with some twilight sounds progressed to full on and Derby took it from there with his blend of morning music. Happy to hear you guys play the Divine Balance Releases Looks like ppl really like Delysid!

KT and Mr. Roboto were next. KT played a lot of lead heavy non fluffy fullon. twisted! Roboto threw in an hour of classic full-on ... including the Melovsky's rendition of Purple Haze. Lit a big one!

Considering that there was only one stage and no chill for a while the Sonic Sadhana Sound Healing set was like a whoosh of calm...especially for us. We didnt use the brainwave frequencies to their fullest extent considering the power of the sound but there was some of it underlying the audible layers of the set.

The crowds filteres home towards the end of the chill set bringing a close to one of the best parties the midwest has ever seen!

Big thanks to the Chilluminati for this event. Thanks to Trancepsyndicate for the dicovery of the venue and that sound! Oh the Sound! 100,000 watts of pure sonic nectar. Havnt heard an outdoor system with such range clarity. Gutwrenchingly loud but you could still have a chat with someone on the floor and hear every word! Thanks to the deco team... The sun tapestry on the left was wonderful! Stringart above the DJ was the perfect touch.

Was wonderful partying with the midwest family again... Cant wait for the next one!

Probably KT. She played some pretty hi-energy morning sounds.

The sound system . Cant fathom what 100K watts would sound like at full power. It was like a giant beast growling at 20%. We should convince/hijack them to get it howling the next time they use it

Yeah the Ministry remix has been my secret stash for quite a while... most everyone in California has heard it at this point so it was nice to play that for a new crowd...

I think it was Azax vs Toxic one. This is one of my all time fav tracks. Super HUG to K.t for playing that track. This track is good fro anytime in my opinion. Dark, twilight, morning ... whenever you play it, its a dancefloor breaker. Everything is fair in love and marijuana!!!

I'm curious to see if it will work at 8AM on Sunday morning at Gemini... I would feel weird about it for most morning sets except that last year at dawn was ELECTRYPNOSE live, so the Ministry remix probably isn't too hard...

Indian music has long been associated with time of day and season. You'll find certain ragas very specific to time and date. The melodies and sounds are associated with the sounds and vibes of nature at distinct times. Now, the Carnatic (S.Indian) tradition has abandoned this philosophy and now play ragas whenever they feel like it. Hindustani (N.Indian) still draws from the traditional belief of appropriate time and date. It has to do with how the music affects our own natural rhythms and energy as well as the planet's.
I'd like to think electronic music can follow similar guidelines as we travel though the days and nights of psy events. Obviously, it's really up to the DJ's discretion, but you can't argue that certain sounds and moods are more appropriate for certain times of day. Yes, full-on can be appreciated at any time, but when is it most powerful and harmonious with natural rhythms?
I'm glad to see more DJs being conscious of sound and time and trying to flow with the vibe of the day.

The Chilluminati are in our third year of Illinois outdoor psytrance under the Secret Fire banner. The Fire dances in the psychedelic sonic landscapes we create.

Our music is dusk to dawn and beyond, both Trance and Chill/Psyambient, and takes place on one stage. Trance is Dance. Chill is melodic and softer, and creates a relaxing and peaceful mood. Chill . . . is . . . Psyambient, Downtempo, IDM, Ambient, Techno, Dub, Breaks, World, and Future Sound. The tempo we will play will change by Time of Day . . . following an Arc of Intention toward a crescendo of psychedelic madness, then back down to the morning light.

Our projection art is visual semiotics; a re-interpretation of experienced symbols and color, cast through the artist's vision and refracted as a calligraphy of light. Our deco creates the space and the corridors for the participants' own life ritual, our life as we pass through the flames of rebirth.

We are an Intentional Community, meaning that everyone is an Artist and Active Participant, not spectators. Our events are clean and based on Respect and creating a more beautiful life for each participant.

META is the psychedelic trance project of Aeon La France, trance mastermind since 1999. Host of psytrance radio show "Highway 604", he has hosted many parties at Santa Cruz's legendary Trance Mansion and has much gratitude and love toward all the Bay Area DJ's who have helped shape his style.

His music ranges from melodic morning tracks to hard-edged night-time stompers - he has released several singles on GeoMagnetic Records compilations, a collaboration track on Mubali's debut album, and now his own debut full length album "Ekstasis" is set for release on GeoMagnetic/Darkstar records in April 2007.

Chuck Looper (AKA FaceHead), is one of those "saved by psy-trance" stories. Shortly after breaking free from a tarnished past a friend took him to his first psychedelic event in 2002. It changed his life. Since 1998 Chuck had been djing and producing his own blend of noisy experimental electronic music. After that first party, he went home and immediately started working on his first psy track. Since then it has been an obsession. Constantly searching for the most unique and bizarre sounds, FaceHead brings a style all his own that will leave you stomping away with question marks over your heads. Primordial Ooze ~ Divine Balance Records, Chicago

The Primordial Ooze project was created by DJ's Kaiser Soze and S.O.T. as an experiment in genetic sound programming and nano-acoustic engineering. Self-replicating and mutating algorithms, swarms of frequencies that collaborate, breed and communicate, flourish in an environment of artificial selection and continual evolution. Currently working on two albums this energetic live act is continuously expanding their farm of pet-frequencies with various sonic creatures. These lively pets can cause serious mayhem on the dancefloor! But with properly tied shoes, participants are generally safe and happy.

Dave Henshaw ~ Changmian/Sonic Beating Productions, Boston: Dave recently pre-ordered a Jason Varitek action figure and spent too much on shipping. He threw away his cell phone two years ago and now prefers endmills to emails. He has a profound appreciation for the music of Iboga Records and the city of Boston. Two ninjas guard his two prized jade plants and his one pair of sox. He bleeds deep red. People usually smile when they hear his name and say, 'Dave? He’s like 75% baseball fanatic, 50% philosophy-geek, and 99% percent PROG-HEAD.' (Not all his friends failed high-school math, though.)
Professor X ~ Trance Psyndicate, Chicago: Professor X started djing electronic music in 1998 when he was going to one of the top audio schools in the country, and started DJ'ing in Orlando, Florida, playing at bigger clubs like Hard Rock Live and The Groove. Soon after meeting DJ Zero Six in his hometown in Illinois, he discovered psytrance and became a core element of the Trancepsyndicate. He has played at parties such as the Cosmic Outset, Earthdance, and the Apsylum for the Unsane.
Derby ~ T.O.U.C.H Samadhi, Chilluminati, Chicago: After traveling around Europe collecting vinyl, Derby was introduced to the melodic and twisting sounds of psychedelic trance. Later he met up with Kri and became a member of Asheville NC's TOUCH Samadhi. One day Derby woke up in Chicago, IL. Now he is a prime psytrance vector, infecting the Midwest with his sound. Through international mail-order, Derby constantly updates his collection of morphing multi-layered psychedelic trance. In love with the music and the dance floor, Derby delivers the sounds and energy to the ears and minds of those "tuned in" and "turned on".
Mr. Roboto ~ Trance Psyndicate, Chicago: Robert Houchin aka Mr. Roboto is a force majeure to full-on morning trance. Starting out in various garage bands, he yearned for something more. Something crunchy. When he stumbled upon the Trance Psyndicate in their underground bomb shelter sessions, he immediately knew where he wanted to take his music. Originally from a one-horse town in central Illinois, he now resides in big-ass Chicago, and has been rumored to be working on original material in the studio.
KT ~ T.O.U.C.H Samadhi, Chicago: Poised mischievously between Light and Dark, KT toys with full-on midnight mayhem while beckoning the melodic morning to come closer. She intertwines the energetic edge of the night with the uplifting beauty of the daylight-pulsing one into the other-and weaving the two into an intricate dance of celestial balance in order to create the soundtrack of your psychedelic life.

Robyo ~ Audiognomes, Rockford: Robyo was born and raised on the wrong side of the tracks in badass Rockford, where he played bass in several well-known punk and hardcore bands. At the age of 21 he moved to Oregon state and discovered electronica. While in the Pacific Northwest, he learned to play the djembe and didjeridoo, but now he is back in the Midwest with a vengeance. Robyo's style is analogous to the ocean's tides where tempo, density and color sway though time and a divine oscillating influence. An avid fan of psychedelic production techniques, he prefers tribal, dub, ambient and trance soundscapes.
Damon ~ Divine Balance Records/Chillumafia, Poland: Listening to music is never enough. Damon continues to slather you within a seamless intervention of psymbient, downtempo, dub & world music. Kent Vogel ~ Trance Psyndicate, Bloomington-Normal, Illinois: With over a decade of mixing experience, Kent Vogel has defined a very unique style of uptempo chillout which is a perfect compliment to psychedelic culture. Spyder ~ Dream Assilem, Peoria: Discovered causing a ruckus amongst the townsfolk, Melissa Schlesinger is the class clown who’s lost her class. Once found lying on a futon in a giggling mess after having had a can-can conundrum on a stool in a dorm room, she could later be seen balancing the stool on her face while doing the hokey pokey. But is that really what it’s all about? She says, no. Juggling, theatrics, artistry, and design, among other things; that’s what it’s really all about. The strange creature you may see burning atop the bonfire is the product of her imagination, and the strange creature you may see juggling fire, and causing a ruckus amongst the townsfolk, is the Spyder herself.

Camping is allowed, Saturday and Sunday only.
You can build a campfire, check with Chilluminati staff for locations. Buy or bring your own firewood. Wood will not be available for sale at the campground.
Snacks, beverage, cigarettes, water, and hookahs will be available via vendor Smoker's Den.
Keep your campsite clean so that we get invited back. Crew is not there to clean up after you. . . LEAVE NO TRACE. This includes packing out your own trash. This venue has limited garbage pickup. You have to take your trash out with you. Cigarette butts should never hit the ground, use a portable ashtray.
No glass containers.
BYOB
There is free drinking water on site to refill bottles.
Bring a flashlight.

FLYING SCORPIONS ~ LIVE: Squaremeat are Pepe Kosminen and Francoise Faggott, a psychedelic trance duo from Helsinki, Finland. Pepe has been DJing since the early 90s, and has been active as a member of O*Men, Fluoro Fantasy, Midiliitto and Flying Scorpions, and has also produced music under the pseudonym Lightaman Jr. Francoise is one of the founding members of Texas Faggott with Tomo Tomatoeyes (Tim Thick) of Mandalavandalz, also a member of Midiliitto and several other Finnish groups. All are pioneers of the trance sound in Finland, have vast DJ experience and have toured together and separately across the world. Their sound is best described as funky psychedelic powerdisco, uplifting music for the mindtravels (suomisaundi).

Asmadeus ~ Native State Records, IL: A clasically trained pianist from a prestigious music school in Ukraine, Asmadeus has been composing and producing since the age of 12. He founded the first non-profit organization of underground electronic musicians on the internet, United Trackers. With tracks climbing on the London radio charts, Asmadeus has established a unique electonica sound, blending elements of classical sound with drum'n'bass, acid, and trip hop.
S.O.T. ~ TOUCH Samadhi, IL: Growing up in Siberian lowlands, S.O.T was captivated by the magic of never ending forests. If you do not bring a flashlight to this event, be prepared to walk into trees and fall down, often. The darkness shows no mercy. Arm yourself.
LEAVE NO TRACE. We will provide trash bags on request. Please do not litter, and especially please throw away plastic water bottles. Respect the venue.
PLEASE STAY to the end and help us to take down deco and equipment. The more you can help, the more we can stay sane and preserve a good relationship with the venue. The venue loves to see people staying to clean up.

Participants can be refused entry or removed from the event for any reason.
No ins and outs. Due to parking, we cannot allow people to leave the park without paying an additional parking fee. If you leave the park, your vehicle is not guaranteed parking upon your return.
No independent stages.
Wristbands must be worn at all times. Broken wristbands must be returned to event organizers who will issue a replacement. People without wristbands must pay the gate fee for a new wristband. People found on the property without a wristband, who are unwilling to pay the gate fee, will be escorted off the property through the main gate, no exceptions.
Please bring a photo ID. We will be carding all attendees to verify 18+.

Volunteer Program

If you want to volunteer, tell a Chilluminati organizer at the front gate when you arrive. Chilluminati will be wearing the Chilluminati logo.

- Please remember that you must purchase tickets even if you think you may be reimbursed by volunteering. We would reimburse you AFTER you had done your volunteer time. . . and we are NOT GUARANTEEING we can use you as a volunteer.

- Please note, very important: WE CANNOT GUARANTEE you will get to be a volunteer. We only have budget for a small number of volunteers. You should not budget for this event counting on being comped at the end. This is NOT a guaranteed free admission to the event.

With the above 2 points made, here is how volunteering will work:

- To maximize your chances of being a comped volunteer, our preference will be for people who show up by noon on Saturday. Some of our biggest challenges will be on Friday so we will make our strongest commitments to people who are available first thing Friday.

- We are generally comping for people who commit to setup on Saturday, helping with cleanup on Sunday, or committing to 4 hours of working gate or parking during the event. We also have strong interest in volunteers with emergency medical training. Please contact us directly if you have that under your belt.

- Volunteers can only be confirmed as volunteers at the event when you show up, not via email or phone before the event.

- Once you are finished, you need to be signed off by the Chilluminati event staff that you worked, you will be eligible for reimbursement of your attendance fee and other perks.

- Compensation will be made within 30 days of the event by mail. If we run out of T-shirts we will mail you one, so leave your mailing address with us. If you have to leave before the event, we need to get your mailing address and will mail you your stuff.

- There will be at least 2 Chilluminati Crew at all times. You will be working with them providing directions and scheduling. Please make sure they know you worked as a volunteer, and have them sign off.

- If you want to volunteer, come with water bottles, comfortable clothing, flashlights, comfortable shoes, hat, and rain gear so you can handle the weather that staff will be working; also so you can work at night.

- If you have a Family Radio Service (FRS) 2-way radio, please bring it!! (these are the radios with 14 channels and 38 squelch codes, they are very inexpensive).

Our model for security is Burning Man's Black Rock Rangers. We intend to follow a unintrusive, low-key peaceful approach to event security. We need people with good diplomatic skills, basically happy people committed to having fun but alert and mature.

MORE ABOUT THE KALYX CENTER

Housed in a converted 1875 horse barn and farm house, the Kalyx Center provides a safe retreat space for community events such as retreats, campouts, concerts, exhibits and family gatherings in a wooded setting next to Allerton Park. Both the house and the barn were originally built on nearby land, and moved to the Kalyx Center. "A house was going to be demolished, so Bill [Taylor] bought it for a dollar and had it moved onto the land in 1986. The barn, likewise, was slated to be demolished, but the cost of moving it was prohibitive, so he tore it down and rebuilt it on his land in 1989. Kalyx hosted international work camps, whose volunteers helped do the work."

The Kalyx Center is run by progressive radio activist Bill Taylor. As a student at the University of Illinois, Bill was an anti-war activist who was disturbed by the level of disinformation and bad reporting about the war in Vietnam by mainstream media. After years of effort Bill established one of the nation's only and oldest independent community-owned radio stations, WEFT, at the University of Illinois at Urbana.

After establishing WEFT, Bill and his daughters moved to Honduras, and lived there for several years. Upon their return from Central America, Bill began ". . . a project to get funding to transfer outmoded technology from the U.S. to Third World countries . . . helping build radio stations in Central America. His project is called Primary Communications Project, and it's helped a dozen radio stations get built or improved." Bill says that radio is an extremely important communication medium in central America, but most stations are technically very poorly equipped. "In the country of Honduras, for example, there are a total of five radio engineers to serve 120 stations. Bill has seen radio stations with exposed wiring and tendencies to burst into flame. One Nicaraguan station he helped build was blown up a couple of weeks later, probably by contras."

One of Bill's most exciting efforts is the Illinois Shortwave Project. As Bill says, "While relatively unknown in the U.S., shortwave radio is the most universally owned communications medium in the world, with 660,000,000 receivers worldwide. Currently, U.S. shortwave is dominated by right wing kooks and propaganda. We're working to build a high power listener sponsored shortwave station near C-U which will be able to bring progressive programming to all areas of the U.S., and at the same time show the outside world that there are many people here who have a world view which differs with that of our government."

Our Vision

This is the first of two weekend-long camping festivals the Chilluminati will be creating in 2006. Both of our weekend festivals will be in western Wisconsin, close to the heart of the psychedelic tribes of that state and those of Iowa, Minnesota, Ontario, and Illinois.

The Native Americans of western Wisconsin built huge sacred earthworks that we now know as effigy mounds. These immense earthen symbols, carved into the earth, were symbols of the Divine. Just as they built their mounds, we create these parties as Cosmic Condensates; our Music, Dance, Light, and Love form a sacred structure in Space and Time, a microcosmic celebration of the Infinite.

Come join with us this year by helping us to invoke the Five Elements:

Earth - our beautiful new party location near Black River Falls is known and loved by many
Air - The Music, both Psychedelic Trance and Chill/Downtempo/Ambient, is the air we breathe

WE PROVIDE: 2 stages of sound and light, 4 days of camping in a beautiful natural environment (rain or shine), running water, bathrooms and hot showers, full vending (including alcohol for those 21+).

YOU PROVIDE : a tent, enough food and beverages for the weekend (or some cash - food and beverages will be available for sale), NO GLASS, NO DRUGS, NO PETS, NO FIREWOOD (firewood can be purchased on-site).

Living in New York City since 1989, Matyas has a unique ability to provide the right elements for the creation of uplifting and otherworldly environments, from festival dance floors in the heart of Brazil to nightclubs in Tokyo. A classically trained fine artist and cinematographer at Parsons School of Design, Matyas started experimenting with multi media installations in the Brooklyn underground scene of the nineties. In 2001 Matyas founded Reality Engine, a multi-media art collective specializing in site-specific AV installations. He has shown work at Trancendence, Brasil; at Alex Grey’s Entheocentric Saloon, CoSM, NYC; and did video editing, compositing and motion graphics for the movie Entheogen.

Mist is an established veteran of the Texas psy trance scene. He is the co-founder of the seminal Texas psy trance production company, Mistical Production. After a brief stint as an Inpsyde Media label DJ, he joined forces with Acidance Records, a psy trance label based in Athens, Greece. For them he compiled the two very successful releases Dirty South and A Violent Reaction.

Witchdokta ~ Full Circle/Phoenix Family [California]

The Wichdokta began DJing in '96 and formed the Full Circle Collective in Mendo, Northern California. In '2000 he met up with Dr. Spook and created the loving Phoenix Famly. As a promoter and gathering thrower, he knows what gets the people going. The Wichdokta's sets are something of a spectacle to witness, his amazing energy and sinister music go hand in hand to give you the ride of your life!

Arahat aka Hidro-Ponik ~ Cosmic Theatre [California]

A Goa/Psy Dj since 1995, Hidro's intelligent and twisted psychedelic trance has been tearing up the US. Expect him to break out quite a few of his own tracks under the project name Arahat. DJ Hidro-Ponik is a force felt all through you when connected to the cosmic spirit on the dance floor. Be prepared for a wonderful set of crazy night oriented dance experimentation.

Most fun I've had in 2006!

Not a chill party in its purest sense, but maybe we've learned that a PURELY chill party would be boring, and that people just *need* to dance harder during those peak hours.

I think we also learned that doing a "freeform" rotation of DJs just leads to confusion and setup nightmares. From now on we'll stick with concrete DJ schedules.

Thanks to Dan, our host, and to everyone who pitched in and did their specialized bit.

SIDE BITCHY NOTE : Would have liked to see less litter. It always amazes me how, invariably, there's a gazillion full water bottles lying around, barely touched. People need to be better about disposing their beer empties and food waste, too. Friggin' gross.

Yeah, I felt bad about the scheduling thing. Nice idea, but tough to implement with that many performers. Works better for 3-4 djs I think, but I am sure you are aware of that problem. Hope that Lewtwo gets another slot to play someday

That aside, everything else was pretty perfect. Probably the best deco I have ever seen at an event. Was honored to be able to help. The night got a little crowded, curious if there are final numbers. I thought about 200. Not bad for a word of mouth type thing The music flow was outstanding, felt very organic and the bpm was raised at the right times I thought, definately a unique spin on a downtempo event but I think it worked great felt very natural.

Was nice to meet Lauryn and move her from my list of people I need to meet on my tribe profile Great to see so many people I had seen across the midwest at various events, noticed a lot of faces I had not seen since the last further. Good to know us old ravers are still chasing the beat.

Lots of incredible dancing with free expression going on. Definately some great vibes. If that is how 2006 is gonna go, hecka yeah! I didn't talk much during the event, got kinda in the within self mode due to the crowd so hope no one was offended!

This weekend was absolutely amazing. Not only from a hedonistic point of view, but also from a spiritual perspective. The combination of wonderful, respectful and appreciative people, an amazing venue with a nice theme decor, excellent and well eq-ed sound, and great talent just put me over the top.

First and foremost I wanted to say thank you to all the people I met and all the caring people I already know. Hello and well met to Paul, Jeff (the Fixter), Debbie, Terry (great dancing style), Tom (also a great dancer and learned in martial arts), Glenda (ditto), Tobias, Erin, Tom (thank you for your sincere thoughts), Vanessa, Ivan, Rainbow Bright (again), Martin, Mark, Devon, Rueben, and all the others I met, but whose names I can not remember. Thanks to all the Iowa crew that were up there helping add to the already stellar atmosphere; Abe, Dan, Ashley (Bubbles- i know you're not technically in Iowa, but...), Jeff Z. (of course), Mariposa, el chill,tj, Molimo, Airyck, Sarah, dev null, and anyone else that I forgot to mention.

Thanks to everyone and myself I got back in touch with some fundamental aspects of who I am this weekend. Sometimes things get lost and you can't quite put your finger on them, but when they reappear you know exactly what it is that you've been missing. I have rediscovered and reawakened my Dancer and it is a glorious feeling that I hope to share with anyone who can appreciate it and anyone that it can help.

I know I'll get some flack from the hardcore psytrancers, but personally I really enjoyed the chillout for a change, it allowed for conversation. Me and my crew had an absolute blast, and we barely made it back home in time for my girlfriend to get to work at 11 am.... It was great talking to the familiar people and getting to know some new ones.

Most amazing community response I have seen at any Chilluminati event. If you need any proof that this is now a full-fledged tribe, just think about Bioluminescence.

Friday night setup there were over eight people, many who stayed until 1:30 in the morning. Enormous setup of the venue was completed before Saturday setup even began.

Saturday setup we had over 20 people helping. It is inconceivable that we could have finished deco in time without them.

Thank you to Chilluminati partygoers who responded to the call. Thank you for all the art contributions. Thanks in particular to Allen for the tapestry he brought after recolorizing it just for the event theme; thanks also to Varun for many tapestries brought.

I want to also thank some particular people by name but I don't want to slight anyone so I will give more thought to that one before posting.

The Milwaukee-based Paka Paka Lightshow consists of the father & son team Jerry and Reuben Fortier and long time collaborator Dale Kaminski. In 1968, Fortier founded the Eyes of Khamphalous Lightshow in Madison, WI. As the visuals behind the Broadway production of "Warp" and the resident lightshow for the Melkweg and Paradiso clubs in Amsterdam from 1969 to 1972, the Khamphalous Lightshow created a unique psychedlic visual experience. The Paka Paka Lightshow brings this experience into the digital age.
