Happy Birthday BookWise!

BookWise just turned one years old and, wow, what a year it has been. The company has grown 400% in its first year and is at 4754 Associates and 1526 Preferred Customers as of last night. I'm quite sure that the numbers have gone up in the past 24hours. One of the company's goals is to make it to 10,000 Associates by the end of 2008. I don't think it will take that long. BookWise is growing by leaps and bounds.

Last night at the Birthday Bash some great incentives were announced:

Associates who enroll 20 new Associates within the next 90 days will join other BookWise Associates as well as the Founders on a 5 day Mexican Cruise June 9th - 14th.

Even if you enroll only 10 new Associates your cruise will be half off. Enroll 40 and bring a guest. How cool is that?

Also, the "Race to Rome" is on. Enroll 100 new Associates during 2008 and you will spend 7 marvelous days in Italy in early 2009. Ahhh, spring time in Italy...what a dream!

BookWise is such a great opportunity for anyone looking for a UNIQUE home-based business. The small monthly membership fee returns at least 10 times the cost in incredible value. Oh Canada.....Here we come

I am very excited to announce that BookWise is on its way to cross the border into Canada. That is such great news!

So many books...So little time

Since joining BookWise and especially going to their First Annual Convention I have bought so many new books that it will take me a bit of time to read them all. I was like a kid in a candy store ;o)

So I kind of liked it when with the opening of the new BookWise bookstores in December, the selection increased to now also offer music CDs and movie DVDs. My son calls me a "movie buff"...yeah, I do like them...a lot actually...and, it takes one to know one.

So now, instead of being "limited" to select a book for my qualifying order each month, I can select a movie instead, or a music CD. My son, who is a "video gamer" can select his favorite games soon as games will be added to the selection in 2008.

So there's something for everyone here at BookWise...for the bookworms, the movie buffs and the video gamers. How great is that?

144 million books

144 million books is a lot of books. But that's how many books of the "Chicken Soup" series have been published so far.

I had the great privilege of meeting Mark Victor Hansen at the AuthorWise Bestsellers Seminar in Salt Lake City, Utah this past week. I have been an avid reader of these books and of course I found some new ones as well and had them autographed. What a treat!

I always feel inspired by the stories...and someday, I will write my own. Or even my own book. I have been thinking more about that lately....Yes, there's a book in me. I better grab "Chicken Soup for the Writer's Soul" ;o)

Oh dear, I can't believe I haven't posted for a month. How time flies when you're having fun building your business. Yes indeed, I've been quite busy. But now...I'm back...and more excited than ever.

Personal Availability of Robert Allen....

The "personal availability of Robert Allen" was the main reason a gentleman from San Antonio joined BookWise. He mentioned on a call today that he was so impressed that Robert Allen, who is an extremely busy business man would make himself available to conduct Business Overview calls.

I must admit that impressed me as well. I have been in this industry for a while and haven't found anyone of the management team of other companies I have been associated with conduct calls before. Not only does Robert Allen conduct Business Overview calls personally he also conducts a weekly Business Building training call called PresidentWise. What I am learning there I can apply to ANY business not just my BookWise business.

I have noticed that these training calls are changing me as a person. They really challenge me to grow and step out of my comfort zone. There usually is a "weekly challenge" which has a reward for completing it. (I will write more about that in another post.) What really gets me is, that this incredible training (for which people would pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars) is included in my monthly membership fee of $35. It's incredible!

That's what I was asked today by someone who was looking at the business part of BookWise. If it would have been any other startup company I would have hesitated with the answer, but in this case I had every confidence and answered with a firm "YES! Absolutely! No doubt in my mind.

Last month we said that there would be seven exciting, major announcements before or during convention. The first of those announcements was shared last night at AIM training.

Announcement #1. Change in Qualifications.

After much research and discussion with BookWise Associates and the Presidents 100 Club, we have decided to enhance the first level of commission qualification.

PREVIOUS QUALIFICATION: Associates must enroll a minimum of three Associates to receive unilevel commissions on levels 2 through 8.

NEW QUALIFICATION: Associates are paid commissions on everyone in their downline (from levels one through eight) regardless of whether they have enrolled anyone or not.

NOTE: This change DOES NOT not affect the 9 for 9 qualification. Associates must have personally enrolled nine associates in order to receive payment on the bonus ninth level.

WHY THE CHANGE?

From our inception, BookWise has been committed to leading the Network Marketing industry in three key areas: 1. Simplicity 2. Fairness 3. Retention rates. We believe this change will help us achieve all three goals.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT ME? In our commission tests, more than 98% of all commission checks maintained or INCREASED. Some checks increased substantially.

WILL THIS DISCOURAGE MY DOWNLINE FROM RECRUITING?
We believe the opposite is true. Those who recruit will continue to reap the vast financial benefits that come from enrolling, including Quickstart commissions and Matching commissions. The benefit, of the new plan to the enrollers is increased retention and goodwill. It is noteworthy that the top BookWise recruiters unanimously welcomed and voted for this new plan.

WHERE DOES THE EXTRA MONEY COME FROM? The vast majority comes from 'breakage', unearned commissions that went directly to BookWise corporate. The founders firmly believe that all commissions should be paid out to Associates.

How do I make money in BookWise?

Major Comp Plan Changes Announced 8/21/2007
No Sponsoring Required to Earn on 8 Levels

There are six ways to make money in BookWise:

1. QuickStart Commissions
Active Associates will receive a $35 QuickStart Commission on the first qualifying order placed by each new Associate they enroll. Sponsors only receive the $35 QuickStart Commission for those new Associates they have also enrolled. For example, if Liz enrolls and sponsors Mark, she gets the $35 QuickStart Commission on Mark's first qualifying order. If she then enrolls Jim and places him under Mark with Mark as Jim's Sponsor, Liz is the only one who receives the $35 QuickStart Commission on Jim's first qualifying order.

2. Unilevel Commissions
The Unilevel compensation plan was created with four main objectives:
- Simplicity
- Quick Profitability
- Possibility of Profitability
- Fairness

To accomplish these four objectives, BookWise rejected the complex qualifying methods associated with most MLMs. There are only two simple qualifications necessary to get paid on eight levels. In addition, there is a third qualification to meet the Bonus Level payments:
- Associates must maintain Active status (having a monthly qualified purchase of at least $35) in order to participate in the BookWise compensation plan and earn Unilevel commissions on level one.
- Associates must maintain Qualified Associate status in order to get paid on levels two through eight.
- Bonus Level—Associates must enroll a minimum of nine Active Associates into their organization to get paid on the Bonus 9th Level. We call this the Nine for Nine.

Unilevel commissions are based solely on the Monthly Book Selection orders of Active Associates in an organization's downline. All other book order commissions will be paid as Additional Volume Commissions. The Unilevel percentages for each level of a downline are as follows:

Level 1—2%
Level 2—4%
Level 3—2%
Level 4—1%
Level 5—1%
Level 6—1%
Level 7—2%
Level 8—3%
Bonus Level—4%

3.Matching Commissions
This is the truly revolutionary part of the BookWise Compensation Plan—an active Qualified Associate will receive 100% matching commissions on all Unilevel Commissions paid to any Associate they have enrolled in their organization. Imagine if you got to match the checks of everyone you hired at your day job. Pretty exciting idea, really.

4. Preferred Customers
Associates can enroll Preferred Customers into their organization and will earn a 10% monthly commission on all of their Preferred Customers' purchases.

5. Direct Retail Sales
When you join BookWise and purchase a BookWise starter kit, you become a bookstore. All BookWise Associates may purchase books at wholesale prices (40% off) and resell them to friends, family, book clubs, reading groups, etc.

6. Additional Volume Commissions
Active Associates receive a 1% commission on additional books purchased by all Associates in the first five levels of his/her downline, excluding Monthly Book Selection orders.
