This set is listed on Ebay. I used one of Paula's cat patterns and revised it but the pumpkins are my own design. I tried to make the stems look more real. I used to make green stems and then after looking at pictures I realized that the stems really are not green. The pumpkins look brighter than they are in the pictures. Also if anyone is interested in just the pumpkins alone, I would consider taking a couple of orders. Here is the link if you would like to check him out: <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;rd=1&amp;item=230282860078&amp;ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&amp;ih=013"> Black Cat on Ebay </a><br /><br />Be sure to scroll down for Paula's new Santa listed on Ebay this week!<br /></span></span><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SKpYUyfISTI/AAAAAAAAAU4/wEotams7gLQ/s1600-h/veggies+162.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SKpYUyfISTI/AAAAAAAAAU4/wEotams7gLQ/s400/veggies+162.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5236094630944590130" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SKpYVv1JhUI/AAAAAAAAAVA/n33h1vyvfKw/s1600-h/veggies+156.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SKpYVv1JhUI/AAAAAAAAAVA/n33h1vyvfKw/s400/veggies+156.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5236094647411508546" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SKpYWX0OWWI/AAAAAAAAAVI/un6P1DwveXU/s1600-h/veggies+159.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SKpYWX0OWWI/AAAAAAAAAVI/un6P1DwveXU/s400/veggies+159.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5236094658145048930" border="0" /></a>Primitive Sistershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11811097739228002383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9134304312515582431.post-67088008726556295132008-08-18T04:18:00.001-05:002008-08-18T08:28:33.867-05:00Paula has an awesome new Primitive Folk Art Santa on Ebay!<span style="color: rgb(153, 102, 51);"><span style="font-size:130%;">Paula has listed her beautiful Santa on ebay tonight! Nashville Star Melissa Lawson!<span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="color: rgb(153, 102, 51);">Tonight is the final night to watch and see if Melissa will be crowned the next Nashville Star! If you have not read my other post about her, Melissa is a friend of my daughter Mandy. She is a beautiful person inside and out and helped our family a lot while Mandy's husband was in the hospital fighting cancer. We are so proud of her for getting this far! My daughter's church is having a huge watch party tonight and all the news crews will be there to televise it. I really feel like she has a great chance to win this! Her husband took off Sunday to drive to Nashville with their 5 little boys. Rick is a superman for taking care of the boys and the home front while Melissa goes for her dreams! Here is a video of last weeks performance. Hope you all can watch! I feel sorry for the people who just don't get it. You know what I mean? This week once again I encountered a person who no matter how much I tried to explain what I do, I just seemed to dig my hole deeper into this crazy awesome world of primitive folk art. I finally had to give up and walk away knowing they think I am completely nuts.<br /><br />Living in the city in Texas does not help at all. My heart is in the country farm town that I was raised in. In my world, I imagine myself in a Little House on the Prairie world. Let me say that I feel very much like an alien in the middle of this fast paced city life. To me, people here are running so hard and fast that they do not know how to stop and enjoy the very simple things in life that money can't buy.<br /><br />I encountered "one of those" this week. This lady came over and saw that I was sitting at the table painting and sewing some of my vegetables. I saw the look on her face like she was not impressed at all. She asked, "well what do you do with them"? I tried to explain that if you lived in an old farmhouse they would look so awesome in an old wooden bowl on an old kitchen table. She picked up the piece of corn I was working on and I could tell she just could not picture it in her fancy pants house... It was as if she thought she picked up something that had germs on it. She then felt like she had to let me know that she knew no one who would want anything like this. She told me she could imagine people in the hills of Tennessee maybe wanting them... Hmmmm, was she calling me a hillbilly? I was getting more and more upset in my mind. She then said " People really buy these on eBay?" I tried to explain again. Defending a world that I love. It has happened so many times before. Trying to explain why my dolls eyes look like they do, why I have a pan of grose tea mixture on the stove, why my fingers are brown from tea stains and why all my shirts have paint spots on them...<br /><br />I give up... I have a choice. I can choose to let her make me feel inferior with her snooty insults or I can choose to realize that I am the rich one. I am the one who is able to take the most simple things in life and turn them into memories that make people stop and smile. I am the rich one for having so many friends who are like me in this world of prim. I am the rich one for I can see the heart that goes into each beautiful creation that my friends come up with. I love being happy for my friends when their dolls get so many bids on eBay. I love how even though many of my friends I have never met, yet I feel so close to and know that they would be there for me when I needed them.<br /><br />I am the rich one. When my days are over, I think it is awesome that some of the things I have created are out there making people smile and giving people memories, reminding people of the days when simple things were the richest things in life.</span><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SJGI8AbtOfI/AAAAAAAAAUI/bbfwAszV5MA/s1600-h/05bc_1.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SJGI8AbtOfI/AAAAAAAAAUI/bbfwAszV5MA/s400/05bc_1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5229111206843595250" border="0" /></a><br />I borrowed this picture from another blog. Hope it is okay. It is an example of us. I thought it was cute and it made me smile. I remember we always picked a big bouquet to take to the cemetery on Memorial Day. I was reading a blog and they had a picture of their peonies in bloom and it sure brought back memories for me. As a child I remember watching them just covered in ants. Now I live in Texas and I have not seen any here. They must just grow in the cooler states. I will have to call my Mom today and remind her of our peonies. </span><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDpFBiL1MnI/AAAAAAAAANM/MFLCzfx_XyE/s1600-h/peonies.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDpFBiL1MnI/AAAAAAAAANM/MFLCzfx_XyE/s400/peonies.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204548212038644338" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDpFByL1MoI/AAAAAAAAANU/qTG63BK2_SE/s1600-h/WhitePeony.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDpFByL1MoI/AAAAAAAAANU/qTG63BK2_SE/s400/WhitePeony.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204548216333611650" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDpFCCL1MpI/AAAAAAAAANc/Cwo6ynL0Z0g/s1600-h/6a00c2251dfb288e1d00cd972c1a664cd5-500pi.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDpFCCL1MpI/AAAAAAAAANc/Cwo6ynL0Z0g/s400/6a00c2251dfb288e1d00cd972c1a664cd5-500pi.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204548220628578962" border="0" /></a>Primitive Sistershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11811097739228002383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9134304312515582431.post-30314746229343897712008-05-24T13:34:00.005-05:002008-05-24T15:01:00.735-05:00Antique Ice Cream Maker<span style="font-size:100%;"><span style="color: rgb(204, 153, 51);">Look what my daughter found for me. I was impressed because she is not really into antiques. The date on the crank says 1910. At first I was scared to open it up but my Mom said I had to see if all the parts were there. Sure enough inside are the wooden paddles that make the ice cream. I remember wooden ice cream makers as a child but had never seen a tin one before. It makes a quart and the bucket is about the size of a paint can. I asked my Mom about it. She is 85 years old. She said she had one around 50 years ago. She described it exactly. Even the hole on the side. She said they always had to set it on a towel to crank because water would drain out that hole on the side. I love talking to our Mom about memories. Don't you wish antiques could talk to us and tell us their stories? I can almost hear children's laughter at the church picnic as Mom and Dad was cranking the ice cream maker...MMMMmmm there is nothing better than home made ice cream.</span></span><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDhgLSL1MkI/AAAAAAAAAMs/YUEnaB7ASTo/s1600-h/08-28-07+260.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDhgLSL1MkI/AAAAAAAAAMs/YUEnaB7ASTo/s400/08-28-07+260.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204015116402897474" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDhgLiL1MlI/AAAAAAAAAM0/kYc-cuQpPOY/s1600-h/08-28-07+261.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDhgLiL1MlI/AAAAAAAAAM0/kYc-cuQpPOY/s400/08-28-07+261.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204015120697864786" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDhgLyL1MmI/AAAAAAAAAM8/-uBGtq3-fxQ/s1600-h/08-28-07+262.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDhgLyL1MmI/AAAAAAAAAM8/-uBGtq3-fxQ/s400/08-28-07+262.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204015124992832098" border="0" /></a>Primitive Sistershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11811097739228002383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9134304312515582431.post-63900506775469212082008-05-23T09:15:00.013-05:002008-05-23T09:39:47.257-05:00Cades Cove Great Smoky Mountains<span style="color: rgb(153, 102, 51);font-size:130%;" >Over Mother's Day weekend, Paula and her family visited Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains. She got some beautiful pictures. What a beautiful place to visit to take you back in time of the days when life was so simple. I like the pictures of the church. It has two doors because in those days the men and women entered the church in separate doors. Here is a link that can tell you much more about this very famous place to visit. <a href="http://www.imagesbuilder.com/gsmnp/cadescove.html">Cades Cove</a></span><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbWeiL1MjI/AAAAAAAAAMk/kto1qoiGOP0/s1600-h/DSC07813.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbWeiL1MjI/AAAAAAAAAMk/kto1qoiGOP0/s400/DSC07813.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203582239534035506" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbV6SL1MgI/AAAAAAAAAMM/kwsT3mXVch0/s1600-h/DSC07794.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbV6SL1MgI/AAAAAAAAAMM/kwsT3mXVch0/s400/DSC07794.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203581616763777538" border="0" /></a><span style="color: rgb(153, 102, 51);"><span style="font-size:100%;"></span></span><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbUDiL1MYI/AAAAAAAAALM/9YWoeOYiu_0/s1600-h/DSC07806.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbUDiL1MYI/AAAAAAAAALM/9YWoeOYiu_0/s400/DSC07806.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203579576654311810" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbUECL1MZI/AAAAAAAAALU/ojdeExGVql0/s1600-h/DSC07814.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbUECL1MZI/AAAAAAAAALU/ojdeExGVql0/s400/DSC07814.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203579585244246418" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbUEiL1MaI/AAAAAAAAALc/ROBMz1Z3nvU/s1600-h/DSC07815.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbUEiL1MaI/AAAAAAAAALc/ROBMz1Z3nvU/s400/DSC07815.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203579593834181026" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbUFCL1MbI/AAAAAAAAALk/RtUb41PTrY0/s1600-h/DSC07818.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbUFCL1MbI/AAAAAAAAALk/RtUb41PTrY0/s400/DSC07818.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203579602424115634" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbTWCL1MXI/AAAAAAAAALE/7NIvS-IVyZk/s1600-h/DSC07823.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_uIbfBKAPIw4/SDbTWCL1MXI/AAAAAAAAALE/7NIvS-IVyZk/s400/DSC07823.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203578794970263922" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="color: rgb(153, 102, 51);"><span style="font-size:100%;"><br /></span></span>Primitive Sistershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11811097739228002383noreply@blogger.com
