This picture is of the centruries old water irrigation system called the Karez created by the local people which has turned the Turpan Desert(China) into an oasis.The region is well known for its high quality Grapes & Fruits. and the picture also shows how a street looks in Turpan, almost all the streets are covered with Grape Vines.

I think this is so awesome, imagine if our streets in Sydney where covered in Grapes or Fruit.

This is Qao Qao the leading male Panda at San Diego Zoological Park.

I have always loved Panda's they are so cute,having seen the recent documentary WILD CHINA, makes me want to go to Sichuan Mountains and see them in there natural environment.

My mommy and sister came up from Melbourne which was cool. Feel more than ever to spend time with my family maybe its related to events of last August I dont know but I love them all. Some other news my brother and his gf are having a baby pretty soon in February so thats exciting news, and yes I put forth some name suggestions couldnt help it haha check the names below:

Im currently diggin music from the Korean Pop/R&B group Shinee the song "Replay" & "Amigo".

Brandy's new album "Human" although it doesnt include the Timberland song "What Have You Done For Me" or " Beliver" the song she did with artist Ethero. Which would have possibly made the album more appealing to people. But the album does contains a few good tunes like "Human" & " Camouflage"

THE WAIT FOR THE SONY ERICSSON IS OVER BUT...

The Sony Ericsson Xperia mobile is available through Telstra, although the high cost of the handset / contract / data costs has seen a slow uptake of this handset. Vodafone & Optus have no interest in selling the mobile or providing Data support according to various websites/forums. Many forums have commented this mobile could have been the number one handset of choice if only Sony Ericsson made the handset available earlier.

FATHER JOESPH MAIER OF KLONG TOEY

The Human Development Foundation and the Mercy Centre are a non profit organisation in Bangkok. Heard about this organisation from fellow backpackers in Monetvideo, Uruguay 2008 who had been to Bangkok and told me about this amazing catholic priest name Father Joesph Maier who has been based in the slums of Klong Toey assisting street children and there families. The Mercy Centre & HDF provide medical services,housing solutions and food to the thousands of children that call the slums there home. All of this is funded from private donations not only money but also food, so if you find you are able to donate money then please do or if you are able to get a group together and send food or if your in bangkok and able to take food parcels it would be greatly appreciated Im assured. I have seen a few video's of the HDF and Father Maier only the hardest of hearts would not feel something for these children.

I will visit Bangkok from 12th April to 16th April 2009 for the Songkran Festival and plan to spend a few extra days to visit the Mercy Centre .

Wow 2008 What A Year

Well 2008 has been an eventful year, I have visited Thailand,China,Hong Kong,Macau. Then in October one of my dreams come true and I visited South America, it was definetly an experience I wont forget, 3 amazing weeks,meeting people from arond the world who had a dream like me to one day go see this amazing continent.

Another first was to write for a Mobile Magazine. Thanks to everyone at Imobile Magazine it was defintely one of the best things to happen in 2008 for me.

Like you all I have had my share of ups and downs in 2008.But what I have learnt is that we must grab onto life with both hands and not let it go. As with the end of relationships and the loss of a loved one we got to keep our heads high and not look back but towards the future which holds many possiblilites for all us.

Lastly hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and great New Year 2009 & Keep safe and see you all soon & Thomas love you longtime and miss you heaps and thanks for watching out for me... Big HugoLove to all..

HOLA ... Como Esta ? Muy Bueno si

The photo's from the trip to Argentina are in the gallery. Buenos Aires was a real eye opener for this New Zealand boy. I always had this ideal of what Buenos Aires was, but when I got there it was not what I expected. The city is very european looking but thats where it ends. I stayed in the Recoletta area of the city and managed to see the lasting resting place of Eva Peron which was very interesting place the mausoleums are like mini palaces. Also Plaza de Mayo where Casa Rosada & The National Congressio are located. Also headed to La Boca which is the poor side of Buenos Aires but the people there are absoluetly beautiful and helpful trust me we needed lots of help as we couldnt speak spanish but we managed with lots of bad pronunciations and pointing at our Spanish Phrase book hahaha. While I was there I got to see the home ground of Boca Juniors Football Club,I was so excited and managed to find some locals in a cafe who spoke some english that was cool. And I went to a Tango show in San Telmo a real arts and crafts part of the city I actually really liked it there and if I go back to Buenos Aires I would stay there it has a nice charm about it. I also managed to sneak across to Uruguay as its only 3 hours away on the fast ferry that goes to Montevideo. I quite liked it very charming and country feel to the city.

Back in Sydney for couple days and then head to New Zealand for Thomas Memorial,. Will be good too see my lovely family again. Well people keep safe and stay strong in all that you do.

I brought my backpack its so awesome feels like my trip to South America is coming closer another 5 weeks wohoo. I got some more memory cards for digital camera. And going to purchase a HD Video Camera to upload to youtube hopefully the internet connection in South America is speedy fingers xed.

Well it has been really busy here in sydney especially in the office lots of work and long days, lots to organise for the South American tour, Im sure its driving lots of people alittle crazy in the office hahah certainly drives me crazy sometimes and Im the one doing the tour hahaha. Well we just got sort some accomodation out damn the US dollar is killing me kekeke not really just playing havoc on the budget, but its all good cause I want to really to see the people/culture of South America.

You always showed be some aroha (Love/Heart) during my own diffculties over the years that comes with life, I always felt like you would be the only kid I ever had, you was like brother, child wrapped into one for me.Liked seeing your eyes when I came back to New Zeland with presents for you and mum, you always appreciated them. Who is Matt?
Matt is a 31-year-old deadbeat from Connecticut who used to think that all he ever wanted to do in life was make and play video games. Matt achieved this goal pretty early and enjoyed it for a while, but eventually realized there might be other stuff he was missing out on. In February of 2003, he quit his job in Brisbane, Australia and used the money he'd saved to wander around Asia until it ran out. I'm going to head over to La Lingua language school here in Sydney to see if they have any classes for Asian languages.

I have been reading this book "Healing Our History" by Robert Consedine, which deals with the effects of colonisation on New Zealand and he also interweaves it with his own personal journey of life, but always referring back to the central theme of New Zealands history, presenting a balanced view of Pakeha (European) & Maori (Indigenous) issues.

I feel personally this book should be part of the New Zealand school curriculum, to build even greater understanding between Maori & Pakeha and to the many others who have come to call New Zealand home,also this book also examines the contributions Indigenous people make in this modern day society, whether it be culturally or through the market economy.
