Sadie and Isaac consult the map while walking the Prouty. As you can see behind Sadie's shoulder, there were plenty of signs directing the walk, so we didn't really need the map, but they enjoyed checking it out.

On Saturday, we walked the Prouty with Laura, Andy, Isaac and Naomi. We chose the wooded walk because we thought the kids would prefer it over the residential walk, and it was really fun. Sadie walked the entire 5k (3.2 miles), minus two mud puddles that she needed to be carried over. She was amazing!

Thank you so much to all who supported us. We raised $560 for cancer research and general support of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at DHMC.

Norwich Fair

We love the Norwich Fair because it's so small. Within a very happy hour, Sadie can ride all the rides that she is tall enough for and win a prize at a carnival game. Very fun, very manageable!

I managed to get a decent picture of each of the girls today...it's a miracle! I almost never get a good one of Sadie and a good one of Nellie on the same day.

Nellie and her friend Naomi enjoyed a wagon ride at the birthday party this weekend. Actually, this picture captures the only moment when they were both sitting in the wagon. Nellie was mostly trying to climb out.

It's so cute to see the little girls together. Hopefully, they will be good friends like Sadie and Isaac!

And she did! Sadie won a medal for participating in the potato sack race at the Hanover "Old Fashioned 4th of July" events. She was thrilled! She remembered these races from last year and was very excited to take part again.

We had a fun weekend with the 4th of July, fireworks, grandparents and Nellie's first birthday party. It even stopped raining. Lots more pictures to come!

Water Play at the Montshire

We finally had some decent weather on Friday and over the weekend. When Sadie woke up Friday and saw it was sunny, she asked if we could go to the Montshire and play in the water. It was Nellie's first time exploring the water park and we all had a great time.

One of our Father's Day activities was having breakfast at the Farmer's Diner in Quechee. Delicious as always.

Although Nellie had plenty of pancake on the table in front of her, it didn't stop her from reaching over and grabbing a handful of my pancake and shoving it into her mouth.

Hanover Farmer's Market

This year, the Hanover Farmer's Market moved to the green, which is a huge improvement over the garage they were in last year. It's a nice market, a lot more baked goods/prepared foods than the Lebanon market but also some veggies and fruit and Sadie's favorite, kettle corn!

We had a good time getting a picnic dinner and eating it outside. Sadie was not in a photography mood, but I got a cute smile out of Nellie. This was Wednesday, the only day this past week that we had decent weather.

We went to the Montshire today. It is a whole different ballgame now that Nellie is essentially running all over the museum and I am chasing her. Luckily, Sadie was in an independent mood. It was fun.

The lunchroom was closed for a meeting today but Sadie handled the change in plans very well and we took our picnic lunch to the library and made it there in time to do library lunch group.

Dan taught Nellie a cute trick. If you hold her and say, "Can I have a kiss?", she will lean in and kiss you right on the mouth. It's So, so cute!

Grandma and Grandpa have a big playground just a few blocks from them. Usually, within a little while of arriving at the apartment, Sadie will ask to go to the playground, and she certainly needs it after all the travel!

This time, Helena really enjoyed the playground as well. There is always a line for the swings, so she only got a short turn swinging, but she loved the slide!

Fun Friday

This morning, we went to visit Sadie's new school. In September, she will go to Pre-K at the local Montessori school. We went there this morning so she could see it. Dan and I had visited already. Sadie had a great time looking at all the new materials. She really loved how everything was accessible to the children to take out and use and then put back. She also joined in at circle time doing a phonics activity and listening to a story. We think she will love this school!
We then played on the Dartmouth Green for a little while, went back home, had a playdate with Katie and Gracie and their mom, and spent the afternoon relaxing.
