Geraldo Rivera, just for the bleeding obvious record, is a fucking idiot. First he reports he's carrying a gun for his safety in Afghanistan. (Uh hello? Supposed to be a *real* reporter? yeesh). Now he's spitting the dummy because he's been found out about not being at the site of the friendly fire incident.

"In an interview appearing in today's (Monday) Washington Post, Rivera charged that Sun writer David Folkenflik had "slandered a journalist who is an honest person and has contributed arguably much more to American society than he has."

How exactly did his piece of shit daily talk show add to American society?

Google Holiday Logos

Blogger always has the googlest, er, that would be coolest specialty logos, and this Christmas is no exception. They update every day, for about a week or so.

My other favourite is the sequence done for the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics. For my money, this sequence beats the crap out of every single millisecond of NBC's crap coverage.

Big Country star 'sounded great' before death trip - NME.COM News

As soon as I heard he'd been found dead, my first thought was suicide. I don't know why, I'd never read anything about his depressions or alcoholism. Being found dead in a hotel room in Hawaii after being disappeared for a month, that just sounds like someone in dire straits. Today I read this, and it's appeared to be confirmed. He was found hanging in the hotel room in Hawaai. How awful sad. I really liked his music, his Big Country music was all I knew, but it was good stuff.

mmm. I don't actually subscribe to the theory that Nirvana was only Kurt Cobain. Can't say much for Krist Novoselic's work after the band's demise, but just looking at Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, and thinking back to songs like Smells like Teen Spirit, that driving drum beat was as much a part of that song as the guitar riff.

Courtney does have it tough, being a single Mum in almost any circumstances is no picnic, let alone high profile, husband killing himself with a shotgun, fairly alternative career and lifestyled one.

I think she's a little off beam in this one.

I saw her first TV series back in '94, in Australia, Heartland, she was pretty damn good straight out of NIDA.. She and Judy Davis and Nicole Kidman, all of them resolutely Australian and proud, just good.

I hope so, I get a big time kick out of seeing Australians nominated in the Big Categories, let along actually up there on the dias. I'll have to keep an eye out on the listings, make the cut lunch and waterbag to NYC to see that flick.

Verizon's Dead End

This doesn't suprise me in the slightest. They're my ISP for DSL, and this is their modus operandi. Blame it on the client, try and shill the client for the $$$ until they prove that, yet again, it's Verizon's fuckup, and then backpedal, still protesting that they did the right thing.

This is actually the second coollest street name that comes to mind. The first one was named after an Australian Aboriginal Lois O'Donahue. I think that's her name, I'm a little sketchy on that. I know her name is Lois, because they named a Lane after her. She has a great sense of humour, and thought that Lois Lane was just fab.

I live in the "Garden State" and in the area in that state that provides a chunk of the growing space. Our ex-Governor Christy Whitman set up a Protection of Open spaces plan, to buy farms and preserve them. I wish someone would set up something like Brookfield Famr near me, I'd be in like Flynn with my cash on the knocker. Organic veges, grown for me, the farm preserved, what's not to like?

Whole Class Self Monitoring

Actually... he's a Very Cool teacher. The Novel makes him the sort of teacher I'd like to have had. I mean, I had cool teachers, and this guy would have rated up there with them. The self monitoring idea makes him into also the sort of teacher I'd like my nephews and nieces to have. I like children who understand actions and consequences, they grow up into adults who understand etc.

Polar Bear Phat - The Novel

The coolest thing to come out of NaNoWriMor is the Polar Bears. They're a 5th grade class from Florida, and their teacher has set the 29 kids up to write a novel during this month. That is such a cool teacher!
