I love my friends...

Whether they are Real Life friends or my Cyber friends....

When I have reached bottom and think that I can not crawl any further under the covers....my friends stick a hand out and grab on to me!!

It has happened in both of my worlds!! Can you believe how lucky and loved I feel....

1st...Shana reached out to me on Facebook...ON MY BIRTHDAY!! But, I was still hiding under the covers...feeling really sorry for myself....

Then my beloved R, sent me a simple no bull email....I sent her a text back immediately....I really do not know what I would do with out her in my life. She is the one that tells me like it is....doesn't let me hide. She gives me my space and then throws the anchor out and reels me back in.....

Being on the outside and looking in she has actually given me lots of insight on my depression patterns....Things that I have not even noticed!!

So every 3 months or so, I get depressed, I never swing high and have a manic period. I just level back out and then 3 months later I drop back down the rabbit hole. Also, each trip down the rabbit hole is longer and harder to reach me.

I know that at this point in time I still have one foot in the rabbit hole....BUT...I am sick to death of missing my life!! Tonight was the first time I put make on since Christmas Eve. Honestly, tonight was the first that even bothered to look human since Christmas Eve.

I know that birthday parties are not a life ending ordeal, but I was soooooo depressed and pissed off at the world that I did not even bother to have a small get together for my son's 6 birthday. I set aside some money, took him to Wal-Mart and told him he could pick any toy he wanted. Yep...that was my son's big 6th birthday. No pictures, not friends, no games...I did pick up Cupcakes for his class and eat lunch with him at school that day. Yeah, not my best Mom of the Year moment!!

I absolutely hate laundry!! I would rather go buy new socks than have to sort and put away hundreds of socks!!

I hate it all!!

Well, I have cheated...I have a super genie on my side!! Allie....she came in and folded, hung, and sorted PILES and PILES of laundry in about 1 and 1/2 hours. I swear what she did would have taken me all day!!

I am not really sure why I can not complete the simple task of laundry....BUT REALLY I CAN NOT!!!

I have no problem washing it...not problem throwing it in the dryer...BUT THEN....I lose whatever motivation I had.

Well, now I have a super genie and all of my laundry issues are solved!!! She also keeps me on my toes about my other household issues!!

HOLIDAYS!!!

I hate the Holidays!! I am a HUGE Bah-Humbug Grouch!! It is not the presents, money, decorating, and cooking....

It is the family!! FAMILY, FAMILY, FAMILY, and more FAMILY!!!!

Here is the deal...I have two families, MOM's Side, DAD's Side...
Mom's side is all women, who Bitch and Moan the whole day...with 1000's of ankle bitting yappy dogs!!
Dad's side is VERY small...Uncle and Grandma....with glass tables and more ankle bitting yappy dogs!!

Hubbs also has MOM's side and DAD's Side....
Mom's side is fairly okay...BUT...it is 14 people crammed into a a sardine can....6 of who are hyper happy kids being YELLED at to wipe their feet, eat their food, don't slam the door, do not talk over your brother, do not answer for your brother, move away from the TV, and it goes on and on all day!!
Dad's side is AWESOME!!!! LOVE DAD's SIDE!!!

So, a few years ago I PUT MY FOOT DOWN...I decided I would not travel all over the Coastal Bend to make EVERYONE happy...

First Year...I had Thanksgiving at my house and TRAVELED for Christmas, Kids thought that Christmas was a week long and TOTALLY lost the concept of what it was...soooo

2nd Year...Did all families on Thanksgiving...REALLY FULL!!! Four Turkeys in one day!! Had Christmas at my house..open door thing come as your schedule allowed..I served Fajitas...I still had 3 days of Christmas!! Weeks later kids still thought that we would get presents if we went to a family members house!!

Last Year....All Families again at Thanksgiving...Only Two Turkeys and two coffee and pies...much better!!! Christmas was again at my house, HUGE Ham and all the fixings...Open Door...come as you like...Fairly good turn out...BUT the BITCHES from my family decided that they did not wanna mix with Hubbs family so had their own dinner at my mom's house 2 miles away....screw thwm was my thought....I GOT A HUGE GUILT TRIP TO COME OVER!!! Me being a weakling left mt house on Christmas Day and went to give my grandmother a kiss..dropped my sister off...and came back home....LIED to my husband and said I needed more sodas from the store....

THIS YEAR...So far this is what is happening..THANKSGIVING..Mom's Side is going Camping?? Not real Sure about that....I WAS NOT INVITED...they assumed I would do Thanksgiving with Hubbs Family...Okay Fair Enough, but an invite would have been nice!! WE WILL be crammed into the Sardine can with Hubbs family and Seafood Stuffing...YUCK! I think I will also bring a long a NORMAL stuffing...Bitchy I know....And I have already stolen one of my sisters Zanax to calm myself while Mother-In-Law is doing all the yelling at MY CHILDREN!!!
And Now For Christmas....I am having another open house come as you are with all the fixings...MY MOTHER'S SIDE will be once again 2 miles away doing their own thing!! I REFUSE TO make an appearance!!

Family...isn't it GREAT!!!

I have been reading a lot!! An old friend suggested WIDE AWAKE, which is a FanFic of the whole Twilight Series....so not Vampire Related, BUT VERY VERY GOOD....

My house is a DISASTER!!! Hey!! I have been reading!!

My sister in law is making Seafood stuffing for Thanksgiving...REALLY!! YUCK!!! Why do people have to mess with Traditions...come on!!!

I have created a MONSTER!!!  

My children often fight a lot...about silly things....How to spell CAT or what color the sky is...IT GETS VERY TIRING!!! My daughter is EXTREMELY smart-~~smarter than her parents~~(I did not admit that...), which makes losing an argument with her impossible!! A while ago I noticed this had a VERY adverse effect on my son...so, trying to teach lessons I would send my son off to a different room...not correcting him and trying to let him think he was right....and I would talk to LuvBug and explain to her that "Yes, even though you are right, YOU can just walk away...YOU know the correct answer, BUT YOU DO NOT have to fight to the death until your brother agrees with you"

My thoughts were that...Bubbs would get a little self confidence and not always feel wrong and Siss would learn that not EVERY argument is worth the battle.

I have TOTALLY FAILED!!!! My son now fights her tooth and nail!!! EVERYTHING!!! And if he doesn't have the last word there is HELL to pay!! Sadly...he is often wrong....

I still have Halloween decorations up!!
I HAVE BEEN READING!!!

My husband went hunting this weekend...I ate Ben and Jerrys Coffee Heath Bar Crunch for Dinner!! Kids had PB&J sandwhiches...thats how we roll when Daddy is away!!!

Mt sister is a doormat...always has been!!! For the last 10 years she has had some bum or another living on her couch...some boyfriends some just friends...NONE have ever had a Car, JOB, MONEY...she has MAJOR karma points built up...she has been working out an arangement for a girlfriend to move in with her and SHARE the rent. The friend is having MAJOR money problems....Today at breakfast my sister says..."Why am I gonna charge her rent? None of the other guys paid rent! At least she has a car and a job!" Gotta LOVE MY SISTER!!!!!

I LOVE MY DAILY BREAKFASTS WITH MY SISTER!!!

I haven't gotten ANY Christmas shopping done!!

ReReading Favorites...Twilight

Last October (08), while LuvBug was recouping from a tonsillectomy, I was introduced to Edward. And Bella...BUT mostly Edward.

For those of you who have been under a rock, Yes, I am talking about Twilight.

I read A LOT....lots of Chic Lit...Nothing serious...Fun Brainless Reads.... I have always been an avid reader. I love to read series of books, like the Shopaholic series. I like to read all of one writers books before I move onto a new author. I am weird...I KNOW!! But, in all of my reading, I have never reread the same author's books more than I have reread the Twilight Saga.

I totally got SUCKED IN....NO, I do not have posters in my closet, or wear the t-shirts, BUT I am an addicted!!! I have read all 4 books about 4 or 5 times. I keep them on the book shelf and when ~~Hubby is watching Nascar~~ nothing good is on TV, I grab any one of the books and start reading.

I just finished rereading Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. I forget how FUNNY Jacob is and the 'soap opera' surrounding the wolves. I laugh, cry, and fall in love with the characters all over again. Sometimes I sympathize with Bella and sometimes I am completely annoyed with her. Sometimes I am totally 'Team Edward', other times I waiver and slip over to 'Team Jacob'.

Last November, a group of friends and I, went to the midnight showing of Twilight. It was a BLAST!! I had so much fun with my friends and enjoyed the movie...I had, had several Mojitos..but hay...I got to look at a pretty boy all night!!

While re watching the movie, I noticed how cheesy it was portrayed. Seriously lacking in the acting/directing department...I have watched it SEVERAL more times...just to see if I was being prejudices because I love the books so much. I am torn..not really sure!!

I hope that New Moon is better and I really hope that they can pull it off. It is so hard to recreate a 500 page book into a 1.5 hr movie. We all have our favorite scenes, and we picture the characters a certain way. We as a culture have LOVED Edward, Bella, and Jacob for so long...They have become part of our fantasy worlds....No one can ever turn our individual fantasies into real life movies....

I have no real point to this post...just blabbing about my addiction to Edward...oh, okay...The Twilight Saga....

It is 80 degrees....Isn't is cold in the rest of the world!?!? I hate that South Texas has no change of seasons!!

Why do I keep getting heartburn?? I really do not like it!! It really kind of hurts!!

I bought a new purse last week...but have not used it yet...and now I am short on cash flow and wondering if I should take it back???

I do not want to buy Christmas presents this year, would giving cash be wrong?? I am still really pissed at my family(GROWN AUNTS) and do not feel that I should have to invest my time and energy into getting them any gifts....

Wondering what to give my grandmother for Christmas...she has EVERYTHING, and if she doesn't have it, she has TONS of cash to go get it!!

So here goes....
Friday-- My sister and I went to Kmart to put a few Christmas Presents on Layaway...
While in line, there were two early twenties girls behind us with a toddler. The toddler SCREAMED the whole time. Neither of those girls did anything about the SCREAMING child in their cart.

Saturday-- We took a roadtrip to Victoria, which technically is only about 1.5 hours away...WELL...I got REALLY bad directions off of Google Map...We were going to a family reunion out in the middle of the country...3 HRS later when we finally arrived...my Mother-in-Law..shouts over the crowd, "WOW!! Alisha finally made it! Don't you know how to read a map??"

Same trip....Every time I turned around, my 7 yr old daughter said.."What? Wrong turn again?"
Is she still too young for me to call her a smart ass??

The Blog-o-verse is a VERY vast community!! Never again will a person feel alone or misunderstood. As long as you have access to a computer with internet, you can have any number of tips and expertise at your fingertips.

I especially like Blog Directories. Most of the directories that I am affiliated with separate the blogs into 'general' subjects. Yes, I know this can be confusing...I write about everything from cooking to depression, but most of my post are about dealing with day to day life while staying sane. I am jumping on the Band Wagon...The Mom Job, started a new weekly meme. I really LOVE the concept and I LOVE her blog...so I am jumping on!!

The idea is to share what you LOVE at the moment and something that you do not...Seeing as how I have an opinion on pretty much everything, I figured this would be a GREAT weekly post to share with all of you!!

Danskin Now - Women's Dri-More Bootcut Pants

These pants are $11.00. YEP!! Just 11 Bucks!! I have at least 3 pairs. They are my version of sweat pants. I wear them ALL the time!!

I rarely wear Blue Jeans...I am always too hot...in South Texas, it is ALWAYS hot and humid. I HATE to be HOT...so, I wear these pants when I haven't shaved in a week and am too embarrassed to wear shorts!! These pants hold up well to multiple washings and they do not fade as quickly as I thought they would. They are SUPER comfy and soft!! You just gotta go get you a pair!!

To complete the SAHM uniform, I pair these pants with an Old Navy Tee. The Old Navy Women's Perfect V-Neck Tees, are SUPER Soft and Light Weight. I am not sure what they do to their cotton, but their shirts feel like they have been well worn. I LOVE OLD NAVY T-Shirts!!

An item that does not rock?? Hummmmmm.......

Paperoni...1000's of TINY rolls of paper that you glue onto molds and such....NEED I SAY MORE....

Make-Up Junkie--In my opinion

I LOVE Make-Up and am addicted to purchasing make-up. In the past, I could be found at the department store make-up counters...You would NEVER find me buying drug store brands.....

As I have gotten older, and learned more about make-up, I have re-evaluated which products are essential and what is just fun....I have also learned where to splurge and where to save.

In my opinion, spend your money on the items that are closest to your face. Your moisturizers, serums, primers, and foundations.

Tell the sales lady exactly what your routine and budget en-tells...They should be able to write you out a skin care regime..

Wal-Mart --The individual prices are the lowest. Large selections, and MANY brands to choose from.
Target--Higher end brands, not as wide a selection per brand as Wal-Mart.

Big Lots is a really cool place to find all kids of discontinued colors and products.

E.L.F.....Eyes, Lips, Face...a great no frills make-up brand that you can find at your grocery store and online. I LOVE their eyelash curler and their fake lashes. They have a HUGE selection online and their make-up brushes are great!!

Wet-n-Wild...Yes that make-up you wore in junior high....They have great eyeshadow palettes. I also like their nail polishes. K-Mart has a huge selection of Wet-n-Wild products.

Uuuugh!! I have a cold!!

I am sooo mad!!

Why?? After working my butt off for two weeks, to get the house gorgeous for the birthday party, do I get a cold on the morning of the party!!!??

I woke up on Saturday with the worst allergy/cold stuffed up nose and puffy watering eyes!! It was horrible! Now, after taking LOTS of medicine, I feel worse! My throat hurts from coughing so much, and my nose is raw!!

Wow...do I sound like a whiney whinerson!!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week...

I am gonna work on getting all the Halloween decorations put away and I am gonna work on those last few piles of junk. I secretly hide all of the piles away under various tables and stuffed in closets.

Tomorrow LuvBug has UIL tryouts. She had her poem memorized about an hour after we got home from school.

Am I a BAD Mom??

My Children's school has a Trick-or-Treat Character Walk tomorrow. When LuvBug was in Pre-K I went with her...it was the WORST day of my life!! There were kids everywhere!! There were crazy parents and stressed out teachers. I hated every minute of it!!

Last year, LuvBug had to stay home from the Character Walk field trip. She had just had her tonsils out...Ohhhhh, I was sooooo happy!!!

Okay, now I have TWO kids and two Character Walks to go-on. I really do not want to!!! I will go on each and every other field trip. I will hold up stinky fish, I will walk through the same boring exhibits at the museum, and I will participate in the Fall Festival. I will purchase the highly overpriced fundraiser chocolate. I will donate my last two cents to the PTO. I will send both teachers the most awesome Christmas presents ever.....BUT PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ME GO ON THE Character Walk!!!!

How bad of a stay at home mom am I???

Hopefully it will rain all day tomorrow and then HA!! the kids wont be able to walk all over down town??!!

I will let you know if I chickened out of my Stand on NOT GOING.....

I'm TIRED!!!

I am sooooo tired!!!

I have been steadily purging, organizing, and cleaning my entire house. I started with the Kitchen, Dining, and Living Room (one huge great room). That was a good ~~three~~ maybe four days, but I still do not feel like it is finished. I still have a few piles. Those piles are so annoying!! I was trying to move the piles to my bedroom, but I do not have anymore room in there...That room needs a major purge!!

I really have a new appreciation for minimalists. I am not sure how the hell they do it...or even professional organizers. I find it absolutely exhausting trying to decide where to put what or if I will ever need/use an item again.

I think one of my main problems is that we do not have adequate closet/storage space. When we bought our house, we were DIRT poor and our house was plenty big enough for the two of us...We always thought that we would build a garage. Our yard is huge...we could build another house back there. But we are still not rolling in the dough. We have money...do not get me wrong...just not enough to start major renovations.

Yesterday I emptied my sons room and threw away 3 lawn sized garbage bags away full of crap!! I HATE McDonald's...CuddleBug is a 'collector' and ohhhh, he had all of those freaking toys!!! With LuvBug, I can throw that stuff away quickly and she could care less...Ohhhhh, but not with CuddleBug. He knows exactly what he has at all times!! He is a lot like his Dad....They could do an entire episode of Hoarders on those two!!! I am the shopper and they are the HOARDERS!!! Not a good combination!!

So now I am trying to eliminate those last few piles and find more storage spaces....

Do any of you use those space safer vacuum bags??? Do they really work? Where do you find secret storage places in your house??

Kitchen Help: Pumpkin Rolls

Every year, during the Holidays, my sister-in-law makes the MOST wonderful desserts...They are soooo good, I just want to hit her!! How can she produce such great desserts, keep her house spotless, never raise her voice, and still have time raise 3 kids?? REALLY I WANNA KNOW the secret!!!

Last year she made Pumpkin Rolls. They were to die for YUMMY!!

I want to attempt baking them this year! (She never makes the same dessert)

Here is the recipe that she uses. I would like to pick YOUR brains for any tips and tricks that I could use to make these flawlessly.

Thank you VERY MUCH!!

Ingredients:

3 eggs
1 cup white sugar
2/3 cup canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

In a mixing bowl, beat eggs on high for 5 minutes. Gradually beat in white sugar until thick and lemon-colored. Add pumpkin and lemon juice.

In another bowl combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg; fold into the pumpkin mixture.

Grease a 15×10×1 inch baking pan; line with waxed paper. Grease and flour the paper. Spread batter into pan; sprinkle with walnuts.

Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 15 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
Immediately turn out onto a linen towel dusted with confectioners’ sugar. Peel off paper and roll cake up in the towel, starting with the short end. Cool.

Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, butter, and vanilla until fluffy.

Carefully unroll the cake. Spread filling over cake to within 1 inch of edges. Roll up again. Cover and chill until serving. Dust with additional confectioners’ sugar, if desired.

Who is this Boy??

My son has come out of his shell and is completely different than who he was before school started.

In some aspects I am EXTREMELY happy, however...I am a little sad

For the last two years I have worked with him daily on Counting and doing his Alphabet. He would NEVER 'perform' for me. He was never a ham or a show off. I use to think that he was very reserved and kinda shy.

Ooooh, But Not Now!!! Since starting Kindergarten, he has broken out of his shell and he has turned into a BIG HAM!!!

I am amazed at this new big bold personality. Everyday he shows me something new and can not wait to 'perform'.

Since school started, we have had 1 to 2 Birthday Parties a week. Yep!! That is a lot!!!

For each one I have respectfully RSVP'ed. I have purchased the $10.00 toy and dragged my butt to Chuck-e-Cheese, the Bowling Alley, or McDonald's.
Not a lot of choices here.

Now, it is time for my daughter's party. Have any of these parents RSVP'ed?? NOPE!! Today at the Bowling Alley Party, I went around to the parents and asked..."So are you coming to LuvBug's Halloween Party?" Do you know how silly I felt?? Pretty Silly!! One parent said, "Oh, Yeah...I told my daughter to tell your daughter that we would not be able to attend." REALLY!! Your 6 yr. old is gonna relay the message to my 6 year old?? LuvBug can not even remember what she ate for breakfast, but you expect her to remember so & so would not be coming!!

And on the same topic...

At the beginning of the Birthday planning...I asked Dear Hubby what we should do...He said whatever you want...YOU decide.

So I flip-flopped on having the party at the house or at a room rental place. I decided the room rental place, because I am BUSTING my hump to get the house clean and orderly...I do not want it to get all messed up, and the room rental place has chairs and tables.

Last night Dear Hubby starts asking questions about the party. I tell him a few details and he asks why, why there, why not here or at the park. Then he says there is nothing to do at the room rental place. REALLY...Thought this was up to me!!!! I was soooooooooooo PISSED!!!!
So, I say.."FINE, we will have it at the house!" Then today he sends a text and says...it's okay at the room rental place!! Well, Thanks Buddy, but it is too late!! I had to pay the deposit by noon!!!!

CuddleBug is gonna have a simple Cake and Ice cream Bowling Party!! Boom-Boom, in and out, 2 hours and we are done!!

I would have done that for LuvBug, but she BEGGED for a Halloween party!! Damned October Birthdays!!

Making a MESS!!!!

Why is it when you are trying to clean...You make a BIG HUGE mess first???

I have piles all over my living room and dining room. I have thrown away two "lawn & garden" sized bags full of crap. Coloring books that have been colored, broken crayons, dried out markers, old magazines, junk mail, and LOTS of other CRAP. How do we accumulate so much crap?? I have a basket full of notecards....I barely mail my bills, let alone get a note in the mail. I send birthday invites over the internet. What do I do with at least $30-40 worth of note cards?? Do I continue to save them, thinking that one day I will use them?? Or do I purge them??

My sister came over again today...she is keeping me motivated. She sat on her butt and read magazines. She did help occasionally. It was fun though, whenever I started to fade, she would say "Come on!! Get to that pile next!" She ended up taking a bag full of goodies.

Tomorrow I am taking her to breakfast, and then I am trapping her in a corner with HUGE baskets of unfolded laundry!!! Hahahaha

The strangest thing about cleaning out EVERY nook and cranny...I have found tons of repeat purchases and never used presents, gifts, and such...

Here are some STRANGE Stats
-3 Brand New Photo Albums
-3 Computer Mice
-14 Packs of Crayons
-2 5 subject Notebooks
-3 crates of picture frames--I full of used and 2 of never used!!

Really Bad Find...
Luv Bug's Kinder Portaraits....Never even opened them!! No one got one!!

To fill the 3 crates of picture frames, I have at least 4 HUGE totes of pictures. I guess I could also fill up those 3 photo albums!!

To justify the crayons...They were only 25 cents at Wal-Mart. I just HAD to stock up!!

Driving me crazy!!!

How am I suppose to get rid of the clutter, if my sweet husband doesn't stop taking stuff out of the trash?? He is driving me crazy!!

Apparently, I threw away his $1.99 Thesaurus...In the 11 years that we have been married, I have never seen him use it!!
He is driving me crazy!!

9 years ago, I purchased a HUGE computer desk from Wal-Mart for $100.00. It was particle-board, and tons of strange shaped cubbyholes and lots of unusable space. I had moved it around so many times that there was TONS of Monkey Glue and metal straps holding it together. Today my sister and I threw it outside. DH came home from work and was asking why???? Really!!! WHY???
He is driving me crazy!!!

Today my sister and I moved the living room furniture around.....I have a VERY strange shaped living room. It is VERY long and kinda narrow. There is a strange shaped alcove on a half wall that shares the kitchen...I have tried to put every piece of furniture I own in this alcove. Nothing has ever worked. So I put the TV in the alcove and made a horseshoe shape out of the couches. DH is not sure if he likes it because his spot on the couch is at a slight angle to the TV. OH MY GOD!! REALLY!!!
He is driving me crazy!!!

While moving all of the furniture around, I did not put stuff away. I want to throw most of it out and them find homes for the remaining crap. I really wanna purge!! DH was was asking one million questions about all of the piles, "What are you gonna do with that box of pictures?" "Where are you gonna put the photo albums?" I DO NOT KNOW!! I am gonna throw it all away!!
He is driving me crazy!!

Remember when you were a kid and you had to clean your room.....Your mom would say "Okay, now all of the Barbies in the pink bucket!"

Wasn't that soooo easy!! Everything was laid out, you just had to follow directions.

Well, I may have found a BLOG to help me get over my house keeping slump....Have you visited I'm an Organizing Junkie?

I have been to her site in the past looking at the Menu Plan Monday Linky. But, I had never gone much deeper into her blog...Silly Me!!! I think she could put Martha Stewart to shame....I am really impressed with how she explains the organizational PROCESS. I have copied a little bit of it below...
