A great card at Aintree and Paul Nicholls has claims in all three of the big races, but his best chance could come in the Beecher with Mr Appointment. This one is going for back to back victories in the race and is only seven pounds higher than last season. Paul can also land the big race at Navan with Officier De Reserve. He returned with a smooth success over hurdles and if his jumping holds up he should go close. Smart bumper winner Honest John is our other selection at Liverpool. Tom Tate's jumpers are in good form and this son of Alzao will know what's required.

Nobody won the jackpot yesterday and I was knowwhere near. It looks a little easier today so here we go. The opener is a bit tricky, Little Shilling, Catline, Great Compton and Storm Haven are the 4 against the field. In the 1.30 Beau Torero is the selection. He landed this race last season and comes here fit from the flat, Silvergino could be the main danger. Starluck and Latterley are the choices in the 2.00 In the 2.30 Scots Dragoon and Backbord are the obvious 2. The 3.00 is another toughie and Salhood, Leopold, Dont Ask Me and Good Old Days all have claims. Rawdon in the last is our best bet of the day. He was given an easy time on his return after being well backed. He is on a very fair mark and being relatively lightly raced, is open to more improvement. So the perm is 4 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 4 x 1. 128 bets at 10p... wish me luck.

But back for the start of the week. A big jackpot at Kempton today and so we have had a good look. The first race is very hard, with Supernouvere, Knock Three times and Dougie Peel three in with a chance. Mystic Art is our choice in the 2.10. Two very good efforts recently and looks on a decent mark. Another Mystic in the 2.40, Mystic Storm. Hasn't shown much this season but is dropping down the weights and is well in on best form. Princess Cagliari and Hillside Lad are two with claims in the 3.10 In the 3.40 Mutasb and River Kirov are our two against the field. In the 4.10 Dark Camilla and Ten Pole Tudor look set to run well.

On to Monday and Iwillrememeberyou in the 2.25 at Carlisle is our first choice. He is making his chase and seasonal debut this afternoon, but was rated 132 over hurdles and has no problem with the heavy ground. There are doubts about his main rivals on the going and so he could be the value. Akilak in the 2.55 must have a chance off this mark He is rated 133 over hurdles and did start well over fences.However he lost his confidence after making mistakes in subsequent races. If over that and back to his best he would easily beat these.

But we hope to find some winners today. At Kempton in the 5.30 King's Icon is down to a very nice mark. When with Marcus Tregoning, he was rated in the mid-eighties. Michael Wigham part owns this one and they have got his mark down in the 50's. There is definitely a coup in the offing and it could be today. At Hereford there could be a double for Alan Swinbank. He runs recent flat winner Ozone Trustee in the 1.40. A rare jumps runner for Bill Gredley and this 82 rated flat horse has been given a decn opening. Alan's second runner is Alto Stratus in the 3.40. She returns to hurdling after a spill last time out and she doesn'tn look badly treated.

So have concentrated on Doncaster and the first is Bryan Smart's Sadeek in the 12.25. He held on gamely last time out despite the saddle slipping and is open to plenty of improvement. In the feature at 3.10 Greek Envoy could go well at a decent price. He has dropped down below his last winning mark and ground and trip are ideal.

In the 1.40 According To Dick is expected to make a winning hurdles debut. Very highly thought of by the stable, he won a bumper at Cheltenham in great style and the fact that he goes hurdling so quickly is a tip in itself. One selection from Southwell, Another Try in the opener. Alan Javis's gelding shaped nicely on debut after a slow start and can only iomprove.

Have to continue working and doing this blog. Our first choice today is Kerayasi in the 1.30 at Plumpton. Gary Moore's charge ran well behind a couple of decent types on final hurdles run last season and has since shown great form on the flat. In the 2.00 Alderluck is an interesting runner. He landed a couple of decent bumpers and this ground and trip should be ideal for hurdling debut. In the last at Warwick Flirtatious is of real interest. She was backed for her debut but sweated up and never got in a blow. They have obviously been patient and this well bred type may do much better thuis season.

And so we have concentrated on this meeting. In the opener Puerto Azul is the selection. He is highly regarded by the yard and having just failed to stay 2 miles in bumpers today's trip could be ideal over hurdles. The 1.50 is a very poor race and Ours looks the obvious choice. In the 2.20 we are stuck between Soulard, Dont Tell The Wife and Lake Legend. In the 2.50 Hold Em looks the best bet. He was a very good hurdler and will no doubt have been well schooled by his astute trainer. Another tough race at 3.25 with Benetwood and Majorca our two selections. We finish with a nightmare of a race. I dismissed the bottom eight with little hesitation, the topweight North Walk is the obvious form horse, but I dont like backing horses with more that 12 stone. So in the end I was stuck between Mount Usher, Mucho Loco and Upright Ima.

A lot to look at, but we are concentrating on Wetherby. Paul Nicholls is always worth watching on a week-end and he could land a double with Mobaasher in the 3.00 and Turko in the 3.35. Both got a very good mention in the stable tour and Mobaasher's long term target is the World Hurdle. He ended last season on a high and can only improve. Turko puts in the odd dodgy jump but on his day he is very capable. In the 1.35 at Ascot Sentry Duty is our hopeful selection. A decent flat performer, he looked a star in the making over hurdles, but was a little disappointing after a smooth debut win over subsequent Triumph hurdle winner. However a mark of 134 looks very fair if he is back to his best.

A good start to the week, let's keep it going. Lookafternumberone is the first choice in the 2.10 at Yarmouth. James Given's charge is a model of consistencty and wasn't beaten far in a better race than this last time out. Daniel Defoe in the 3.10 is our second choice. Stoute's juveniles have hit form and this Derby entry will not have to be too special to win first time out.

But a poor run at present. We will try and turn it around this monday. At Leopardstown Rayeni could go close in the group three at 1.25. The trainer has his best bunch of juveniles for some years and following an impressive debut this son of Indian ridge can follow up today. In the opener at Leicester Bounty Box looks to have the best form on show. She finished fourth in a strong maiden at Newmarket last time and the horses that finished around her are rated in the mid-eighties. That sort of rating should be good enough to land arace of this nature.

He would have won with a bit more bottle, but nevermind it is national hunt time today. Old favourite Voy Por Ustedes has landed us some decent money and he should have the class to give weight away and a beating to his 11 rivals in the 3.15 at Aintree. In the opener On Raglan Road will be a short price but looks a top notch hurdler in the making. In the 1.35 we like the chances of Leac An Scail. Sue Smith's gelding is proven over this trip, likes the ground and is a on a decent enough mark.

Haven't had much time today but a quick couple of selections. In the breeders cup Square Eddie is the selection in the 8.55. He was sold prior to his impressive victory at Keeneland and the owner is very confident. Enact in the 3.55 at Newbury should also go well. Ran green on debut but was still a decent winner and can take this step up in class.

Let's see if we can keep it going on Tuesday. Our main hope today is Sand Cat in the 4.00 at Lingfield. Earlier this year Gary Moore's charge was rated in the eighties. He has run some decent races recently but isn't too consistent, and so his rating has kept on dropping. He should be capable of wiining off this mark. Straw Bear looks a good thing in the 3.10 at Exeter. A top class hurdler he will have been well schooled by his in form handler. One from Yarmouth as well, Midnight Fantasy in the 2.50. She showed improved form last time out to chase home a well bred newcomer and there could be more to come.

But we hope to start the week with acouple of winners. I looked at Bergo yesterday and thought we might get a decent price ior this one in the 2.20 at Plumpton. But Mark Winstanley has selected this one in the post. He says everything really, a four time winner on the flat in very good company and the stabel are flying at present. Khelef's Silver in the opener at Windsor is one that deserves avictory. Bryan Smart's charge has just been beaten in decent maidens on her last two starts and this doesn't look a strong event.

Jumping is the name of the game..

We are concentrating on the national hunt today with a couple from a great card at Kempton. There is a strong word for Saticon in the 2.2o race. Alan King's gelding was a top performer in France and if you can get 33/1 about this one for the Triumph it may prove good value at around 2.30. Tramantano in the 4.00 is our second selection. He ran well in some hard races last season, but he goes best when fresh and doesn't look badly treated today. Just one choice from Southwell Giant Love in the 3.15. We gave this one at the start of the season and he let us down. We missed him when an easy winner at Newcastle recently. He does seem to be a bit of character, but if putting it all in today he could go close.

In the Ces at 3.50 we do like the look of Liberate. Phillip Hobbs has a good recent record in the event and the selection improved over hurdles and could have got in here on a fair mark. In the Rockfel at 4.25 Sir Michael's Purissima is the selection. She was very impressive on debut, despite running green and will come on a bundle. In the 4.00 at Cheltenham Strong Rebel could go well. He was impressive in apoit to point last season and landed his bumper in good style. The fact that the trainer pitches him straight into a hurdle suggests he could be decent.

We have a couple of hopeful runners today. Kiwi Moon in the 1.40 at Leicester coul;d go well at a big price. Bryan Smart has high hopes for this son of Nayef and having run very green on debut he should improve leaps and bounds. In the 2.10 King's Song is an interesting newcomer. He is bred to get a lot further, but this is a stiff seven furlongs for a juvenile and he may be up to winning first time out.

There is an interestinng runner in the 2.40 at Kempton, Tom Dascombe's Going Going Gone. He is quite nicely bred and was quietly fancied on debut. However he reared in the stalls and never had a chance. It was asimilar story on his second outing and today he has the headgear. If it does the trick he could go well at big odds. In the 3.10 race Lake Windermere could have got in here on a fair mark for her handicap debut having won her maiden in good style.

Three meetings in the UK but the best bet seems to be at Limerick. Paul Nicholls sends out Dear Villez in the Munster National at 4.15. The six-year-old made a bit of a dodgy start to his chasing career, but improved leaps and bounds and could be even better this season. Cold Quest is an interesting runner in the 3.20 at Bath. He looked a top class juvenile but then something went amiss. He has been gelded and if that brings him back to his best he will be hard to beat. Capucci in the 3.45 at Goodwood is our third choice. John Gosden's charge has disappointed on his last two runs, but his previous victory was gained in good style and if settling better could go in again.

A couple of selections today, the first is Kite Wood in the 3.30 at Ascot. He is veryu highly thought of and already hads a 16/1 quote for next year's Derby. He won well last time out and more improvement should follow. In the 4.05 Ladies Best could be on the way back. He has lost his way a little since moving to Cumani but ran a decent race last time out and would go close on his best form.

A couple of placed efforts to start the week, let's do better today. the first choice is Chantilly Dancer in the 3.00 at Catterrick. Mark Wallace's charge ran well on her turf debut but disappointed on soft last time out. With ground back in her favour she can go close on her handicap debut. If Spirit Of Adjisa can overcome a wide draw he could go close in the 5.00. He wasn't beaten far in a better race at Goodwood last time and is two pound lower.

Bread and butter stuff today, but we do like a couple at Pontefract. The first is Big Apple Boy in the 2.40. Jedd O'Keeffe's colt was an impressive winner over course and distance last time out and doesn't look harshly treated for handicap debut. In the 5.10 Etosha is an interesting runner. This superbl;y bred colt has had a few training problems but if sound he could go close in what looks a fairly weak affair.
