Lately;

i've been leaving comments and even testimonials on Flickr,
Of the sort that starts off reassuring the recipient that i really like their work... But.

So i was doing this yesterday, and this guy that was administering this group...
It turns out - Reluctantly - for his sister that skedaddled off from Flickr to sell her handmade cards, got one of my missives.

Before she left, she indolently started a group that she called Handmade Cards.
But she didn't really 'Set it up' at all...
It didn't even have a Group Icon...!!!

So that's what i was principally whining about.
The Missing Icon.

So this guy; The Reluctant Administrator, Made me an Administrator!
And i promptly made just about everyone else in the group an Administrator,
Because that's my philosophy for Flickr Groups.
If you 'Get It'; Then you should be promoted to Administrative Status.

i belonged to another group awhile ago,
That was - Not - a Serious Group, and it made EVERYONE an Administrator,
And one of them deleted everyones pictures.

So it is Dangerous.

So i draw the line on whether or not, they 'Get it'...!

Anyways...

Another Probe Doesn't Look for Life...!!!

It just seems completely crazy to me that NASA keeps sending probes to Mars that are very specifically designed NOT TO LOOK FOR LIFE...!!!

On those occasions when they are supposed to be looking for Life,
The Experiments are Carefully Contrived to Almost Look for Life...!!!
So that; After the test it done, they can say;
“Well; Maybe, Maybe Not.”

Ugh!

Why not put a Microscopic Lens Attachment onto one of The Cameras,
Scoop up a soil sample,
Add several recipes of various enriched nutrients into several little cups,
Warm them up a bit,
Then put some drops from these cups onto some Slides...

AND LOOK AT THE DANG THINGS...!!!

If something is wiggling around.
Wouldn't that be interesting.

i am really coming to believe, as Richard Hoagland apparently does,
That there is something very fishy going on at NASA.

Why would they want to keep it so ambiguous...
And why does NASA play down all The Amazing Images that the orbital probes send back to us...???

Is that the new pictures make it fairly clear that it doesn't really look much like a face...

But it sure as heck doesn't get much press.

Another News Story that is Driving Me Crazy!

Man gives birth to baby girl

It's not a man...!!!
It's a woman that's ostensibly become a man in appearance only...!!!

i fully expect that a real, biologically male person will give birth sometime in the near future,
if it hasn't happened already,
but this isn't it.

It's actually my understanding that you could take a fertilized human embryo and just implant it anywhere in the body of any man or woman,
It would parasitically implant itself, and begin to grow into a baby.
Typically when this happens in women—
When the fertilized eggs doesn't make into the uterus,
Or actually falls away from the fallopian tubes,
Implanting itself somewhere in her abdominal cavity,
There are complications that prevent the baby from coming to term...

But given that the biology of the process really doesn't need a uterus,
It seems likely that a reasonably comfortably spot could be artificially laid out inside a male somewhere to accommodate a baby for at least the 5 months or so that medical science currently requires for the baby to spend inside a human host.

Another Slopeheaded Y-Generation Amateur Model
Claimed that she was proud to be an American
Because she was Free
& As Evidence for this,
She Could Vote!

There are several different direction to go from this;
Principally that it's all a scam,
On every level, from every direction...

But i would like to Propose; Instead:
A Thought/Real/Proposed Experiment.

This might be conducted by a History Professor...

Get your Least Favorite Graduate Students to Examine all The President's Legacies,
And rather fuzzily—
List all their accomplishments, policies, exploits, fiascoes & such...

—So that even The Unbiased Jury that is chosen to examine these lists,
Will not be tipped off by Obvious, or Blatantly Overly Promoted History Fallacies.

Then present this list of lists,
To a foreign historian or political analyst,
Or several of them,
And ask them to determine what the ideological foundation
Or political party of the president was
That represented all these achievements & travesties...?

i predict that their identifications will be no better than chance.

Not only is our political system rigged
So that Any Modestly Financed, Independent Scholars
That might actually make a decent president,
Simply Can Never become President,

But it's also rigged that your votes don't count for squat,

But we don't even have a so-called Two Party System.

We have One Party;
The Mysterious Shadow Government.

A Totalitarian Dictatorship
That has to constantly tell you that you're free.

But; i can not find any information on ANYONE ( hardly anyone* )
That i've been searching for from my various yearbooks.

What i find—
Very Curious; Is that i'll type in what i think MUST BE a very common name,

And there are NONE..!!!

i just can not get my Head around the idea that many of my classmates

Right upstairs there's this guy ( or brothers ) named Mean...
And Jim ( below me ) was saying that there's two brothers that live there,
But i ran into one of them ( 2nd time in 3 years, first conversation, if you want to call it that; it consisted of me blathering a bit, and him saying; ‘I'm the only one that lives there.’ )
So he says, after i suggest my hypothesis that of the two brothers, one is nearly deaf, and the other has normal hearing, and he says: “I'm the only one that lives there.”

i can just hardly believe that Jim has been filling me with disinformation,
Even though he is very crazy...???

But the other thing— This Mean guy seems VERY crazy to me.
Way crazier than either me or Jim.

i'll have to talk to Jim about this.
He hangs around the front door just about all the time,
And knows everything about everything.

Entropy

One of my grand Pet Peeves ( Bête Noires ) is the idea of Entropy.

i just don't believe that there is such a thing.

One major problem that i have with it is, Is that it's often defined in terms of 'Order',
And when you go to the dictionary and look up what Order really means—
Each Definition requires a Subjective Observer to come in and declare what is Orderly or DisOrderly.
There's no Objective Criteria for Knowing if Something is Orderly or Not.

One Potential Definition for Orderly is whether or not you can -Compress- the Information in a Particular -Thing- into a smaller Set, And retain all the original information.

If you can do this; Then you're exploiting a facet of the original systems order.

The problem with this is that there are many cases in which by all appearances,
Something may seen very, very disorderly, Completely random--
And yet; There may well be a PseudoRandom Number Generator that can reproduce that system,
And as evidence that this is almost certainly possible—
It is quite easy to make any number of PseudoRandom Number Generators that will produce 'Other' seeming Random sets that display all the artifacts and apparent patterns or lack of patterns, as the original set.

But i was just thinking of a Case Explanation this morning...

Take the case of The Egg that is pushed off the table,
And Entropy allegedly causes The Egg to break,
And become a Broken Egg.

These are just labels that we attach to things
So that we can more easily identify things for no good reason.

The Universe;
Looking down upon us, and seeing The Egg or Broken Egg
Just sees different States that The Atoms in The Egg have arranged themselves into.

The Universe doesn't really make a Qualitative Distinction Between
The Egg & The Broken Egg.
They are essentially The Same to The Universe.
They are just Arrangements of Atoms.

Another way to see this is to think of Eskimos.
They are supposed to have 147 words for Yellow Snow...
Depending upon the time of day,
or how yellow it is,
or if it's sweet or too sweet,
or if it's a little bloody
or if semen is mixed in with it...
Each particular case has a distinct word,
And many of them don't even sound at all alike.

So with Our Egg Example.
We have a Word or Technical Description for The Egg,
And another Technical Description for The Broken Egg.

But if you take The Broken Egg,
Scoop it up and set in back on The Table And push it back off,
It will have inflicted into it,
All the Energy and Kinetic Force that The Egg Endured on it's first Trip down...
But We don't really have a Term for Broken Broken Egg,
Even though it will have twice the amount of Disorder ( So Entropy Claims ) as The Simple Broken Egg.

Each time you redrop The Egg,
It's going to CHANGE again,
And while it may never again resemble The Egg,
It will no more resemble The First Tier Broken Egg Either...!

The Distinction that we make between The First Tier Broken Egg
And The 20th Tier Broken Egg
Will; According to the limits of our language,
And The Observational Limits of The Way that Western Civilization has taught us to See Things, Will forever limit our ability to See The Distinctions between The 1st & 20th Tiers of Broken Egginess.

All The While;
The Universe isn't seeing Order or Disorder at all,
It's just seeing Different Atomic Arrangements.

It not making Value Judgments at any Itineration.

i'm fine with The Platypus having both Mammalian & Reptilian Roots from the Evolutionary Tree, But how could they have Bird DNA...???
Birds are supposed to have evolved from Dinosaurs, 300 million years after Mammals split from Reptiles, and from about time, The line that eventually gave rise to Modern Platypii.

This is The Smoking PopGun which proves that Animals must have been designed by an External Designer that was able to assemble a Platypus from DNA that was laying around the studio.

Nightmares

i didn't use to have nightmares at all, But now i'm starting to have them all the time.

A Variation on Nightmares that i used to have, rarely— Was a Loop Dream in which i would dream a short 15 second segment of something, usually a piece of trying to solve a puzzle, and then i would dream it again, verbatim, again & again.
And if i woke up, i would try to shake it off, But as soon as i fell asleep again, the loop would start again.

This last one was; As much as i can remember of it...
i was hired as a technical writer for a large electronic research company.
When i got to the town where i'd be working, they took me to an apartment that they'd found for me. It was small but i thought it was OK. i put down my stuff, met a lady administrator or secretary that worked for the company and a fat engineer that was nice but flaky.
They'd left out a large cup of coffee for me, but it was cold. The lady suggested that we go over to the cafeteria to get it refilled, so i went with her. For some reason, i left everything behind, including my key and bookbag, which i usually take Everywhere.
When we got to the cafeteria, there was some confusion about whether or not i would have to pay. The lady started giving me this very long lecture on whether i would or not, and it became so frustrating that i turned to a guy sitting at a table to ask him. This might be where i met the fat guy...??? His answer was no more enlightening, so i left to go back to my apartment to get some money.

The Cafeteria was around the corner from where i lived, and the reverse path would take me down a alley, but i walked too far and after a few blocks and seeing some things that i was sure i would have remember seeing, but didn't, i was sure that i'd walked to far.
When i turned around, i discovered that i was on the other side of a fence, and i couldn't go back. The path had turned into a very, very narrow ledge above a very deep gorge.
Fortunately; i could get back to the alley by crawling through a hole, through a railing and back to the other side.
On the way back, i ran into several more obstacles, including at least two places where the alley just seemed to change into something else...

[ i seem to recall ( now ) that i had a dream with a similar theme a week or two ago ]

...despite these minor obstacles, i managed to get back to the alley each time.
Then i ran into the guy that i'd met earlier.
He offered to give me something, but i was unsure of what it was until he pulled it out of his bookbag. It was an yellow shipping envelope with two CD's in it. One was much bigger than the other, and irregularly shaped. And they were very Thick & Orange with a checkered pattern on them. i was impressed with the design, since apparently he'd done them himself.
i wanted him to walk me back to my room, but he stayed with some friends of his that there there, so he didn't.

Then i found what i thought was my room, but the ceiling was impossibly low, so i had to crouch over to crab around. It looked similar to how i remembered seeing my room earlier than afternoon, but now it was filthy and all my stuff was missing, except for one of the three keys that i'd seen earlier.

Then some crazy police officers arrived and discovered that the CD's were cases with pot in them. i volunteered to take a blood test to prove i didn't smoke pot. i also tried to explain that i was looking for my room, and this was similar, but i was sure it wasn't it. But they wouldn't let me go to find it. It was getting dark and i really wanted to leave, but they wouldn't let me go, or arrest me.

There were lots more details that i remember, but are too tedious to include.

It was one of those very vivid dreams. Where do they come from.

Words that Aren't Quite Words...

i went online again today to find a word that my Franklin & Macintosh Dictionaries refused to consider a real word...
i've done this before; and have gotten several hits on Google, suggesting that there are countless other people that consider these words real words, and given that words come from usage and not authority, i take any confirmation of them as validation.

Todays Word: Befret. Apparently it is likely that this is a distortion of Bereft. Since they are used in the same sense.

Another Example: Insundry or Asundry. Sundry is a real word and All & Sundry is a common aphorism, Such that the Contraction of All & Sundry should easily be A'sundry or Asundry.
Insundry is close enough. After all; You know what i mean... Don't you?

Irregardless is in such wide usage that i don't see how anyone can argue about it anymore.

Indescript is essentially the same as NonDescript, which means Not Noteworthy.

i would very much like a Dictionary that keeps up with the usage of words on the internet, which is pretty close to the actual usage of words in The Spoken Form.
Dictionaries have always lagged behind Actual Usage, and all i want to see is that this is recognized.

The other day i was coming home from Safeway and met my floormate; Elaine on the bus.
When we got off the bus, The bus stopped in the middle of the block due to traffic, And Elaine headed toward the corner to cross at the light...
But i went the other way, the shorter way, and when i noticed that the traffic had cleared in both directions, i crossed in the middle of the block.
So when i got to my building, Jim was standing out in front and the first thing he asked me was if i J-Walked across Monroe...!!!
He couldn't possibly have seen me, and this was a very odd question for him to ask.

The Blogger HTML seems to be subtly, or not so very much, different from Text Edit HTML...???

Standardized Big Text

Any attempt to modify the Bigger Text HTML to make it bigger seems to fail...???
It appears gigantic in the edit window, but is reduced to normal size when posted...!

ALSO; The Format of HTML seems to be greatly simplified, like the HTML used by Flickr...???

So i left my room to go to the library today, to use the internet there...
It seems that none of the internet provider servers that i've been using for Free from my room will work anymore...!!!

i really have to get my own service provider... But if i do, i know i'll end up spending all day on the internet, and as it is, i'm actually getting a tiny amount done on other projects, and i'm forced to get out of my room a few times a week this way too...

But anyways; When i left my room today, i took out a bag of garbage, and when i'd gotten about a block from my building, i realized that i was still holding the bag...!!!

Senility, it doesn't seem to be as bad as i've heard it would be.

Something Odd...

i noticed the other day on my Flickr account that this Map Dealie; provided by Flickr Toys, Showed a collection of islands above Europe that i was completely unfamiliar with...???

Apparently they're a part of Norway; called Svalbard.
i have never noticed them before...
They are much higher than Iceland, which i had always thought of as the highest landmass in The Atlantic...

So to compound this;
Since just learning of them a few days ago;
i keep coming across new references to them...

Such as this New Reptilian Dinosaur...!

It's like reality is just making itself up as it goes along.

And this sort of thing is happening to me all the time...

i think it's evidence that The Reality Generator that creates my existence is not really very clever and once it comes up with something good—
It just recycles it over and over for awhile; And then, in a week or so; It will stop reminding me that this Island Group exists, and i'll never see any references to it ever again.

i simply want to create a document on a simple word processor, with some colored text and italics and bolds and so on... Maybe with some tab setting...

But the moment that i do, it's all striped down to raw text...!!!

Well— i was sure that i'd saved all the old links that appeared on The Side Bar of my old Blog Template...
But Incredibly; ( or not incredibly ) i have misplaced or lost them...!!!

i'm fairly sure that most of them may be recovered by tediously sifting through my eepmail archives to find various connective links to mailartists and such, but it may be awhile before a suitably puisant bipolar swing allows me to accomplish this...???

i've also realized that all ( or most ) of my posts were colorized in a manner that highlighted various features, pursuant to the old colour scheme, but will now have to be recalibrated...
