Until the beginning of the second half of the 20th century, there was not much to be considered interesting in racing cars. That's when the presently designated name Momo Corse stepped in with a refreshing change in racing car steering wheels. The first innovation in these lines was experienced by professional racer John Surtees on his Ferrari when his friend and the creator of the company Gianpiero Moretti designed a unique steering wheel that helped Surtees win the 1964 F1 World Championship.

With this pleasant revelation came some busy days for Moretti, who planted the seed for his successful stint as a creator of revolutionary car accessories for racing cars and others as well. After attaining moderate success in the initial days, Moretti went on to bring variety in steering wheels and finally rechristened his organisation into Momo Corse in 1993.

The roadway to the new millennium saw the proliferation of the Italian company's attention into other car accessories as well.
