It was so good to get back to stamping today, well at least trying to stamp again. I can tell that I have been out of it since this one simple card took me a long time. I started off with just a few colors, then I added another, changed the card base a few times etc. It was even adhered on during all of this. I don't know what I was thinking. Hopefully my brain will be with me the next time I get to stamp.

This card sketch came from Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I think this is my second time being able to do her challenge since she has been back from the summer. Thanks Beate for the great challenges and inspiration.

The card base is Basic Black, layred with some More Mustard and Kiwi Kiss. The panels are done with the Ghostly Greetings DSP as well as the More Mustard DSP. layered on top of Whisper Whte CS.

I stamped the image from Batty For You in Kiwi Kiss on Whisper White, and then again with Basic Black on Pumpkin Pie. I punched them out with the 1" and 1 3/8" and then layered it on a piece of Basic Black Scallop Circle. This is adhered with my fave, stampin dimentionals. The card still looked to basic so I added some ribbon!

MIA in UT

Hey there ladies. I thought I would just share with you that I will be MIA for a little longer. I had sugery the other day that put me on rest for that day. However, I ended up passing out, in an ambulance and in the ER for about six hours. It took the doctors about five hours to realize that I was bleeding internally from my surgery. So they kept me at the hospital until 8 pm Monday night. It was so nice to come home and sleep in my own bed. I have to be on bed rest until next week when I have recovered completly. I just have to thank all of my family and friends that are helping me with my daughter and making us dinner. And thanks to my hubby for brining home his extra laptop so I can try to keep in touch!!

Warm Wishes-Flower Tutorial

As I stated in the previous post, I wasn't completly in love with the card that I made this morning. So I figured to give it another go! This time I like how things turned out. I also wanted to try and make another card for today's Limited Supplies Challenge. But I got carried away and forgot and ended up using my crimper. So sorry for the extra tool that I used.

The card base is Chocolate Chip standard size. The Kiwi Kiss is 4" x 3 3/4." I ran this through my crimper. I just pulled my flower off of my previous card. But below I will be showing in more details how I made the flower...for those of you that don't have access to Stampin Success.

Step 1: Punch out a piece of DSP or CS with the small tag punch
Step 2: Fold in Half - vertically
Step 3: With the fold on the right, fold top half back from left to bottom -left corner to top of vertical fold
Step 4: This is what it looks like open.

** NOTE** which ever side you want to be showing for your petals, fold this towards the inside in Step 2.

Today Stampin Up posted the new Stampin Success online for demonstrators. They had a section about "Punch It Up!" So I wanted to try this new way of making a flower. It was really easy! I also wanted to try out Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge today, so my goal was to put the two things together. It took me a bit longer than I thought it would. I just couldn't find a good way to add a sentiement, so it is just a blank card, but blank cards at times are great to have on hand.

I wanted to add some texture to the card so with the Tangerine Tango card stock, I crumbled it up for a few minutes. I then found a place on the edge that was coming apart and I pulled it to make to entire pieces. I then adhered this to a piece of Chocolate Chip, which was adhered to the Kiwi Kiss card stock that was stamped with the Polka Dot BG with Kiwi Kiss ink. I used the new Hawaii Papaya DSP to make my flowers. Take the small tag punch, fold it in half vertically. Then with the fold on the right, fold top half back from left to bottom -left corner to top of vertical fold. (see October Stampin Success 2008 pg 8)

I used four different patterns for the flower. I think it would also be really cute with the same color in different patterns. ie., Kiwi Kiss. I punched a chocolate chip scallop circle and adhered this to the flower. I also punched a 1 3/8" circle from the same DSP and used stampin Dimentionals to adhere. I grabbed an Old Olive Button (which is really cloase to Kiwi Kiss) and tied some linen thread ad used a mini glue dot to adhere.

I just went to Splitcoast and realized that this can also work for todays Limited Supplies Challenge! I just love it when I don't have to come up with another idea for a challenge when I want to play along!

It is so great to get the time to have fun with new toys!! I won this new Hawaii Papaya DSP last night at my Stampin Up meeting! Thanks Dee!! So of course I wanted to take the time today to play with it. It is such a "fall" paper that I wanted to do something for fall. The Wonderful You set is the first set that I thought of!! So I turned to Splitcoast for the first time in a while for a sketch! Thank goodness for Weds!!

The base of the card is Tangerine Tango, standard size! The #2 piece of DSP is 5 1/2" x 1 1/4." The three stripes (#3) are all 3 3/4"x 1/2." The main image was stamped with Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip on a piece of Whisper White CS that is 4"x 2." This was layered on a piece of Chocolate Chip CS just 3/16" bigger. I did also use my stamp-a-ma-jig for the Two-Step Stampin!

I used my Chocolate Chip marker and inked up the "wonderful" sentiment and stamped it on Whisper White, cleaned it off and then did the "you." I was going to punch it out with the 1/1"4 circle punch, but I got a little bit of ink on the CS, so I used the 1" and then used the 1 1/4" with Tangerine Tango and the Scallop Circle punch with Kiwi Kiss!

When I adhered the main image (4) I used stampin diementionals. Then when I adhered the sentiment (optional) I used double stampin dimentionals to have it pop up just a little more!

I am always herein that it is best to take a picture with "real" light. Well, yesterday I made 14 of these "BOO" cards for a swap at my meeting last night. I wanted to be able to share this card with all of you so I took a picture around 6 pm last night, and it was storming outside. So I ended up using my ceiling lights as well as my table lamp, Ott Lite (I think). I really like the brightness and realness of the picture!!

Enough of that, and on with the card! The base of the card is standard Basic Grey. I stamped the swirly stamp from Tasty Sweet with Basic Grey on the botton. I cut a piece of the new Halloween DSP 4 1/4" x 1 3/4." I stamped the crazy circles from Tasty Sweet and the B from Schoolbook Serif with Vesa Mark and then used Basic Black Embossing Powder! I adhered some basic Black ribbon and the eyes with Tombow Adhesive. I then stapled some more black and gingham ribbon with a staple and tied it on!

I have been putting this off and realized the date. I am a member or Great Swap Girsl 2, and I signed up for the new catty swap. They are due next week so yesterday during nap time I finally put my head and heart into it and came up with this card! I love the simplicity of it, yet it still shows off so much! Two-step stamping, mat pack, ribbon, the new wide oval punch and of course, so fun designer series paper!

The base of the card is standard size and Old Olive. I cut a piece of Summer Picnic DSP to 5 1/2" x 1 3/4". I adhered this to the bottom. I then cut a piece of Real Red grosgrain ribbon and adhered it to the front (I am not a fan of "things" on the inside of my cards). I used my stamp-a-ma-jig and Old Olive Classic ink for my sentiment that came from Flight of the Butterfly. I cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie to 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" and paper pierced it with my mat pack! I then stamped the bold image of the butterfly in Bashful Blue and then the dotted butterfly with Real Red. I didn't use my stamp-a-ma-jig here, I just eye balled it! I then punched out the butterfly with the new Wide Oval Punch. I adhered the oval to the pumpkin pie and then adhered this with Stampin Dimentionals.

This weekend is a crazy weekend with a birthday party, baby shower and a wedding. I am so thankful that it is Friday so I can useBeate's Weekend Sketch Challenge for some help and inspiration.

I am still in love with the color challenge that Kristina gave last week. It's such a cute combo for little girls. I am even half tempted to change my little girls room to these colors. But I want to wait until we get her a bigger bed. Two adults and one little girl sitting on a twin size bed for story time just isn't the most comfortable. But she doesn't NEED a bigger bed so I don't NEED to change her room. Sorry for the rambling!!

The base of this card is 5 1/4" squre. I am not at home so I don't have all of the meausrements with me for either card, sorry.

Awhile back there was a really cute post on Stampers Showcaes (SU Demo's only) of a really cute Elmo card. I was eager for a kids birthday to come around so I could play with it. Then earlier this week Heather posted THIS card. SO SO CUTE!! Then this morning I found out that my daughter is invited to a birthday party tomorrow night. So this morning we headed over to Target to find a gift. Now that she is taking a nap I decided to play around. Well, since I also have a baby shower and a wedding reception to go to this weekend, I figured I should just mock Heathers card and see how much time I have left for the other two cards!! If I create anything worth sharing, I will be posting it for you!

Scallop Thanks {20}

I have been wanting to try out Kristina's Color Challenge for awhile now but haven't had the time or too much inspiration either. This challenge I just new that I had to try!! I actually started off by working on a baby shower card since a cousin is having a baby girl soon. But it wasn't working for me so I set it off to the side and began this card! I am pleased with how it turned out....and again, it's simple and easy!

The base of the card is Certainly Celery and it is just and 3 1/2" square card. I then layered a piece of Chocolate Chip 3 1/8" squre and a piece of Pink Pirouette 3" square that was stamped with the flowers from Boho Backgrounds with Pink Pirouette Classic Ink. I adhered a piece of Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain ribbon behind the chocolate chip square (since I am not a fan of things inside my cards).

I grabbed my embossing buddy, Very Vanilla Embossing Powder, Heat Gun and the thank you stamp from Say it With Scallops and went to town. I punched out the sentiment with the wonderful and new Scallop Squre Punch!! LOVE IT!! I adhered this with Stampin Dimentionals!

I have been meaning to post this card for some time now. It is the card that I had everyone make at my New Catalog Open House for Stampin Up's new Idea Book and Catalog. It is also the card in which I am giving away for last weeks blog candy. It has been made for some time now, I just needed to take a picture of it before I put it in the mail!!

I wanted to keep the card simple and easy. (my new way of making cards!!) The base of the card is just a 3" x 3". I used the Round Tab punch to make the Chocolate Chip circle in the background because I didn't have the new 1 3/4" circle punch yet...in which I now have and love!! I am really enjoying the Eastern Bloom set. It's a toss up between it and Flight of the Butterfly for which is my favorite set from Convention.

Birthday Art

I wanted to share these two pictures with you. They are "art" related so I hope you don't mind!!

Here is what my wonderful hubby gave me for my birthday!! It is a 3 ft by 4 ft canvas that he took and had stretched too! My DH hung it in our master bedroom last night! Isn't it just gorgeous!! I love it! Then after hanging it we watched the Olympics! It was a great match between USA and China for womens beach volleyball. For those of you that missed it, the USA took home the gold!

I made this for my birthday treat since we already celebrated! It is so yummy!! Here is the reciepe for all of you...it's a Pampered Chef recipe.

White Chocolate Raspberry Tart

Crust

2 c finely chopped Oreo's (abt 20)

1/4" c butter, melted

Filling

8 oz Cool Whip

3/4 c white chocolate chips

1/2 c sour cream

1/4 c semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tsp veggie oil

1 c raspberries (abt 7 oz)

Powdered Sugar

1. For crust, finely chop cookies. In a small bowl, combine cookie crumbs and butter; mix well. Press into bottom and sides of a tart pan. Refrigerate until ready to fill.

2. For filling, place 1 cup of cool whip and white chocolate in a large microwave safe bowl. Micro on HIGH for 1 min or until melted and smooth, stirring after every 20-second interval. Cool slightly (mixture will be slightly warm). Fold in remaining cool whip and sour cream. Spread white chocolate mixture over crust.

3. Place choclate morselsand oil in a smal microwave safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH 30-60 seconds or until melted and smooth, stirring after every 20-second interval. Drizzle choclate mixture over filling. Arrange raspberries around edge of tart. Refregerate at least 1 hours or until set. Sprinkle powdered sugar over raspberries just berfore serving if desired.

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me....
Yah, today is my birthday! We actually celebrated over the weekend because I wanted to go to the movies, and sometimes it just isn't as easy to get a babysitter during the week for several hours. We ate out at this really good resturaunt here in town (Mark Anthony's for those of you that live near) and then we went and saw Swing Vote (at the District). Afterwards, we also went out for ice cream. We weren't really hungry for it, but since we didn't have our daugheter (who is allergic to cow's milk) I wanted to take advangate of it!!

Well, I don't have any creations to post today, but I wanted to offer up some blog candy. My new Stampin Space

Last week I spent a lot of time trying to organize and move majority of my stamping stuff. I couldn't stand stamping in the basement anymore. Too dark and dirty...and too many dead bugs. So here is a look into my room....and it's also my daughter's play room. We are sharing!!

All of the white cubes are file folders/drawers from Store in Style. I purchased them all at Roberts (a local craft store). The black towel rods are from IKEA!! I love how I live so close to this store now!

This storage unit is also Store in Style. My dad put some dowels in the shelf holes so I could keep my ribbons on it with out them going everywhere, and so I could aslo remove them easily! The glass jars are also from IKEA. The big one I still need to decorate or figure out what to store in it. The little ones have extra piece of ribbon, the bulk buttons, bulk hodge podge, and pins that I have earned received with Stampin Up!

Here is a look inside of the closet (my half at least)! My dad built me this storage holder for my ink pads and refills. I am not a fan of the marker holder so I only use it for my "extra" markers that I have.

I have sold so many stamps that have retired so I am excited to get some new ones!! I just keep my stamps on a book shelf that my dad was giving away.

Falling by Nature Again

I wanted to play around with the same card but use a little bit of different colors. I thought that the previous card was a bit too orangy!! I like this one better! But I still like them both. This time I began brayering (is this an actual word?) with More Mustard. Then I placed the 1 1/4" circle Post-it and brayered again with Pumpkin Pie. I then sponged with Really Rust and then Riding Hood Red, and then stamped the grass with Chocolate Chip. The card rang out "fall" and a bit chilly to me, so this time I used the sentiment Warm Wishes from the set Hugs and Wishes.

Fall By Nature

I was "inspired" by Andrea to make this card. I fell in love with her card when she posted it. So I thought I would play around with it using the stamp set Inspired by Nature. It is a set that we received at convention. Not a set that I would normally pick out as a fave, but I did see some really cute things at convention with this set! Also, I have see a few cute things on Splitcoast too!

My card base is stanard size, Pumpkin Pie. I began with a piece of Whisper White CS and brayered Summer Sun over the entire piece. I then punched out my "sun" with a pice of post-it with my 1 1/4" circle punch and placed it on my CS. I then brayered Pumpkin Pie and sponged Ruby Red and then Chocolate Chip. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig and Chocolate Chip ink and stamped the grass from Insipired by Nature.

For the Old Olive CS I used my Score Pal to score some lines in two directions (very hard to see). I then used Versa Mark and the Linen BG and only pressed in a few places to bring the color to the CS. I then also sponged Old Olive in a few places. I also used my Crop-a-dile and mat pack to space my brads!

I stamped the Sentiment from One of a Kindusing Chocolate Chip ink.

Last week was my step-mom's birthday. I made this card by attempting to mock a card that I received from Convention. I was too lazy to go and pull out the card to see how similar they were. The card that I received at convention was made with the Wild For You stamp set. It was SO CUTE!!! Thanks to the stamper that traded with me!!! I LOVE IT!

Convention Swap-Wishes

Wow!!! Things have been so busy lately with company and the wedding that I am finally getting around to my swaps for convention...TOMORROW!!! I am so excited! Oh, and by the way, I had a dream last night about the new Stampin Up catalog!! I can't wait for the big unveiling tomorrow!!

Here is the card front that I came up with for my convention swaps. I believe the layout is from SCS. I'll have to go back and see when I have a moment. I was so excited to use some of the new In Colors and a few of the new stamp sets!! I really wanted to use the new DSP Bella Rose but I knew that I would have enough to go around for all of my swaps.

My card base is Riding Hood Red, standard size. The Kiwi Kiss is layered ontop measuring 5" x 3 3/4." I stamped this with the Polka Dots BG with Whisper White Craft Ink. This is layered with a piece of Chocolate Chip and Whisper White 4" x 2 3/4" and 3/16" larger for the CC. I used my ScorPal for the scoring, but you could use your bone folder or Fiskars Scoring blade for the scoring...or anything else that you are in love with!! I scored every 1/2", I prefer the diamond score on this layout, but there were some that came out square!! They were still cute!

My Pink Poirouette measures 5 1/2" x 2" and I used my new Scalloped Edge Punch (can I just say how much I LOVE this new punch!?!?!) for the scalloped edge. I stamped the sentiment from Heard From the Heart with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White CS that is 5 1/2" x 1", which is layered on a pice of Chocolate Chip 5 1/2" x 1 3/16."

I also stamped the butterfuly on the large piece of Whisper White that is scored with Riding Hood Red from the Dreams de Jour set. I also stamped the butterfly on a scrap piece of paper and cut it out using my Paper Snips. I adhered the buttefuly with the Tombo adhesive.

This card really took a long time to make a lot of them, but I really thought that it needed some texture and dimention to it!! I am pleased with how it turned out!!

Sneek Peek Order-Break

THANK YOU UPS MAN!! Mr Brown delivered my order from my sneek peek demo order today while my daughter and I went to the splash park with some friends!! What a great day to go!! I was so exctied to see the box sitting at my front door when I pulled in!! It was just like dessert before eatting!! SO FUN!! I LOVE that new Scallop Edge Punch!! Can't wait to make projects with it!!

Which brings me to another point. We have a wedding next week, so we have family in town and coming to town. So I wont be making many projects or posting much for the next few weeks! I will still be around, but I also don't know how often I'll be checking email. So please bare with my while I am taking a break! Enjoy your July!!

Wild Flower Power

WOW!! This week has flown by so quickly!! I can't believe the Fourth of July is pretty much here!! Yeah!! Hope we get to see some fun fireworks!!

Here's another card that I have put together for my class next week! I have one other card/project that is alomst complete, I just have to run to Hobby Lobby (or somewhere) to grab something and I'll be able to finish it!!

This card is a really simple card! I guess I am trying to keep my class simple this month! Very little stamping, no frillies, and lots of layers!!

The rumors are TRUE!! Stampin Up! allowed their demo's to have a sneek peak today of some of the new products that will be in the upcoming catalog!! I am so excited to share with you that there is a Scallop Punch!!! YEAH!! Yes, I did order it first thing this morning too!! ALSO, all of the *new* stamps will be die-cut!! (so the current stamps will still need to be cut) I can't wait until the end of the month when I go to convetion and get my new catty and see all of the fun stuff! I also ordered the new In Colors!! That will be fun to play with!!

Today's card was inspired by Jen!! Thanks for the fun sketch Jen! This is another project/card that we will be making at the class next week!!

The card base is standard size Pumpkin Pie! I used my Summer Day's Simply Scrappin Kit for the DSP. The stripped piece is 1/2" x 5 1/4" layered on a piece of Real Red CS 5 1/4" x 5/8." I stamped the flower from Stiched Exotics with Real Red on Whisper White CS. I stamped the smaller flower with Wild Wasabi (I will really miss this color) and cut them both out with my paper snips! I grabbed a Pumpkin Pie flower from my Flower Fusions stash and adhered these all together with my Bashful Blue brad. This was adhered with Stampin Dimentionals onto a piece of Bashful Blue DSP 2 1/2" square layered on a piece of Wild Wasabi 2 11/16" square, which was also adhered with Stampin Dimentionals!

Once I had everything together I decided that it still needed something. So I figured, you can never have too many Thank You cards, so I added the sentiment from Enjoy Every Moment!
