It's hard to be a woman, I would guess. There are lots of pressures all around as there are for men. Just in different areas. <BR/><BR/>I found that I don't always meet the standard and its a steep standard, but it needs to be met. But it's still hard to meet.<BR/><BR/>I found that fathers are the most influential determining factor in the characteristics you seek, but that we all have the ability to make our own choices despite our past. <BR/><BR/>I found that the heart is the most important place to look for these standards. Lots of men and women can fake it and often do. I would rather have someone hard on the outside, but soft-hearted on the inside.<BR/><BR/>I found that time and other things can change good people into people who don't look at the world the same way as they did when they were idealistic. It's called being jaded.<BR/><BR/>I found that the world is the world and you shouldn't expect much from it. I'm glad this will be the worst it gets for me. So much responsiblity. Such the need of character, such temptation. We're wired so differently. After reading Wild At Heart, it began to clue me in as to how different they are to be. Society tries to even the playing field, but we're not even, we're different. Woman is a new creature, made out of man, but different still the same. <BR/><BR/>Thanks again for putting together a collection of thoughts into a great post.
