Every night there is the same routine at my house. My daughter comes to me and complains that the computer is too slow while she's trying to do her homework. One the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a partridge in a pear tree. Okay maybe it isn't a pear tree, it's actually a Christmas tree. This is an ornament from my childhood that was passed down to me when my parents passed away. Every year it goes near the top of our Christmas tree.

Speaking of Christmas what do you want for Christmas? Are you done your shopping yet? Every year me and my sister has a deal. We both get each other some wrinkle cream or eye cream because we are about the same age and neither or us is getting any younger. We're not that old, but we're not that young either and it's kinda another tradition between us that's been going on for the past 5 or so years.

This sky isn't really pink, I usually take pictures of pink skies, but I couldn't resist this sky. I actually tried to take a picture of the moon the other night because it so bright and there were clouds floating around it. It was very cool to see, but no matter what I did, the picture would not turn out right. I swear I'm going to be an old woman on social security disability before I'm finally able to get a good night sky moon shot.

My Three Voices

The Mommy Voice - that's the soft and caring voice I use with the kids.

The Everyday Voice - that's my normal voice I use.

The Wife Voice - that's the voice I use after asking him for the third time to take the garbage out and he still hasn't done it.

All I can say is that if he wants me to stop using the "Wife" voice with him he better take the garbage out after the first time I ask him. Sure I could take the garbage out, but we have an arrangement. He does certain chores and I do certain chores. I don't take the garbage out and he doesn't iron. I don't mow the lawn and he doesn't deal with the household bills.

I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. Everyone is talking about 2012 and Nostradamus predictions and I expected to learn more about them in this movie. I was really surprised that they didn't talk about it though. All they really talked about was the Mayans and according to the Mayan calendar the world is going to come to an end on December 12, 2012.

What did I think of this movie? Well, it reminded me a lot of The Day After Tomorrow. Basically it was another disaster flick, but I must admit the special effects with all the destruction was really good. This is definitely a guy flick.

Fighting The Flu

I hate needles and even the thought of getting one makes me cringe. Because of this I don't get the flu vaccine. What I rely on instead is vitamins and supplements to help me fight of any bugs and viruses. I recently got Respiratory Guard to try and it couldn't have come at a better time. Both of my children were sick and when you have sick kids that means that sooner or later you are going to get sick too.

As soon as I started to feel achy and sick I took the Respiratory Guard. It's a box of 14 naturally flavored lozenges that you can either chew or let melt in your mouth. I actually thought they tasted quite good. I took 2 a day for a week and I was pleasantly surprised that they helped me a lot and I didn't get nearly as sick as my kids. I'm not saying that Respiratory Guard is a alternative to the flu vaccine, but I am saying that they helped me a lot and I would recommend them to anyone who is getting sick.

Why Women Should Be The One To Change The Oil

Oil Change instructions for Women:

Drive into Ultra Tune when the odometer reaches 10,000 kilometers since the last oil change.
Drink a cup of coffee , read free paper.
15 minutes later, pay bill leave with a properly maintained vehicle.

Money spent:

Oil Change: $40.00
Coffee: $2.00
Total: $42.00

Oil Change instructions for Men:

Wait until Saturday, drive to auto parts store and buy a case of oil, filter, kitty litter, hand cleaner and a scented tree, write a cheque for $50.00.
Stop by the Bottle Shop and buy a slab of beer, write a cheque for $40, drive home.
Open a beer and drink it.
Jack car up. Spend 30 minutes looking for jack stands.
Find jack stands under caravan.
In frustration, open another beer and drink it.
Place drain pan under engine.
Look for 9/16 box end wrench.
Give up and use crescent wrench.
Unscrew drain plug.
Drop drain plug in pan of hot oil: splash hot oil on you in process. Curse and swear.
Crawl out from under car to wipe hot oil off face and arms. Throw kitty litter on spilled oil.
Have another beer while watching oil drain.
Spend 30 minutes looking for oil filter wrench.
Give up; crawl under car and hammer a screwdriver through oil filter and twist off.
Crawl out from under car with dripping oil filter splashing oil everywhere from holes.
Cleverly, hide old oil filter among trash in trash can to avoid environmental penalties.
Install new oil filter making sure to apply a thin coat of oil to gasket surface.
Dump first liter of fresh oil into engine.
Remember drain plug from step 11. Hurry to find drain plug in drain pan.
Drink beer.
Discover that first liter of fresh oil is now on the floor. Throw kitty litter on oil spill.
Get drain plug back in with only a minor spill. Drink beer.
Crawl under car getting kitty litter into eyes. Wipe eyes with oily rag used to clean drain plug.
Slip with stupid crescent wrench tightening drain plug and bang knuckles on frame removing any excess skin between knuckles and frame.
Begin swearing fit.
Throw stupid crescent wrench.
Beer.
Clean up hands and bandage as required to stop blood flow.
Beer.
Dump in five fresh litres of oil.
Beer.
Lower car from jack stands.
Move car back to apply more kitty litter to fresh oil spilled during any missed steps.
Beer.
Test drive car.
Get pulled over: arrested for driving under the influence.
Car is impounded.
Call loving wife, make bail.
12 hours later, get car from impound yard.

Money spent:

Parts: $50.00
DUI: $2500.00
Impound fee: $75.00
Bail: $1500.00
Beer: $40.00
