So Mr H & I stopped to pick up some fountain drinks at a gas station on the way home from a bbq at my aunt & uncles yesterday.
I brought my soda up to pay and totally spilled the entire beverage all over the counter.
The bloke running the register was pretty ok about it and started wiping up my mess as I went to refill my soda.
I gingerly set my freshened soda down to pay and said I guess that means I get it as the refill price.
He obliged. Just cuz I asked.
So I made a mess and saved 60 cents.
Things are really lookin up for the ol Veehud.

I traced & scribbled a picture of Pearl. Gus got a new rat that he is socializing & bonding with. Her name is Geodia. It made me miss Pearl. She was so GD cute and loving and affectionate.
They are a good practice pet if you're not quite ready for a dog, or too allergic for a cat.
She was neato Torpedo. Her sister-wife Trudy has finally gone for the dirt nap in the sky recently too. They're all up there in heaven just a chewin up holes in things and sleeping in God's dirty laundry.

What sweet and misunderstood critters.
I think I may do another one and spend more time on it and make a greater effort not to seem quite so trace-y.

Mr H gave lent me his tablet well over a year ago. I was playing a tracing game online and thought to try out my unused tablet and put it to good use.
Tracing Game was still boring.
You know what wasn't boring?
Coloring in Dee's face!

This is my first time using my tablet and it was pretty fun to mess around with. I was mostly playing with pressure and just trying to get used to the tablet in general. I know this is goofy ass, I'm not trying to wow you with my art-farty skills but there's some fun things in this one. I think it might have been more difficult bc I'm left handed and dont know how to draw. I bet Mr H has some good tips.
This was way fun to just mess around. maybs I'll color in your face next time.

Hi Guys!
The Hudson gang are participating in No More Homeless Pets of Utah's annual STRUT YOUR MUTT event. This is a fund raising event that helps out NMHPU a non-profit 501c3 organization working to end the euthanasia of homeless dogs and cats statewide and promote humane alternatives for feral cats. Check out the website for more details about them.
Mr H, Jake, Walter, a gang of our friends & family- their dogs, and I have formed a dog pack named Jerry's Dog (an homage to Jerry Garcia....we wanted to wear tie dye shirts) and we are pretty freakin excited to be raising some funds for animals who need it.

Last night I had a dream that Hurley from lost was working at MacDonalds (in his Dharma uniform no less) and gave me a delicious caramel apple.
Then we took a picture to document the moment. The end.

Or it should have been a Mr Clucks?
Maybe that means I should catch up on Lost?

I picked this picture cuz it was da coolest.
And also proves my theory that Jorge Garcia could probably pull of a John Belushi biopic.

In other news I'M FRICKIN SORE FROM MY TRAINER YESTERDAY MORNING! I've been waddling around all day. Its motivating though.

And I'm putting together a Strut Your Mutt Dog Pack. I'm so freakin excited for this.
So far we are up to nine members.
We are having our first pack meeting on Sunday.
Only good things can come from it!

So rumor has it that season 4 was supposed to suck... It has been a little goofy, but maybe I felt differently as it was disguised as season three on netflix. [sigh] I guess its all downhill from here now...

My favorites are Hiro & Ando as a unit. I love their bromance. And Matt Parkman, he just needs something to love!

Jeez Where the Heck Have I been

This has been my longest break in a while.
What I've been wanting to do is update where I'm at with my Happy Me 2009 Resolution
So, here we go:
1. Healthy Me. I have been pretty consistent with my early to bed early to rise sleep schedule. ALTHOUGH It has been hard to get my but to the gym every single day. But I love how I feel when I'm at the gym, and for the rest of the day. So every time I go I hold on to that feeling and so I can replay it every morning. I also get in little ruts when MrH is on the same sleeping schedule as me and we go to the gym together. If he doesn't feel like going then I would rather stay in bed too.
Its hard. One thing that has helped is I've started spending time with a trainer. We've figured out what my BMI is area's I need to work on and routine's that will best fit my lifestyle. He's definitely given me direction and motivation. I only have 4 sessions with him but I'm taking as much as I can from them. I have noticed improvements in the length of time I do my workouts. they are slowly increasing! And I'm not falling over out of breath afterwards either! WOOT. So pretty much I'm workin slow, and steady.

2 Happy Dogs. Jake has graduated from agility! I was hoping to post the video of him doing the course but I have yet to edit it. Jake is a whizbang! He will pretty much do anything you ask him too. His main motivation? Pleasing me (read: HOT DOGS) While he is eager to please, he's mostly motivated whatever delicious delight is my my hand. Jake also has his bag of tricks that we whip out mostly to show off to friends and family. MrH is also helping out with this goal by taking Jake out for jogs when the weather isn't so crummy. He's loving it.
Walter finished obedience school and did much better than I would have imagined. His next move is actually going to be going on to Agility. He's been my walking buddy on MrH's and Jake's jogs. We are doing pretty well in this area. and once the weather is a little more consistent we will be going out for more walks.
This area has been one of my most sucessful.
I'm also planning on signing the Hudson's up for StruttYourMutt and I'm getting really excited for that!

3. Organization
Yes this has still been the most difficult for me. I've been pretty good at being organized at work, so I was off to a good start. But the house is really daunting. I've been reading organization tips and buying lots of totes of different sizes, and orginizational bins those motivate me for a good 48 hrs our so before I find myself distracted with something shiny in the other room.
A bigger house would be the answer. coughcoughMrH!coughcough

So there it is in a nutshell. an awful small nutshell. but still. I'm glad I'm tracking this for myself.

How to make a sandwich

A job application's final question asked how I make a sandwich in 1-2 paragraphs.
I amused myself with my response so I decided to share!

My sandwich of choice is a peanut butter and jelly. I often have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for breakfast. In fact I had one this morning. My procedure is typical, and I usually do not deviate from what I consider to be the best possible way to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
My husband usually doesn't put the sandwich fixings away so they are already out and on the counter ready and waiting for me. I procure two slices of whole wheat bread and lay them down on a paper towel next to each other. One piece is for the peanut butter, the brand of choice being Skippy, and the other piece for our homemade plum jelly. My ratio to peanut butter to jelly is a little heavier on the peanut butter side, however my husband disagrees with this approach. I am very careful to use separate utensils when dishing out the peanut butter and jelly. There is nothing worse than then crusty peanut butter in the jelly, or coagulated jelly in the peanut butter. I press both pieces of bread together in a clapping motion and voilà! The best pb&j is ready to be consumed. (Note to reader: it is handy to have a glass of milk around to satiate the peanut buttered palate).

We've turned St Patrick's day into my dad's very on Thanksgiving.
This is the 3rd year, I believe, My dad and his wife have hosted this holiday.
The past two years we brought Tony this year Nate tagged along as well.
Mr H and I were looking forward to it all day!, Actually the whole weekend we were looking forward to it!
Mr H brought some Irish Pub Beers and of Course Guinness. My dad had Irish Whiskey for us to sip on as well as Green beer, yum! We had a traditional Irish meal, Dragon Eggs, and Nadya made one of my favorite Russian Delights, Acroshka (sp?) Its pretty much a cold spring soup, although technically its considered a salad. dbl YUM.

Nate and Mr H entertained us with some Irish Drinking songs and then Jakey wow'd every one with his neat tricks! One of them was jumping over the bake of my dad! HAR! We also took our turns at telling Irish Jokes. I started one but couldn't finish it- I stink at telling jokes.
We really enjoy our St Paddy's day!

the Return of Leeeees Pooooooool

Last fri, for the 3rd time we saw Les Claypool.
This by far was my favorite, we actually rounded up a little posse to go with us.
Adrianne, Ben and Nate came along with us, with out really knowing any of his music, save for Robot Chicken and South Park.
While he played a lot of his oldies and goodies- he mostly played his stuff from his new album, something something about a fungi. We don't own it, yet.
I must say I felt rather cool, I palled around the Depot with Adrianne and we chatted up with a lot of different people. Apparently I know quite a lot of information about Les and was able to sound really knowledgeable. I was able to talk about past concerts with people and make comparisons of his other albums and bands. All I gotta say there is thanks Mr H!
I actually stayed pretty close to where people were moshing, the difference this time is have my crew of ninja's around to make sure me and Adrianne were protected from the sweaty moshers s well as being tossed up to body surf.
I gotta tell ya, I loved this concert! Its crazy to see what kind of crowd he draws in, literally every type of clique you can imagine was there.

This was also the second time we've seen his opening act, the secret chiefs 3. They are amazing! We knew what we were in for, not everyone else in the crowd did. It was great!, after each song they crowd would cheer a little louder, and scoot a little closer to the stage. By the end people were squished right up there.
However, the next opener. Saul Williams- he was not a crowd pleaser at all. First he was having technical difficulties and second... his style off music didn't appear to appeal to any of the crazy people there. He was literally boo'd. Adrianne and I couldn't take it so we skadoodled to the bar and just hung out there for his set.

Save for Saul Williams this concert was a success.

He's going to shoot his way outta there.

Last Friday Gpa went back in to the hospital with a urinary tract infection.
It entered his blood stream and he has been fighting off a mighty infection through out his whole body.
Last week was rough for him. Rough for everyone.
He's struggling to stabilize and really show improvement.
Its been hard.

I'm still visualizing him moving battling his way up the hill.
