Some good forward pressure led to quick ball going across the backs and full back <a href="http://www.urban75.org/photos/wales/images/taff-trail-cardiff-11.jpg">Taff</a> sped past the winger to score in the corner. Longlevens had plenty of opportunities to increase the score but some <a href="http://www.cartoonstock.com/lowres/cza0640l.jpg">aimless</a> kicking cost them dear with no fewer than 4 chances going begging when they should have kept the <a href="http://www.appleare.com/wp-content/uploads/iphone_wallpapers/ball_in_hand.jpg">ball in hand</a>.</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left">It took another nice move through the hands to put centre Shane O'Brien in under the posts to extend the lead which <a href="http://www.freefoto.com/images/26/06/26_06_13---Taff-Vale-Railway-0-6-2-No-85_web.jpg">Taff</a> converted. Then a nice move off a tap penalty saw Sam Lane break the gain lane and some <a href="http://images.quickblogcast.com/115742-108023/Copy_of_100_2600.JPG">nice hands</a> from Paul Watson put Sam Rees in at the corner to round the half off with Levens 17-0 up.</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left">Having made a host of changes at half time, the coaches laid the <a href="http://www.megghy.com/immagini/Psx/FICHE%20G/COVERS/Gauntlet_Legends_Pal.jpg">gauntlet</a> down to step up but in fact it went the opposite way in what was probably the <a href="http://www.treehugger.com/toilet-llqq-001.jpg">worst performance</a> of the season so far. Hereford were soon on the scoresheet with a series of <a href="http://lolbots.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/yor-feeble-stik-i-mock-it.jpg">weak and missed</a> tackles their forwards bundled over. Worse was to follow as an excellent line from their centre cut the home defence <a href="http://www.showerherbaby.com/images/ribbons2.jpg">apart</a> and a score under the sticks made it 17-12. Levens threatened to come back into it but the pack were often <a href="http://the217.com/site_media/images/2007/10/media-1192734098-5083.jpg">outgunned</a> at the <a href="http://beehaus.com/catalog/images/breakdown600.jpg">breakdown</a> and with just four minutes to go, Hereford again scored and converted to give them a 2 point advantage. With the coaches having made some more <a href="http://www.hypnoprogress.com/images/thumbnails/Panic.png">changes</a>, it really was desperate stuff as the home side tried desperately to run ball out from their own line, often with little gain. Then with less than a minute to go Hereford <a href="http://www.cartoonstock.com/lowres/shr1254l.jpg">spilled the ball</a> just inside the Levens half and a quick transfer from John Phillips to his new fly-half partner Christian Hartery set up a chance wide out. Having drawn his man, he put Paul Watson into space and his well timed pass gave Mike <a href="http://yorkieplace.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/yorkie.jpg">Yorke</a> the chance of a <a href="http://www.jordanextreme.com/nikegallery/AJ7/9293MichaelJacksonOneOnOne.jpg">1 on 1</a> with his opposite number. He duly rounded him and <a href="http://www.turtletrack.org/Issues02/Co04202002/Art/Kangaroo_jumping.jpg">bounded</a> towards the line to score an unlikely and probably undeserved winning try.</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8646216654451576242-410539080698715740?l=lrfc-u17s.blogspot.com'/></div>Dan Etchellshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05457641076406449088noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8646216654451576242.post-75505064687864664272008-11-03T18:54:00.006Z2008-11-11T21:04:42.305ZMatch Report - Longlevens v Widden OB (2nd November)<div align="center"><strong><span style="font-size:130%;">Longlevens 22 - 10 Widden OB </span></strong></div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><strong><span style="font-size:130%;"></span></strong></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div><div align="left">Will be a quick write-up for now, so apologies, but I know the lads anted to see something on the Blog quickly...</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left">It was a decent game of rugby on Sunday morning, with commitment and passion from both teams - Widden went into the lead early, with Levens coming back to level the game at 5-5 through Shane O'Brien 5 minutes later...</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left">Taff Ford put the home team 10-5 up - a good, simple, well worked try on the right wing - "just like watching rugby", as we said on the sideline!!</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left">Levens went further up in the second half, with a well worked try from Nathan Hazard, before Widden came back strongly, with a sustained period of pressure making it 15-10.</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="left">It was all looking touch and go, following a long injury break, until Paul Watson made the game safe at 22-10.</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8646216654451576242-7550506468786466427?l=lrfc-u17s.blogspot.com'/></div>Dan Etchellshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05457641076406449088noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8646216654451576242.post-89719790756375139652008-09-24T20:49:00.003+01:002008-11-11T21:05:02.696ZMatch Report - Hucclecote v Longlevens (21st September)<div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">Hucclecote 17 - 17 Longlevens</span></div><br />I couldn't make it to the match, and haven't heard anything from Cub Reporters (Nel) but am lead to believe the final score was a 17-all draw...<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8646216654451576242-8971979075637513965?l=lrfc-u17s.blogspot.com'/></div>Dan Etchellshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05457641076406449088noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8646216654451576242.post-13295806744417921482008-09-04T18:01:00.003+01:002008-09-04T18:24:33.931+01:00LRFC Under 17s New Season NewsletterRight then, off we go again - same <a href="http://library.thinkquest.org/CR0210200/ancient_greece/horse2.jpg">horse</a>, different <a href="http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50029284/Trailer_Jack_Jockey_Wheel.jpg">jockey</a> - to make it really deja vue, the brook down the road is groaning at the seams like <a href="http://arago4.tnw.utwente.nl/stonedead/silly-stuff/mr-creosote/mr-creosote.jpg">John Prescott</a> yet again!!<br /><br />As most of you will know, Mark has lovingly hand-crafted a <a href="http://www.lrfc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/LRFCU17NS.doc">newsletter</a> - if you've got access to this, and you can think of a <a href="http://cache.virtualtourist.com/1082381-The_King_of_Peterborough_AKA_Nobby_the_Tramp-Peterborough.jpg">poor, enfeebled interested party</a> who may not have got the mail, and thinks the Internet is something for enterprising fishermen, then pass the good news on, if you'd be so kind??<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8646216654451576242-1329580674441792148?l=lrfc-u17s.blogspot.com'/></div>Dan Etchellshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05457641076406449088noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8646216654451576242.post-83673978757923090042008-07-29T17:51:00.001+01:002008-07-29T17:52:36.605+01:00Missing Cat UpdateHe's back - the little, er, sweetheart - wandered in this afternoon without a care in the world... However, 10 minutes in, something of an aberration from a linout on our 22 presented Cirencester with a golden opportunity - just needed to flop over the line onto the ball to make it 0-5.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />The home team came back again, with Sam Lane powering off the base of the scrum, and displaying an impressive <a href="http://www.wrestlingfurnace.com/galleries/b/barnes/barnes22.jpg">handoff </a>on a number of occasions, and Sam Rees and CJ tacking everything that moved - the forwards moved up on the right, and then the backs put together a sweet move to the left, putting Bestie in at the corner for 5-5 at half time.<br /><br />Worthy of note was the new instruction from the ref, not heard previously from any spectator, to crouchtouchholdengage....<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R_j8bl_HT4I/AAAAAAAAAUI/4daELSaRVyI/s1600-h/Snowman.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5186172521900625794" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R_j8bl_HT4I/AAAAAAAAAUI/4daELSaRVyI/s200/Snowman.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R_j9Ml_HT5I/AAAAAAAAAUQ/kinxfohBYHY/s1600-h/Lewis+Hamilton.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5186173363714215826" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R_j9Ml_HT5I/AAAAAAAAAUQ/kinxfohBYHY/s200/Lewis+Hamilton.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />The second half saw 'Levens pick up the pace, with slope and <a href="http://www.vizprints.com/lowres/47/main/1/142181.jpg">wind</a> behind them, and only a couple of minutes in, Gabby went over to the left of the posts from close quarters - something I failed to see, unfortunately, as I was judging the snowman competition at the time.... Rory <a href="http://www.hji.co.uk/hjimages/images/qhs92/hji/medium/1969-sideburns-men.jpg">'Lewis Hamilton hair'</a> Woodward kicked the conversion for 12-5.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />5 minutes later Mikey Yorke fielded a kick out from the Ciren 22 and, <a href="http://hypnosisproductreviews.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/speedy_g.jpg">showing real pace</a>, skinned the defence on the outside to go over in the corner for 17-5. Almost straightaway we were back in the Ciren 22, with Watto wading through defenders and plunging over the line for 24-5.<br /><br />25 minutes in 'Levens were under pressure from Ciren, conceding penalties and showing some <a href="http://www.gregcons.com/KateBlog/content/binary/comic%20book%20swearing.jpg">lack of discipline</a>, but managed to keep the visitors out, then Shane O'Brien broke out from our 22 on the right, showing real pace, for 31-5. Almost immediately, not wanting to be outdone, Watto did the same, giving a beautiful <a href="http://grubhier.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/dummy.jpg">dummy</a> to fox the defence before putting Shane in again for 38-5.<br /><br />Final action of the match was Taff crusing over for another try to make the final score 45-5...<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R_j9f1_HT6I/AAAAAAAAAUY/abJKS4ykTbg/s1600-h/Dr+Kildare.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5186173694426697634" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R_j9f1_HT6I/AAAAAAAAAUY/abJKS4ykTbg/s200/Dr+Kildare.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Good to see the <a href="http://www.kys.ie/images/map_of_kildare.JPG">Parkers</a> - OK, Ollie??<br /><br /><br />Anyway, to business, basically it was absolutely freezing &amp; blowing a gale - 10 minutes in, my first shaky note says <a href="http://www.mindhacks.com/blog/files/2004/12/orangutan_yawn.jpg">'Not much happening' </a>- good, eh?? <a href="http://www.smr.herefordshire.gov.uk/castles/images/battering-ram.JPG">Rich Parker</a> came into the game, putting in a couple of good, driving runs (he's <a href="http://skyblu.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/bribe-000.jpg">payed me </a>to say that, obviously). 5 minutes later we stole Old Pats lineout ball on our right, and Rory 'Peg Leg' Woodward, making a welcome return, stepped off his left foot on the 22, left the defence standing and went over under the posts, converting his own try for 7-0.<br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XY1QYDdGI/AAAAAAAAAP4/XgPOnv7_MR0/s1600-h/Defence.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5162770957290665058" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XY1QYDdGI/AAAAAAAAAP4/XgPOnv7_MR0/s200/Defence.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />For the next 10 or 15 minutes we lapsed back into 'nothing much happening', though 'Levens were on top, keeping Old Pats <a href="http://www.wealddown.co.uk/images/sheep%20in%20traditional%20hurdle%20pen.JPG">penned</a> back, and exerting as much pressure as the continual knock-ons and handling errors, brought on by the sub-zero temperatures, would allow....<br /><br /><br />Then, a moment of class - Christian Hartery kicked ahead from the base of a scrum on the left, fielded his own kick and went over on the right for 12-0.<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XZCAYDdHI/AAAAAAAAAQA/TOo-cxwEJTE/s1600-h/Lineout.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5162771176333997170" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XZCAYDdHI/AAAAAAAAAQA/TOo-cxwEJTE/s200/Lineout.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.nederweert.nl/FilesPage/1002575/Speedy%20Gonzales%20internet.jpg">Jake Williams</a> was playing a sterling game on he right wing, and Peg Leg was everywhere - clearly relishing being back in action. Honourable mentions to <a href="http://www.cinecultist.com/archives/0792833236.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg">Chris Powick</a>, who was putting the fear of God into the opposition and Chris 'Call Me CJ' <a href="http://www.turkeytouristguides.com/images/dervishes-show5.jpg">Johnson</a> doing likewise...<br /><br />The game turned round at 12-0, and with most onlookers (OK, <a href="http://www.walesdirectory.co.uk/Welsh_Dolls/images/welsh-lady.jpg">Sarah, Karl, Mark </a>- not you) hoping for something other than a replay of yesterday's international) we got back into it - very quickly 'Levens were making progress on the right, with an intelligent <a href="http://www.horsemanpro.com/images3/Hoof%20Parallels/club2.jpg">hoof</a> forward from Hartery which <a href="http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/3355580/2/istockphoto_3355580_blind_man_walking.jpg">Mikey Yorke</a> failed to actually make contact with in-goal - hey ho....<br /><br />Fergus Walsh in the backs was playing well, and Joe 'What's A Sidestep' <a href="http://www.saylerscreekrelics.com/-1020B.JPG">Gamston</a> was being, er, direct in the forwards, along with Sam Lane from No. 8 who put in a storming run, only just being kept out on the left.<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XZTQYDdII/AAAAAAAAAQI/bQ92H2HUUKg/s1600-h/Carol.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5162771472686740610" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XZTQYDdII/AAAAAAAAAQI/bQ92H2HUUKg/s200/Carol.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />Most of the play continued to be in Old Pats 22, and 10 minutes into the second half Sam Rees linked well with George Cusworth on the left for 17-0.<br /><br />A few minutes later, with Tom Reade continuing to play well Shane O'Brien scored on the right, following some good work from <a href="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00005MNP8.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg">Nathan Hazard</a> and Cusworth in the centre. Score 22-0.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Just before full time 'Levens turned over Old Pats ball on our 10m line, Sam Rees fed <a href="http://www.theage.com.au/ffximage/2006/10/19/gallagher_2010_narrowweb__300x444,0.jpg">Taff Ford</a> on the left, who stepped inside the covering defence and showed 'em a clean pair of heels for a final score of 29-0.<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XZjwYDdJI/AAAAAAAAAQQ/B3C0s1hZM0A/s1600-h/Motm.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5162771756154582162" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XZjwYDdJI/AAAAAAAAAQQ/B3C0s1hZM0A/s200/Motm.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />After that it was top speed for the welcoming warmth of the Clubhouse and a Committee selection of joint men of the match - Tom Reade and <a href="http://www.roadcycling.com/artman/uploads/lightweight_1_002.jpg">Chris 'I've Got A Cold, I Can't Drink It Any Quicker' Johnson</a>.... celebrating with 2 delightful pints of lager shandy, the lucky, lucky illegitamae....<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XZ8wYDdKI/AAAAAAAAAQY/j5I8zBInDgc/s1600-h/Rich+P.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5162772185651311778" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XZ8wYDdKI/AAAAAAAAAQY/j5I8zBInDgc/s200/Rich+P.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Couple of points - what's Rich Parker <a href="http://images.buycostumes.com/mgen/merchandiser/21985.jpg">lounging around</a> like this for....<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XaOAYDdLI/AAAAAAAAAQg/ZoBhkuwU6WE/s1600-h/PC.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5162772482004055218" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_-HYaD8LCkZc/R6XaOAYDdLI/AAAAAAAAAQg/ZoBhkuwU6WE/s200/PC.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And, is this really the <a href="http://northeast-metaldetectors.com/censored.jpg">publicity</a> Premier Cars are looking for??
