It seems that we aren't the only people getting to grips with the Google Maps api...the usual enthusiastic development wave surrounding Google has generated maplets which are overlays availabled from http://maps.google.co.uk/ ...go to 'My Maps' and you'll see a growing list of maplets which point you to various differnt map based information.
