Hi All

As you may have surmised, and as was hinted at in several
of my recent Friday Life Rhymes (specifically #437 Freedom Song),
something's been brewing in Walt World for the past few months.

Ever since leaving corporate America in the fall of 1995,
I've been executing a plan to create the lifestyle of a modern, minimalist,
nomadic, passionpreneur based on a passive-residual income stream!

Now that I've cut all tethers and structured
a turnkey, self-sustaining, internet-based business
that doesn't require my physical presence in any
one location......

(drum roll, please)

...I've bought a one way ticket to an island in the South Pacific!

So amid sea, sand and sun I'll be living my dream
in a culture and clime that resonates with who I wish to be.

Since this is simply the first step in a journey of a thousand
smiles, I didn't want to make a big deal about it until I got there and
surveyed the lay of the land. But, I wanted to tell a few friends and contacts
who I felt deserve a little advanced notice...

The Semantics of Bliss

Call it what you will, my friend

COMMENTARY:
As we approach the end of another year, you'll be inclined to set some goals to accomplish in the one that approaches. My best advice to you is to set your sights for the stars, but don't seek validation or plan strategy with those who can't see beyond their immediate world. As much as they may love you, or have your best interests at heart, they can only speak from realities they know. Whether it be in money, career or romance, seek counsel from the angels who soar the heavens you dream to reach. For only those who fly possess the tricks of flight to teach.

More preparation and plannnig

Another day spent on the details of getting all the sites in order for the Elements of Fame launch. I won't bore you with the minutae. So what's on my mind right now?

Well, as I gear up for a January 1, 2006 marketing campaign to end all marketing campaigns, I'm working to get everything in place. The sites will stay the same for the duration of the 365 days. Therefore, I should be doing nothing except filling orders
through LightningSource, talking on the phone to radio stations, flying to workshops around the world, and experiencing fame.

As I think about the images that are possible, a thought just occured to me. I see my face on the sides of buses. But waitaminit, billboard ads and such are cheaper in other states and in other countries. It should be possible, therefore, to become famous more easily in India, say, given the exchange rate of the US dollar to Rupee. hmmmmm...perhaps that should be my strategy.

"I'm moving oh, so slowly...what on earth am I to do?
Can't figure out what's wrong," she said, "That's why I've come to you."

"I know just how you feel," I said. "Been down that road before.
Just creeping down the highway though the pedal's to the floor

Let's take a look and see if we can't figure out what's wrong
We'll have you up to speed and on your way before too long

I see you've got a clear idea exactly where your bound
I see you've got the spark that starts the engine turning 'round

I see you've got the map you need that shows how to get there
I see you've got the gas it takes to keep you in high gear

I see you've got a spare along in case some things go flat
And alternate directions? Wow! Most people don't do that

You've even got some friends along to guide you and advise
to help you see what's on the road and be each others' eyes

"Seems everything's in place," I said. "You've got all that it takes
Now take your foot up off the gas...and now release the brakes!"

COMMENTARY:
One unique thing I've discovered is that when things seem to be dragging, when a business project for instance isn't generating the interest or sales that I know it should, that it's often NOT due to a lack of vision, commitment, energy, plan or level of activity, but simply something that exists in the basic groundwork or in another area of my life that I need to fix or release.

So whenever, I encounter that feeling that things should be moving more quickly, I ask (and I encourage you to do the same): "What have I missed? What do I need to put in place? What preliminary step have I overlooked? Or who and what do I need to let go?" It could be a simple thing like a misspelling in a book or a broken link on a website that I didn't catch. Or it might be a more complicated thing like letting go of a person or situation that is holding me back. It may often seem unrelated to the business matter at hand. But the universe is a well-oiled machine that operates on wholistic principles, and so will often require that a seemingly insignificant part or piece be in place in order to operate effectively and efficiently.

The moment I find that thing, and (often the instant) I fix it or give it up, things seem to lurch forward and get back on track.

That simple thing can be like a parking brake that slows the forward motion of the project and of your life! Remember, the goals you set for yourself in any area of your life require changes in every area in order to manifest. So, if your projects are grinding to a crawl, look around and fix anything and everything you can in your life and watch what happens! Zoom. Zoom.

I'm basically giving myself 25 days to get in the right mindset to do this. It's time to kick things up a notch.
I work best under pressure. Usually, when I write a new book, I pre-sell advanced copies so I can have the pressure of external expectations. Therefore, I had to find a way to create the same sort of pressure to make my pursuit of fame more achievable. So just as I pre-sell books, I decided to pre-sell my achievement.
The strategy goes like this:
I start the book and include enough preliminary information to make it a guide
I use this book as my media kit; every person who gets it has a media kit inside
I add more content and develop it in real time on my blog
People download the book and visit the blog
People visit the site to see how I'm doing and to get tips to achieve their own fame
Their interest helps me achieve my own goal of fame
Thus, my book on how I'm becoming famous becomes a key component in a viral marketing campaign which helps me achieve the very fame I'm pursuing, and which I purport to be able to help others achieve. Genius, I tell you! Simply genius!
For me it's a way to be accountable. I work better with deadlines
and pressure. So it's a way to commit and have that external pressure
to succeed. And it has the built-in feature of having the readers themselves
participate in the fame they're watching me create.
As a coach, it's the best way to lead by example and
show others the level of commitment necessary to achieve
one's goals.

I'm still working on the preliminary stuff. I'll be able to start the non-existence formula in earnest when I have the blog, the book, the press release, postcards, media kit all in place.

5:00am Yesterday, while in the Barnes & Noble on 22nd St, I spent some time to work on the blog front page to be more concise and compelling. Now I'm implementing those changes.

5:30am I'm tweaking the syndication function of the blogger account on which I've set up my blog. This will allow people to get a "feed" and be notified whenever I make a new post to the blog. Seems to be working! Still have to do some research on the whole RSS feed concept to learn how to maximize it.

Still have to complete the first part of the book with the basic "how to" information. I'll give myself the rest of December to get everything in place before I finalize the press release and start really publicizing everything. The site is live. I have about 200 items on my to-do list. Each day I do a little more.
As of today, there've been 364 views to my blogger profile.

The Last Tether has been cut!

No entries in quite a while. Why? I've been enjoying life, going to see movies in the middle of the day and working on two new projects. One is the 7 CD audio edition of Turn Your Passion Into Profit, and the other is a secret project I can't tell you about....yet.

As I may have mentioned, I recently got a Mac Powerbook G-4 and have been going to town with the portability, as well as the Garageband software in particular. I got a microphone, plugged it into my boombox to use it as an amp to boost the signal directly into the laptop. In other words, I'm recording a tape series right in my living room! I've just finished laying all the tracks for all 7 CDs and am now in the process of creating the mp3 files for the masters. The 7 CD set is already onsale on the site, and I'll make a big announcement probably on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Meanwhile, yesterday's great news was that one of my coaching clients turned me on to LightningSource.com (LSI) as a potential printer for the PassionProfit line of books. The price is very competitive (read cheaper than who we're currently using), and they also do order fulfillment at a reasonable rate.

Why is this significant? Well, passionpreneurs who've attended my workshops or teleclasses know that one of the ideal scenes
for my own business is to be free to run my business from anywhere, including a mountain top in the Himalayas (provided
they're wired for internet access) and thus cut the tethers to any need to be in any specific physical location.

Having a reliable and cost-effective way to fill the orders for paperback books (ebooks are already handled by a cgi perl-script I developed and added to the shopping cart) was the last piece of the puzzle. (Beep. "You're now free to move about the planet!")

So over this weekend, I'll be reformatting all my books and uploading them to the Lightning Source system and giving them a test run to see the quality and turnaround time. I expect good things, as from what I see, they seem to be positioned well in the market and have Ingram as a parent company.

Well, that's all for now. I'll let you know how LightningSource, the CD Package and www.agelessadept.com are coming along....ooops! I let the cat out of the bag!

Hey All,

My newest venture is something called www.FreeSummerConcerts.com
It grew (very quickly) out of my penchant for frugal entertainment. In addition to going to see movies during the middle of the day, another great thing about being a passionpreneur is enjoying all the free concerts around town here in NY every summer. I decided, therefore, to put together a database of these events and make them available to others who are similarly inclined to seek low-cost entertainment options. The PERL script that generates the emails is my own creation and the bastard child of a survey script and a shopping cart script I have in my possession. It took me about a day to conceive the idea and another day to create the site and script. When someone joins the list, the script automatically scans the database and grabs upcoming events for the next three days. After launching the site just about 2 weeks ago, I already have 370 subscribers!

The Passionpreneur Club Phenomenon!

Hey All!The first leg of the Passion Prophet tour was spectacular! I was in San Francisco for three events, then took a 2 day vacation in Los Angeles, and then it was on to Minneapolis for another workshop! The attendees were great, the response terrific, and best of all, something amazing happened at the Learning Annex event in San Francisco that will serve as a template for each city that hosts a Passion Prophet appearance.Read about it here

In San Francisco, Robin K., who by divine order found himself at the event (I met his wife and her coworkers at a vegetarian restaurant just a day before the event and invited them to the workshop) was so energized and inspired that he immediately set up a Yahoo discussion group just for SanFran graduates to communicate with each other after the seminar. The most critical period of time after a passion profit workshop is the 30-day period post-event. Now with a means of following up and supporting each other, this group is poised to really show the world what passionpreneurs can do with the right motivation.

A similar thing happened In Minneapolis, where Laura P., a participant with a passion for web design, suggested and offered to create a dedicated site just for MSP graduates which she hopes to have up in a little while.

As a result, we’re formulating a model that other workshop graduates can use to support each other as they move through the post-event steps to take the put the philosophy and formula into practice to turn passion into profit

These “Passionpreneur Clubs” will be a critical component of the burgeoning Passionpreneur Movement! Imagine cities all around the country holding meetings each month where members network, give updates on their progress, make business deals and simply meet and talk with others who share the vision. Imagine larger cities having several such clubs recruiting new members, spreading the Passion Profit Philosophy and Formula to dozens, hundreds and thousands of average folk who find themselves living extraordinary passion-centered lives as they implement a technique for finding the hidden value in their hobbies, talents and passions and turning it into streams of income! The possibilities are endless!

It’s impossible to adequately describe the magic that happens at a Passion Profit workshop. Each event is a unique moment in time and space, and you will NEVER know what we who were there experienced at those events. Your Own National Tour!

Hey All!
I'm currently engaged in a project that I think is really cool, and has tremendous profit potential for other passionpreneurs, especially authors, inventors and motivational speakers.

Using everything I've learned from my network marketing experience in American Communications Network, my Scientology course training (The Dynamics of Money, How to Change Conditions in Life, Targets and Goals), I'm organizing a "Passion Prophet Comes Alive in 2005 National (and possibly World) Tour!

The strategy is to recruit team members in key cities around the country to be my eyes, ears and local representatives to plan, host, publicize and execute workshops. The events will pay for themselves, generate a profit and be able to reward the team members who help organize them.
Eventually everything I create here will be a Free Report that will be available on the http://www.passionprofit.com/ website. For now, however, you can learn as we go by checking back here every so often

I've always had a "Request Workshop in Your City" submission form at www.passionprofit.com/appearances.html, and have had a few false starts getting events organized through individuals who submitted their info. For whatever reason (and we can have that metaphysical discussion about divine order and universal preparedness another time), things are now falling into place. Within 7 days of really getting started on the idea, I already have about 10 dates confirmed, and expect to hear from 3 more today alone.

It all started with a request from East West Books in San Francisco. Their event organizer called to invite me to do book signing for my Tao of Wow book. I agreed. Since I would have to pay for travel (from New York) and hotel myself, I started to mull over ways of making the trip ultimately more profitable.

1. First I sent a simple email to people who had requested workshops or who had expressed an interes.

A while back you mentioned your interestin attending and/or helping to organizea Passion Profit workshop.
I want to work with motivated people in keycities who have the desire, skills, experienceand connections to organize ONE event as partof my 25 city tour in 2005. If you or someone you fits the bill, please reply.
Essentially, I'm structuring a template that allows an organizer familiar with the lay of the land,downtown areas, organizations, etc. to helphost a workshop for 50 or more people and share in the revenue.

2. Next, I went over my list of contacts and also reached out tospecific people in various cities. I contact everyone fromevery possible demographic--college students, soccer moms,network marketers, black, white, Asian, Hispanic you name it--and requested their assistance

3. I also contacted the New York office of the Learning Annex,and got referrals to key people in their offices in Minneapolis, San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

4. Using the Targets and Goals template (You can get a copy ofthe workbook at www.passionprofit.com/products.html) I structureda plan that has the specific minimum requirementsfor the workshop as follows:

Attendance: we'll require 50 people minimum; presold or confirmed
Admission:$40Duration: 3 Hours, (10am -1pm)
If we can get an organization with a good number ofmembers to sponsor the event and payfor plane and hotel, that would be ideal. If not,the 50 person attendance will generate $2,000 whichcan be used for travel and hotel and your commission.
5. After "interviewing" the prospective team member to determineif they have the right attitude, communication skills, motivational leveland other skills necessary, I send them the following email withtheir "First Steps"

1. Set Date: (As we discussed on the phone)
2. Find organization to sponsor/host/stage or help with publicizing event -establish relationship with key decision-maker -provide him/her with overview of event/from media kit -show him/her copy of book and/or direct to website for more info -feel free to share my number and/or email address
3. Find location and confirm availability for date desired
4. Sign agreement as necessary
5. Send me the following information for me to post on website

Today was a good day! I spent some time using Adobe Photoshop teaching myself how to create 3D covers for some books I’m working on. The first is my soon-to-be-released Life Rhymes collection. (Check it out at www.liferhymes.com). Also did a cover for Kamau’s Always on Top search engine optimization primer which will be available within a few days at www.passionprofit.com/alwaysontop

No matter how busy I get, I realize that I really love the site/book/marketing plan design process. So, in addition to doing the workshops and coaching, I have to remember to

After the workshop/book signing in Harlem on Saturday, I now have a few coaching clients signing on. Also heard from a client who has a game coming out that I predict will be a good seller! (Can’t give any more details right now, but stay tuned to this blog for the big announcement)

My printer just informed me that copies of Turn Your Passion Into Profit have been bound, boxed and on their way to Baker & Taylor. So, soon they’ll be flying off the shelves in bookstores around the country! The decision to go the retail store route is primarily one for exposure. I make considerably less per book when sold to a wholesaler like Baker & Taylor. However, I know there’s a market that I wouldn’t otherwise reach by selling exclusively on the web. So, at the suggestion of the good folks at Barnes & Noble, I lowered the cost from $29.95 to $24.95 and made it available for retail store sale.

Just spent an hour interviewing Kamau to put the finishing touches on his book.
